when you create a new miner that is not under the gpl / opensource licences ... you can commit it as being yours and yours alone ...

this is not easy - but fruitful if licensing is part of the equation ...

even in linux - there are licensed products - but they have to be wholly yours - and yours alone - without any of the open licensing agreements ... sp - none of the miners you supply are - only the kernel changes - and even then - that is under the gpl licensing ... who is policing this? ... no one that has any power to do so ...

so which ever way you go with this - i agree that its better than a fixed price miner also ... though it amazes me that you even bother - with the size of your farm - and the rate of growth - you would be better to keep ALL your optimizations internal and the sp farm only ... why bother selling anything and opening yourself to this and legal scrutiny anyway? ...

same here - except that the system is trying to be unfair ...

because the government consider cryptocurrency an asset - that designation places it under the asset law and asset tax ... so by law - we are required to 'declare' that we have cryptocurrency assets - and are taxed accordingly ... when you cash this already taxed asset - it becomes an income when fiat is deposited into your bank account - hence placing it under the income law and income tax ...

so here - we are 'double taxed' ... unless we dont 'declare' the cryptocurrency ... but that is just cryptocurrency alone ... the sale of a product - whether physical or software - is applicable to many other laws - which are ALL based on the legitimacy of the entity that sells it ... hence the responsibility of the seller to support the written deeds that accompany the sale of the product ...

its messy here - very very messy ... and a good time to make the most of the bct / fiat cash out - due to the laws inconsistencies and loopholes - before they are all plugged up ... but it also shows that the governments are watching ALL of us with a keen eye ... and as such - whatever we do in the sales of any product ( crypto related or not ) we need to make sure that its under the rightful legal banner ...

it only takes ONE doubt in their mind - to audit and scrutinize any one of us as 'they' see fit ... and 'they' have the power to do it ... ive seen it - and i never want to see it again ...

With the amount of greedy people you might not reach the goal. But if you do everyone would use it and in a few days the difficulty would just be higher and profits would be back down to what it was before the optimization (which is why many wouldn't pay for it).

But it's still better than a fixed price.

But none of them help with milking probably hundreds of miners who use your miner but never paid a dime to you.

When I exchange my profit in cryptos to fiat I pay tax. This is how it works here. But I also get tax reductions for my expenses.
Trading in cryptos is tax free.

- income from mining (taxable if exchanged to fiat)
- income from trading (tax free)

And when you invest all your profit in new hardware you don't pay tax right?

but a sale is a sale - and the promises that you provide with the sale - is scrutinized under the law as well sp ... i know - i am here in australia doing a similar thing ... if you say you are going to provide a backup service - by law ( whether cryptocurrency itself is placed in legislation as a currency or not ) needs to be backed ... especially if you state it in writing ... this again - i know as australian law is the same ... cryptocurrency is considered an asset here - not a currency ... and as such - a trading entity which is scrutinized by law also ... so any product - crypto related or not - that is up for sale is scrutinized by the law of the state and country ...

whether you cover yourself with taxes or otherwise is not my business - but the STATED support of the sale of product when sold to me is ...

again - i appreciate the support when it is appropriated ...

That it's too much for small farms and chump change for big ones. Fixed price doesn't scale.

To me with 6kW worth of cards it doesn't worth it at all. If it was fee based I might use it.

Even if medium miners can afford it, there's not much reason to buy it because it's either doesn't worth it or it's too good and everyone will have it within a week which is essentially the same as nobody having it.

I love opensource and try to donate to devs if I use their optimizations but the reality is that fee based miners are probably the most beneficial to everyone.

I optimize and release opensource kernels. People who donate get access to private beta releases with speedups.

Norway has not yet accepted virtual currency as a real currency. But my mining revenue is taxed when I exchange to fiat in my company.
