To live in Monaco, there is a minimum requirement of money in your bank account. So to say that they really do care about their citizens’ financial wellbeing. Whether out of genuine concern or just trying to maintain their image of wealth, I don’t know.
regarding this part. I looked it up and it looks like this rule is only for foreign nationals who are seeking residency in the country(which is reasonable), natural citizens are excluded from this rule.

True. And as far as I know, the minimum is 1 million Euros.

Anyway, if you were to be given a choice. Would you rather live in one of the wealthiest cities but not be able to gamble in the famous Casino? Or would you pass on the opportunity to live in Monaco and just visit the casino occasionally?

If you are able to go occasionally to one of the most known physical casinos of the world, located in one of the wealthiest places of the world, then you likely have and the money to support it. There are many beautiful places all over the world, why to become a permanent resident? As we said, you have the financial stability to be an occasional player there. Cool

I thought Monaco is a country and not just a city. Let us say that I went on tourism to Monaco if I am very wealthy and ready to spend because the country is very expensive. I will make sure I visit some casinos there. It is part of fun. I do not care if their citizens is gambling or not. It is possible for tourists attraction in a country to have gambling platforms for tourists which is not bad. It is the tourists that should discipline themselves not to gamble beyond responsible gambling.

I prefer the former over the latter; there are many benefits and perks to living in a wealthy country. I can live without playing in a casino as long as I'm living a good life and I have a country that provides for basic needs. Besides,  I can use my money to visit casinos abroad to play.
They are not the only casino country that does not allow their citizens to play in their casinos; the logic behind this is very sound. There is a temptation to gamble all your money is there if there are no restrictions playing in these beautiful casinos. The government is right in implementing this.

I am not a regular gambler nor do I gamble infrequently and it is strictly recreational. It's real that when I gamble I lose more than I win. It might be fun for a while but I have to admit that gambling is bad for me. If gambling were strictly prohibited for me, I would not go so far as to harm myself. In your case, why should I go gambling despite being banned when I can have a better life and live in a rich city? Use other media for entertainment that have no restrictions. I find it more profitable to live in the richest city in the world than to lose money gambling in the world's famous casinos.

I would bet on them just trying to keep their reputation as a wealthy community, rather than being an actual concern of the local goverment for the financial wellbeing of their citizens. It kind of reminds me some small European country which offers people to become citizens of the European union in exchange of their money to be invested in infrastructure within that small country (I don't recall the name of it right now, though.
I think, I would rather to live in Monaco and not to be able to gamble or visit that luxurious casino than having the chance to visit it and then have to return to my home country, to be honest.
I am the kind of person who does not seek for immediate gratification but tries to look towards the future (in the long term) and being citizen/resident of Monaco would be worth the sacrifice of gambling less or limiting my gambling activity.

Not the ideal case, but definitely better than living here.

Ironically, citizens of Monaco are actually not allowed to gamble and even visit Casino de Monte Carlo. They are prohibited because the Princely family did not want their citizens to gamble away their money. Sounds pretty reasonable if you ask me. Monaco is known to be strict with maintaining their status quo. To live in Monaco, there is a minimum requirement of money in your bank account. I need a data that says citizens of Monaco don't gamble. If the citizens of Monaco are happy and do not think that they are under any oppressive regime them good for them. If I have lived in Monaco my whole life, I would be bored of seeing super nice cars . I will also be curious to know what is it in the Casino de Monte Carlo that makes rich people live their countries to come here to gamble.

And since gambling is prohibited for citizens, I'll leave Monaco and go to another country where gambling is restricted just to satisfy my curiosity.

I don't care about famous casinos, why should I care? Is there any thropy I will win if I visit the casino? It doesn't make sense to even leave my country to visit another just for sight seeing, I know people do this but I won't do it because of a casino, online gambling makes things easy and I don't need to visit any located casino.

I've heard a lot about Monaco and I have only see it in movies but I've never for once feel like visiting this place some day, and even now that I come across this topic I don't feel like visiting still.

I can live anywhere except places where online gambling is banned or restricted, with my smartphone and the internet I am good.

If you are a gambler and know the famous casinos all over the world, I am sure you know Casino de Monte Carlo. This casino located at the principality of Monaco is known for its opulent and lavish design. We know that Monaco is basically the land of the wealthiest and the casino proves it to be true. If you don’t know this casino, you may recognize it from a couple of James Bond movies and even the first novel was said to be inspired from the casino itself.

