I offer 26BTC for it
Big offer to make without seeing the condition of the coin.

Well, I assumed the pictures in OP were his, but they are not. Obviously my offer requires pictures of both sides of the coin etc...I am also only interested if it is series 1 like the pictures....
It would be worth the offer especially if it looks like the one in the picture, beautiful and all shiny looks brand new.

Let's wait and see if the OP puts some pics with his username displayed first before anyone gets their hopes up.

Thats a decent offer by Blazed if you just need to cash out without destroying the coins numismatic value... $1,200 premium currently

Its tough to find collectors ( like they were saying) that can afford coins in this range. I have a decent stash now and I'm hoping in 3 to 5 years the numismatic value will catch on with investors and boooom out pace the BTC value. Right now its a bitcoin enthusiast market but eventually coin collectors will start coming out of the wood work.. imo

good luck !  Its history Smiley

Just curious, what do you guys consider the rarest of Casascius coins? I'm looking to start a collection and want to start with the high end. Obviously not considering the 1k coins  Smiley

The rarest is the 1000 BTC 1oz gold round.  My personal favorite is the all silver 10 BTC coin, but as far as rarity goes, a good place to start might be the all silver 0.1 or 0.5 coins, or perhaps the 2011 S2 coin without the hologram error.

If you want to research this more yourself, here's a good place to start: https://casascius.uberbills.com/

Thanks, yeah can't afford (or probably find) the 1000btc, but the 25btc and down is doable.

Why would he redeem it when he can easily sell it to me?

Yes, besides throwing away money he would also be destroying a piece of Bitcoin's history.  Sell it, don't peel it.

I've seen some of these sell for over 30 BTC, take your time they are very rare coins.

The last 2 sold went for much less... 26.5 and 27 (Bitcoin was sub $700 at the time). I have not seen one of these sell for over 27 since 2013/2014.

Why do you want to get rid of it?

Are you in desperate need of $31,000+ in cash? If so, just redeem it.

If an additional $5,000-$7,500 would be helpful you should try to sell the coin, loaded, to a collector. This forum is a good place to find that investor but you'll need to do some real searching to find a buyer. You can't just post a picture and say - what will you give me for this?

Today it's worth $31,750 without a premium and without a buyer!

Why would he redeem it when he can easily sell it to me? Anyways, I need pictures to check out the condition of the coin etc...

Good, it's already a double from 0.5BTC Smiley
That will make me do pictures in coming days.

By the way I am the original buyer of the coin.

I wouldnt see you getting much more than 0.5BTC premium

Okay, I was thinking more like a 100g of gold premium,
but seems it needs few more years for that Smiley

Thanks for answers!
The premium on a 25 has historically been low, even when BTC was in the $200's.  There's just not a big premium on the 25's and 5's, you'll pay proportionally much higher for the .5 and 1 BTC coins, and exponentially higher for the 0.1 silver.  The problem is that there's not too many people who can pop off purchase of a 25 today.  Back when they were introduced, yeah, many could afford them at the time.  Now with BTC where it is, very few would be willing to part with that much fiat to buy one, and anyone who has that much in BTC is not willing to part with that much of a premium.

Also, premiums are usually calculated in BTC, not tied to fiat or PM's, so a 0.5 BTC premium today will still be a 0.5 BTC premium tomorrow.  The only thing is what BTC is comparable to at that time.  So, it will be a very long time before that premium could be turned around to buy you 100g of gold, but either way it's still a 0.5 BTC premium.

If you want to sell it for the premiums mentioned, PM me.  It's worth that premium to keep someone from peeling it, but not much beyond that unfortunately.
