I've listed some of the coins I have for sale on the new Particl market, see link:

https://www.demarkets.io/explorer

Particl is a fully decentralised market place on a block chain - it's not implemented in ethereum - I've been testing it and it works really well; I've sold one item so far and bought another, it was smooth and easy.

If you want to buy or sell you can download the wallet here:

https://particl.io/downloads/

Create a new wallet and call it 'market' to see all the listings in your wallet.

Snazzy marketing video:

As a local rule to this board, if items are not also priced in BTC, this needs to be moved to the "Alt-Coin Marketplace" section of the forum

Ok, that makes sense. Any chance you could leave this thread here and I'll start a separate one for this related topic under alts?

BTC: the beginning of stake-based public resources

    - Casascius Brass Series 2 1BTC but with 2012 front – these are very rare, no COA – 1.9BTC each, 2 available. This item includes a capsule. Coins are mint and untouched since receipt.

These are actually some of the most common Casascius coins out there:  3rd highest mintage!!!     ..... and the most often sold in past few years....

This is interesting. I've been paying over the odds in that case :/ for these.

Do you have any more info on this?

I do... The Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins is a decent guide...  think there is even an online free one for the Cas coins

https://coinfirm.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/The-CoinFIRM-Casascius-Guide-v0.11-4.pdf

Ok, so they seem pretty common, about 50% the amount of the 2013 series 2 backs. Not sure where the story they are rare came from, I was repeating what people had said to me.

Have you seen any 2011 series 2 backs? Not sure I have...

One coin to rule them all
Wow this is so mind-blowing... I just have 0,1 BTC and damn it I wish I would have been earlier to the party to get these coins too.

Its not too many years ago that 10 BTC and 25 BTC Casascius coins was sold on a regular basis in this section... that is mind blowing to think about.

In any case, its never too late to join the crypto party, you will be surprised how much your 0.1 will be worth in 3-5 years from now, the tricky thing is not to loose it on the way, gamble it, spend it or buy shitcoins.

You are forgetting BSV, the 2nd most valuable fork behind BCH.  I would argue that everything below Bitcoin Gold is not worth redeeming or even mentioning. There is no liquidity and very few people would have accounts at exchanges that are trading Bitcoin Private, for example.  It's just not worth time to a. find a compatible wallet, b. sync the blockchain, c. claim the forked coins, d. sign up to sketchy altcoin exchange, and e. convert to a minimal amount of BTC.  Some exchanges will not let you trade/withdraw anything that doesn't meet a minimum amount, so there's a good chance it's a total waste of time.

Just count the BTC + BCH + BSV and be done with it.  Anyone who was doing this math and paid for these forks on a Casascius coin during the pump and dumps of 2017-2018 ended up losing money, because they were not able to peel and redeem any of that value.  There's no buyer who buys a Casascius coin with the plan to peel it, so in reality none of this will ever come into play for a buyer.  It's mostly for the seller to try and over-emphasize what a buyer is receiving at a single point in time.  If you instead emphasize the collector value, scarcity and BTC appreciation potential, it comes across as much more genuine.

This is one of the best posts I've read in a while. Brilliantly stated Hybridsole. It's posts like this that educate so many people.
PS: Nice work from No_2 for adding it all up because it's absolutely worth knowing, but no doubt Hybrid came up with the absolute most effective and efficient outcome if anyone were to ever peel to begin with which most are not. Thanks for the posts gents!

Prices are current on coinmarketcap as of my time of posting.

I've omitted the coins that are not listed there anymore, seems quite a few have vanished.

Can anyone let me know if I've missed any.

This is a great analysis and simple way to look at it, if your coin was loaded prior to BCH fork it automatically has 6% extra value. Interesting.....

Ok, these prices and the stock list are now up to date.

Does anyone have an up to date list of all the coins/forks contained in Casascius coins?

I believe the following list should have em all

   https://www.forks.net/list/Bitcoin/

So this list is pretty good, but the list also seems to be missing things like Clams (CLAM) and ColossusXT (COLX).

Here is a first attempt at a list, but I'm not convinced this is complete:

Code:
Bitcoin All BTA
Bitcoin Atom BCA
Bitcoin Cash BCH
Bitcoin Clashic BCHC / B
Bitcoin Diamond BCD
Bitcoin Faith BTF
Bitcoin File BIFI
Bitcoin God GOD
Bitcoin Gold BTG
Bitcoin Hot BTH
Bitcoin Interest BCI
Bitcoin Lite BTCL
Bitcoin Nano BTN
Bitcoin New BTN
Bitcoin Ore BCO
Bitcoin Pizza BPA
Bitcoin Private BTCP
Bitcoin Rhodium BTR
Bitcoin SegWit2X x11 B2X
Bitcoin Silver BTSI
Bitcoin Smart BCS
Bitcoin Stake BTCS
Bitcoin Top BTT
Bitcoin Uranium BUM
Bitcoin World BTW
Bitcoin Zero BZX
BitcoinBoy BCB
BitcoinX BCX
Bitcore BTX
BitVote BTV
Bytether BTH
Clams CLAM
ColossusXT COLX
ClassicBitcoin CBTC
Lightning Bitcoin LBTC
Micro Bitcoin MBC
Oil BTC OBTC
Quantum Bitcoin QBTC
Super Bitcoin SBTC
UnitedBitcoin UB

Basically my plan is to exclude all the dead/micro forks and try work out a base value for casascius coins using this list.

Can anyone else think of forks I've missed or know of a better list somewhere?

Hi No_2,

I am new to this forum and I am excited at the possibility of purchasing collector items. My question is if you have a 2011 Casascius 1.0 BTC Brass "Error" graded coin for sale as I am interested in purchasing this item.

I am located in the UK and will pay shipping costs. I would like to know your thoughts or if you have any other 1 BTC graded coins for sale?

...

I was talking generally; there are some fake Casascius as you mention. The majority of my items have CoAs from Casascius and Lealana before they both stopped minting coins.

The CoAs are a PDF which contains both a scan of the coins in question showing their unique characteristics, the position of the number, inclusions etc and the document is verified with an adobe signature from the mint owner.

Thanks for your interest.

The examples I mentioned was not offered with chain of custody.
Nevertheless Chain of custody does not guarantee authenticity, unless all links are highly trusted.

I am aware that there are fakes of the 25 BTC and 1 BTC brass circulating.

I was not aware that there is circulating fake Casascius 1 BTC silver, is this verified by Mike? Can you provide me with a source for this information?

But I do agree with you, that a pdf scan of the coin digitally signed by Mike does add some value to the coin.
How much? I do not know, I guess the market will decide Smiley

Cheers Smiley

Thanks for the info.

I appreciate some people like their coins graded by an independent party, but this gives no guarantee of authenticity. And apparently there are a few fakes around now.

Did the graded coins include a digitally signed Certificate of Authenticity from Casascius to prove they were genuine? If so I'll reduce my pricing.

Beautiful coins you have for sale  Smiley

No offense, but you might want to lower your expectations a bit - unless its is a typo.

Are you serious about 2.95 BTC for a ungraded  1 BTC Cas silver?

The 1 BTC Silver goes for around ~2.0 BTC at the moment.
(Blazzed sold a bunch 1-2 weeks ago for that price, and i have even seen them at 1.9 BTC not too long ago)

Of cause it is a free market, so you can set any price you like, but if you are serious about selling, then is a price adjustment needed.