I have heard so many beautiful things about Monaco and casino business is one of the things that stand out among others. I was discussion some of the things you highlighted with a friend, how Monaco is the home of casino and class, according to my friend and our discussion did raise my curiosity about Monaco more than ever. Hopefully, I will be rich enough to be able to visit that beautiful city one day and see things for myself.

Anyway, if you were to be given a choice. Would you rather live in one of the wealthiest cities but not be able to gamble in the famous Casino? Or would you pass on the opportunity to live in Monaco and just visit the casino occasionally?
I wouldn't want to live in a city where there is restriction of any form because I cherish my freedom more than anything. I would want to do what I want to do with my money and time without anyone telling me how to spend my money.

I will pass the chance to live in Monaco because I don't playing gambling at the physical casino but in the online casino. I prefer to use online casino to playing gambling than the physical casino because I don't have to go to the casino. I can playing gambling at my home and that will be comfortable for me.

Living in the one of the wealthiest will not for me because I think the cost of living can be high. I prefers to live in the middle city which doesn't have a high cost for living. That is not because gambling because gambling is not my primary things.

It's tough to live in one of the top tourist spots in the world. Sure, the economy will be great but the rules will also get stricter to make the place more inviting and safe for tourists.
I have not heard about the casino as I don't really have many ideas about expensive casinos around the world but I think the owner is just reasonable. he is actually putting some of his profits out by doing that. He can stay as a businessman and let everyone gamble but he uses his head first so that he knows the people who are living near him and they won't change easily. That's another layer of security because he can trust the people around his business.

I am not always thrilled by opulence or lavish lifestyle, hence gambling in the Casino de Monte Carlo is not my priority. So I will take the option of living a simple and quiet life in Monaco and avoid visiting the famous casino. The citizens of Monaco are only restricted from entering a casino but the legislation doesn't bar them for the legislation does not prohibit betting on online or crypto casinos. Which means I can still enjoy online gambling platforms. But I will really miss the fun of hanging out with friends and having fun in physical casinos.

Depends, if you are a gambler then definitely, you will what to play in that famous casino, what is the use of being a gambler when you can't go and play on Monte Carlo. But if you are not a gambler per se, then yeah, live in the wealthiest cities, enjoy your old money and live to the fullest.

But for sure, majority of gamblers here wanted to have that first hand experience on Casino de Monte Carlo, so I would pass that opportunity to live in that city so that I can gamble there if I wanted to.

And for the experience, just go with the dress code and play like James Bond,  Grin and then order a "vodka Martini, shaken not stirred".

Living somewhere on the basis of whether the casino allows it not or does not is a poor parameter for assessment.

You live in a place where living standards are up to the mark, education is easy to get into and jobs are available for people to join into. You live to grow your family and that is what should be the focus, not whether you can drive by to the nearest casino and gamble away money.

I would never live in a place just basing on the accessibility of gambling, gambling is too easy these days to get into. Maybe visit Monaco once in a lifetime rather.

What is a casino? Or better still, assuming you are a rekted gambler, how do you define a casino?

For me, assuming I am a rekted gambler, I would simply define a casino as a place to loose money, not forced but willingly.
So, if the above be the definition of a casino for me, it makes me understand that seeing or even entering into one of the most richest and most beautiful casinos in the entire world won't put a penny in my pocket, but rather, it will take the little I have out of my pocket..

Man, I would rather choose to live a life of financial abundance and luxury in the most expensive part of Monaco and never have to gamble, than live outside wealth and spend my little money on one of the world's most prestigious casinos, what does that benefit me?

I have heard of Monaco and very good things about it. I have also watched videos about people's experiences at the Casino de Monte Carlo. It is a wealthy place. If the people cannot gamble at the physical casino there can, are they restricted from gambling online? One way or another the gambling there would run off on the citizens. I don't mind living in on of the wealthiest cities in the world and passing on the opportunity to gamble as long as the wealth is translated in to better quality of life for the residents of the city and not just some section of the population enjoying the wealth.

There are others who are really gamblers who use the gambling place so that they can avoid the problem they are facing for a while, so even for a while they run away from it, maybe so that they can think properly about the problem they have left behind for the time being. That's what I see in others.

But I've never experienced that kind of thing that makes gambling in the casino an escape place so that I can think properly; this is not my way
because gambling for me is really just for fun and enjoyment.
