I see e-commerce has a centralized system because they have responsibility for everything that happens with problems.
If we have to see third parties as mediators for solving problems that exist and that can be held accountable to them.

Thanks! The topic is really interesting! I've never seen centralized platforms this way. They have many problems but I guess if they don't decide to shift to a new level, another unpopular but interesting startup based on blockchain will eat them! Why not? Nothing lasts forever including eBay and Amazon!

I think such corporations like Apple, Amazon, eBay are aware of the decentralized market and dApps, and they have enough money to buy startups but not to advertise this fact! It can't be that nobody of them is interested in cryptocurrencies!

That's why we need to bring that decentralized into a reality to eliminate the threat. I agree with you about hurting the e-commerce business by a monopolize power. If only we ca fast forward where every e-commerce platform has a distribution of power among users/consumers, the world will be a better place.

Not only the buyers but also the sellers are being affected by the centralized nature of online marketplace. Everyone's private information are getting leaked and they are put up on servers or under the supervision of such corporations that we, general people can do nothing about it. Whole scenario is ruining the experience for everyone involved in the E-commerce industry.

This is rightly said that centralization is exploiting the people as well as the e-commerce industry. We should address this as soon as possible and this can be solved by the help of decentralized technology. Apollo is really doing great and such type of initiatives is needed more.

I really wouldn't go as far as saying that they're harming the entire e-commerce industry.
You've given the example of Amazon banning erotic fiction, while still allowing 50 Shades of Grey, that only affects a small niche, not the entire industry.

I'm not sure if decentralized marketplaces are an answer to that. I would imagine that those decentralized marketplaces also need different interfaces to access them.
These interfaces can also choose what kinds of products they want to show or not.

I mean, most of these interfaces are going to have to implement filters to prevent illicit items from being shown, I would think.
They can add whatever filter they want really.
