~crypto is complete shit~

Paper money can be printed as much as you want and this is their main disadvantage. Try to learn more about cryptography, it is really unique. Cryptography is the future!

That's not entirely true, at least with the numerous 'Self Moderated' threads you will experience first class dictatorship and hostile deletion of posts OP feels run contrary to their opinion. Honestly, I believe Theymos should expunge the privileges of self moderating threads. It's long overdue.

Self moderated threads are made to be censored.

I usually open such threads myself to insta delete comments from some people. But they know it and they usually create another thread ot answer mine.

You can say whatever you want here. Just be on topic.

You were deleted because that's off topic.

Bitcointalk is probably the most free place I know. You can say whatever you want here.

Just be on topic. That's the nearly only rule.

I posted the following in this thread and it was deleted:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-got-hacked-and-lost-1-million-5080741
I thought this might be for going off-topic in someone's ban appeal thread, which you did yesterday.  You started an off-topic rant about bitcoin, and it wasn't called for.  Start your own thread if you've got something to say.  Even if you hate bitcoin and think it's a scam and that bitcoiners are a stupid lot, it's not likely your posts or thread are going to get deleted just for your opinions--but you've got to be on-topic within a thread, at least a little.

We all can stray from the topic at hand at times (guilty myself), but the stuff you wrote in the ban appeal thread was obviously the wrong place for it.  I don't usually report posts for being off-topic, but yours were obviously in the wrong place.

If I were to say "buy silver" then would my post be deleted for being off topic in that same thread?

In the Bitcoin Technical Support board? Most definitely.

Was that a poor analogy? Smiley

... if someone reported it. Mods don't read every post in every thread. But yeah it's most definitely off-topic there.

Well I do read almost everything in that thread. You think that I would let that pass without reporting to moderator?  Cheesy

You come to a crypto-related forum and simply spread anti-crypto sentiments, no doubt you'd get loads of hate.

You'll find that there's quite a few users here who are openly against Bitcoin, and related technologies. You aren't the only one, and as long as the post is constructive, and on topic it won't be removed. We don't really care what your opinion on cryptocurrencies is from a moderation view point.

Custody services. Point in case.

It's all about the option of full freedom, which simply does not exist in legacy finance. There are tons of crypto bears and deniers here by the way, so if you're getting "censored" it's because you're being a twat.

If the current financial system is so great, why do we have to keep bailing out the banks every 20 or so years.

Let's take it this way:
The issue with the current financial system is that if you want a loan, interest is at 4% pa, while inflation is between 2 and 3, do you not spot the issue?

If banks were happy to charge less interest then sure the system might have some hope but telling a bank to cut it's profits by half isn't going to go down well...

Give Bangladesh $81 million back which has been stolen from Federal Reserve Bank of New York, I with a lot of people will give up giving a shit to crypto. By the way, why you are here then?

And, your post doesn't suit to be here.

Your missing the point butter, average joes have their bank accounts insured by the federal government.  GOOD FUCKING LUCK getting back your stolen crypto.

Take basic security measures and you're crypto will never get stolen.

1. Don't store crypto on an exchange.
2. Buy a hardware wallet.
3. Create a paper wallet and store it in several places.

So your are judging cryptocurrency solely based on the possibility of it getting stolen or hacked. Which is more likely to happen only when you outsource your assets on an exchange?
Responsibility is one that comes with decentralization. Complete control over your assets with no interference from governments or agencies.
If you feel safer with banks, you are under no obligation to change.
