Yeah I have. Norway wants all cash gone by 2025, this is a huge step in the wrong direction. The banks will have total control over the economy on the country, everyone is forced to make payments by card. Lending a few dollars to a friend? Nah sorry cash is worthless.

I think bitcoin would make a difference if this ever happens, let's just hope a transaction won't cost 2$ by then.

Cash is a measure of how powerful each nation is. If a currency disappears, the value of a currency will fluctuate, so governments will not let that happen.

The thread doesn't say the cash will disappear. It says the cash will be replaced by Bitcoin. Their is a possibility for that. Now all the transactions are made by Bitcoin. If the bitcoin replace the cash means, all the transactions will be made by Bitcoin.

There is no doubt that soon the bitcoins are going to make world cashless, at least the developed countries. Bitcoins have many advantages over cash like more security, more profitable etc. That’s why banks are afraid of bitcoins. They will soon perish away if bitcoins continue becoming popular over the world at the same pace.

Indeed, bitcoin will bring up arena of cashless society but only in the countries which are developed. They have got all the potential and advanced technology to create proper system of cashless society. There is also need of literate people which they have got and are ready to accept it.

Banks, yeah they are surely afraid of this system as bitcoin will eat out every financial stuff they are providing to us.

A cashless society is an imminent threat affecting your privacy, your freedom, your money and the solidarity within our society.
when your children will ask you: "Dad, Mom, where were you when they set up this totalitarian system?" What are you going to tell?
It can be funny to use the latest gadget to make a payment but you could lose control over your bank account and your life overnight.

Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
Getting into the moment to say that we are in a cashless society will be really possible because year by year or time by time technology innovates. Bitcoin as we all know is generated by modern technology so as technology rises, it will be also an opportunity for bitcoin to be popularize and rise and all the things in our environment will be on digital or in short, will be put into instant by the use of technology. Payments will be surely be generated online or by use of technology leading to society becoming cashless.

Obviously yes. Day to day many changes are coming in our life. So their is a chance for to replace the cash and made our society into caseless.Which means all the transactions is made by using bitcoin only. I had no doubt for that to happen. At first bitcoin will replace dollar and then the entire cash.

I do strongly believe that bitcoin would really be a big part on having a cashless society but we should really accept also the fact that government would really create their own centralized e-currency which would opposes on bitcoin to,knowing that bitcoin cant be controlled and government doesnt really like that which means if they didnt adopt bitcoin on their place then they would really search up for other centralized things which they can impose taxes or even to create their own.

I don't think that's a good idea. First of all not all people has access  the internet, secondly cryptocurrency takes some skills to know how to handle it and do your transfers online so it's gonna be hard for old people and those who are not into technology to learn about. "Cashless Society" is a great idea, but unfortunately it's really hard to have it  in the real world.
I think cashless society does not mean everyone should use bitcoin. They can use other versions of the bank such as a credit card or debit card. I think this idea can be applied and of course all the transactions will be more easy and flexible. And would be much safer with no cash

I really dont see a future without cash in it, most people dont trust banks enough to use credit and debit cards for every transaction, the volatility of bitcoins and other crypto currencies will not make a lot of people happy if their money high one second and low the other, there is a lot of confusion on that side as well. Cash will be there as long as governments exits.

Cashless world isn't possible soon. For a cashless world, everyone should has access to inernet and smartphones and should be literate enough to operate them. As of 2015, about 10% of world's population is illiterate. How can you expect a cashless world in such circumstances. It would definitely take more than 20 years to have a cashless society. I don't think till then Bitcoin would be the major option of digital currency.

People living in developed countries can't imagine how someone can be without internet access nowadays. But the truth is that 50% of the world population don't have it. You can't use Bitcoin without internet, so we are far from the cashless society yet.

What skills? You will just own it, use it to pay, sent it by getting their addresses? What's hard? We even know how to use it in short time so I think these will not be a problem to older people who has a lot of experience. Maybe the people who will be having a hard time here is the people who do not even know what is technology, computers, or the internet.

Well the funny thing is we ourselves are not yet ready for a cashless world or society. And what makes you think that banks are threatened by Bitcoin? Do you think business owners will trust their Bitcoin Wallets to secure their Billions worth of assets? I don't think so. A cashless society does not depend on businesses but our government as well. Even if Bitcoin becomes a popular cryptocurrency in the world I think the best thing it can do is become one of the payment systems.

This is possible, but this would be implemented by the governments.  This would result into fiat currency being converted to electronic currency. Generally, I think this will not result to the governments using cryptocurrency as most of those are decentralized. Something the governments don't want.

I dont think so, for that to be implemented We must have free worldwide internet which too impossible for the future to happened probably because no one will sacrifice his million dollars just for the people worldwide to use free internet to access cashless transactions.

Nobody knows what will happen in the next few years, but as you have suggested that it would be more convenient if world wide free internet will be implemented, I agree with it, as of now our technology is also increasing, and that also means they also need to widen the access of internet so that each updates they wanted to share will be arrived in which part of the planet. Maybe for now we could only say it is not possible, but come to think of it, people always do the research or do inventions to make life more convenient and easy.

Yes I wondered since I knew about bitcoin and other digital currencies. Before I only knew about paying using cards in shopping malls that I only watch in TV. Rich people easily adopt this. But for the cashless society, I think it is not possible for now, since much more goods and services are paid using cash. If cashless society happens, meaning there is a very big improvement to a country or worldwide. Yes it will transform our lives but I don’t think it is be all for the better.

Progress in financial economics theory has led to the creation of
new markets that trade dematerialised derivatives of traditional products such as
foreign exchange, interest rates or equity portfolios. Derivatives markets, futures,
options, swaps, etc. have dramatically expanded the notions of tradability and risk
management. They are growing more rapidly than cash markets in the underlying
instruments.
The financial markets explosion is information-driven. The globalisation of
the economy and the increasing variety of economic transactions create greater
uncertainty and thus generate a strong and continuous demand for information.
Financial markets are a web of conduits for displaying and exchanging such information.
