Switch to BFG is Simple and its ready for Erupter USB.

Here is the how...

install it.
Unzip it, create a batch file with the command I posted below and your good to go.

Download from HERE ONLY!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/old-bfgminer-3100-modular-asicfpga-gbtstrtm-rpc-maclnxw64-antu1-drb-168174

Create a Batch File (.bat) in your in windows.
Code:
bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 -u UserID_worker -p **** --disable-gpu -S all
This is setup for BitMinter so you need to change to your pool.
^^Make sure that the .bat file is in the same folder as BFG.

This will disable the GPU/Video Cards
Code:
--disable-gpu

and this will detect all ASIC Erupters and to load all of them to run.
Code:
-S all

Try and google "Zadig" and use it to install winusb drivers for the device use!
Make sure you select it from the "list all devices" setting!

Good luck!

Or you could just download it from the same place you download CGMiner.

And the WinUSB is only for Windoze.  Most miners don't use Windoze.

Windoze?  What are you, 13?  It's Windows.    Roll Eyes

WinUSB is a total pain in the hole compared to just installing the VCP drivers.

I wish I was 13.

Installing WinUSB was a single click.  Even a Micro$haft Winblows user could do it without a problem.  Smiley

BFGMiner is far better for Erupters.  BFGMiner 3.1.4 has Erupter specific drivers, which seem a bit more stable for me.  No need for stupid WinUSB drivers like cgminer.  Command line is -S erupter:all

I still use cgminer for my GPUs, so no specific cgminer hating going on, I just find bfgminer to work better for the Erupters.

I just can't see how installing serial usb drivers can be called easy nor reliable.  I have had allot of irritating experience with that, albeit not with USB mining devices.

And the WinUSB is only for Windoze.  Most miners don't use Windoze.

My experience with CGMiner has been very good and it was the easiest new mining device install I've ever had.  With the one caveat of using USB 3.0 hubs, which I don't use, which from what I understand has been resolved but not released yet.

I haven't used Block Erupters before, but I have read that CGMiner hates them.

BFGMiner is the goto miner for Block Erupters (and I believe all ASIC devices)

If CGMiner "hates" anything it's USB 3.0 hubs.

I have been using CGMiner 3.3.1 with 15 Block Erupters and it has been working great and has been very easy to setup.

I use USB 2.0 hubs.

Could you post an example of either your command line (redacted) or .conf file if you use those (I do with my gpu miners, but not sure what the BE equivalent would be - mine are still enroute).

Thanks!

"cgminer-nogpu --usb ICA:5 -o [pool stuff]"  That tells CGMiner to grab 5 of my 15 Block Erupters.  I run 3 instances with 5 per pool.

Or you could just use

"cgminer-nogpu -o [pool stuff]" and have it use all Block Erupters in one instance.  Read the ASIC Readme to setup the WinUSB driver if your using Windoze.

Hey guys, for some reason it's failing to load all of my devices with the config below, any ideas?

C:\cgminer\cgminer-nogpu.exe -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u [username] -p [pw] --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S all

(Yes, I removed the username/pw)

I also tried listing out all of the COM ports individually and cgminer fails and closes.

What version of CGMiner are you using?

3.1.1

Edit: BFGminer is working perfectly, bye bye cgminer.

I was going to suggest reading the 3.1.1 readme as I "think" CGMiner does not have a "-S all" option.

Glad that your mining though.
