However, he actually said that you need to donate 50 BTC to become a VIP, and then change your username, which indeed looks like to be the right answer:

Creating a new account would be the best choice for you if you don't like your username. Having multiple accounts is not prohibited.
Why don't you first change the email of this account to a random one, and then create the new account?

Just create a new account if you don't like your username. You don't have many posts or much rank do it wouldn't matter if you start from new.

Google allows both of emails under same account. I don't know if it's against rules, so I'm sorry if it's. As far as I know, it's allowed to have multiple accounts (unless you use it for bounties, sig campaigns).

I do not advise this way, creating new account is not following the protocol that we have here on our forum. If you don't like your name, you don't have way to change it, you need to accept it and learn how to like it. Or else, why don't you try to donate for the development of this forum? I myself doesn't like my name but I learned how to like it, right now you can see me, still contributing for the development of our platform.
What protocol? There is literally no rule prohibiting a member to create another account not unless the first account was banned in the forum (Check Rules #18 and 25). If this was against "protocol" then DarkStar (DarkStar_alt) and LoyceV (LoyceMobile) won't be having alt accounts here in the forum, it's simple as that since it would be against the rules you believe in. As long as the OP isn't ban evading he can create a new account with the username he likes multiple times without creating any issues in the forum.

I assume it is not a technical issue, and that the profile UserId (numeric) is what is used as a primary key in the underlying supportive forum database (and not the username itself). Being not a technical issue, what’s left is a logical reason. The one I can think of as plausible is that forum accounts here have a certain tie to finance. There are sellers, scammers, people you trust and people whom you distrust. Having people being able to change their username freely could easily lead to confusion as to whom you are dealing with. In a worst-case scenario, a trusted forum member could change his username, and have the old username taken by a scammer.

Only Theymos or the administrator or the admin of the forum can do that they an option in their admin panel that they can modify member's usrname, you did not specify why do you need to change your username if there was no history here that Theymos have changed anyone's name here

Usually forums don't allow members to change due to database conflicts and also avoid identity confusion.

There are only two scenarios that users can change their usernames:
- Donating 50 BTC to the forum donation fund, then change usernames.
- Asking for help from admins in very very special reasons, then waiting for replies and help. Months ago, I saw one user woke up after months or years (I do not remember precisely, honestly). That user asked for help to change that account's username to anything else that different than his/her real name. Then, hours or days later, that account's username changed to randomly one. That what I saw but as I said I did not remembered where I saw that case.

I think that's not possible? I saw some posts about the beginner's guide and see that one's account cannot be renamed.

There is literally no issue in creating a new account in here. Many people have alt accounts (theymos included ). There is a HUGE difference between having another account or changing accounts and cheating bounties, signature campaigns, farming trust/merit, etc with multiple accounts.Or else, why don't you try to donate for the development of this forum?

Your account is almost brand new. Just go ahead and create a new account, there is no other practical way to change your username, exceptions can be made though.
