I seems that this could happen to many countries in the future.  The earth cannot continue to support a growing population.  At some point there won't be enough resources to go around.

In my opinion, the earth can sustain 2 billion people at the most. However, the current population is more than 7 billion, and it is growing at a rapid pace thanks to contributions from the South Asia, Middle-east and Africa. Population in East Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe is either stable or declining, while that of Latin America is slowing down. It is outright lunacy in countries such as Egypt and Bangladesh, to encourage the population growth. They have one of the highest population densities in this planet. For example, around 3% of Egypt's land is not desert, and this region is having a population density of 2,800 people per sq.km. Bangladesh is having a population density of 1,250 people per sq.km. Still the politicians in these countries encourage population growth!

Omg and now you're answering questions on which scientists don't have even the slightest clue and that first need incredible precision on their definition just like that...

Well at least it's interesting to read you just to remember how people can say things without the begining of a fact to support their opinion.

You have to maintain a fertility rate over 2 to maintain a culture.

Nope. Australian tribes with a population of just 80 to 100 people were able to maintain their culture for tens of thousands of years, until the arrival of the Europeans. These tribes had unique languages and customs, and despite such a minuscule population, they were able to survive until the late 19th century. Normally, anthropologists consider tribes with a population of 400 or above as "viable".

At 1.3 a population would be cut in half in 45 years an in 100 years would be down by 75%.  No kids means decline in population, plain and simple, people die every day.

If the Japanese don't want to have children, then what can the government do? And unlike the Western nations such as Sweden and Denmark, the Japanese government does not provide much maternity and paternity benefits to the young couples.

according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states_and_dependent_territories_by_fertility_rate  Japan's fertility rate is 1.4, really low.  You have to maintain a fertility rate over 2 to maintain a culture.  At 1.3 a population would be cut in half in 45 years an in 100 years would be down by 75%.  No kids means decline in population, plain and simple, people die every day.

And still everyone is criticizing socialist countries such as France.

Well maybe you find us stupid or immoral, but at least socialist policy allows everyone to have take care of their children if they don't have the financial power required.

With a birth rate of 2 we don't have this problems.

But we should of course take example over the Great German lifestyle...

Countries should not panic with population decrease. It should aim for the right population size. Even China is aiming to lower their current population. The worrisome one is India who has no control, do not control, don't want to control.

At least China is big enough to accommodate 1.3 billion people. But India is less than one-third of the size of China, and is having almost the same population. If you go to India, you will be horrified to see the hundreds of millions of people who live in the slum areas. They live without any running water or electricity, in the middle of filth and toxic garbage.

Come on. Not the "earth cannot support people" thing again.
Also it's interesting how Japan doesn't have terrorist attacks as other countries. Maybe because they don't encourage immigrants.

You don't really think there is no limit to the number of people that can fit on the earth do you.  Really?  You think the population will increase forever?

It's not that they don't encourage immigrants, it's that they for the most part do proper background checks on them and make sure they don't bring in morons who are just looking to cheat the system and they don't do the hand wringing and the whole "We didn't want to be accused of being racist" crap it's just called being pragmatic. You don't import people from a war zone en masse without doing any background checks or making sure they aren't out to kill people without thinking about this which is what western politicians have outright refused to do.

This is what people who run around screaming "Racist neo-nazi's!" don't realise, these are not normal people, they're not coming from stable countries, even these economic migrants who have been coming in come from very dodgy places so to act as if it's somehow discrimniating against them to check if they aren't going to try and kill or rape us is fucking insulting on their part alone.

the japs will build robots work for them instead of bring in black/muslim immigrants, they aren't stupid like europeans and americans

Already robots do a lot of work in the Japanese factories and assembling plants, especially those manufacturing the automobiles and the heavy machines. But unfortunately, robots can't be employed in crucial sectors such as medical care and banking. Perhaps increasing the retirement age to 65 or 68 might be a good idea.

America isn't doing badly. As long as immigration is tied to requirements and you make it easy for skilled people to immigrate, I think you should be okay.

maybe, japan isnt greedy for suck all the resources of the world.. japanese people wants to dissappear on earth perhaps..

Admit it. The earth is not capable of sustaining a human population of 7,125 million in the long term. A drastic reduction in the population is needed, for our own long-term survival.

the main problem is the high cost of living expenses make people think twice to marry and have children.and the countries panic because retired people don't' work full time and pay income taxes to the government.

In Japan, this issue is amplified, due to the extremely high life expectancy. An average Japanese lives up to 83 years of age, and this puts an enormous strain on the government in the form of pension payments and medical care.

Japan has lost a total of 947,345 people in the last 5 years. That is a population loss of around 200,000 people every year, substantial for a country of 127 million people. Still, unlike Western nations such as the United States and the United Kingdom, Japan has shown no interest in allowing immigration of either skilled or unskilled workers from the foreign nations.
