Firstly i think that the most used type of wallet are web wallets.
Because they are easy to setup (being registered) and more portability.
Software wallets are popular too but less portable comparing with web wallets.

Other alternative clients have problems time to time.
Web wallets, hell no. If you don't hold private keys you don't have coins.

I only use Schildbach mobile wallet and cold storage. I should be more trusting and consider online wallets but I just can't. If I lose my BTC I want to be the person responsible for the loss, not some hacker somewhere.
I voted for software wallet as I'm familiar with it and it most suits for my requirement of securing my hard earned bitcoins. Cold storage and having control over private keys are the reasons I still prefer software wallets.
Software wallet for me is just good preference. I need to have access to my Bitcoins, but I preffer to have control of it on my computer. That`s why.
My vote goes for web wallets, i believe blockchain being the most used.
For me the only wallet I use is Bitcoin Core. It has never let me down so far. Its only downside is that it might take a while to open and sync, but that's not a problem if you do something else in the meanwhile.
What is most used type of wallet is online web based wallet in my point of view blockchain.info is no.1 but personally I am using both software wallet Bitcoin Core and blockchain successfully and will keep continue.I think there are majority of users which use more than one type of wallets like me.
I use Web wallets. I know many people think that it is insane to use them, but I think since you can't be 100% safe using any wallet, why not use a convenient one then.

For everyday use Copay is a very good solution. It's very simple, SPV, connects easily to the network and gives you a lot of options: like multisig, shared wallets etc.
1. I mostly used/using web wallets. Because most of the time, when my PC is not with me web wallets will be the one and only choice to spend bitcoin.

Not to mention of innate insecurity of web and cloud solutions is well known. Instead of web wallet why don'y you use software wallet with simplified validation.
I think that web wallets are the most used wallets among the Bitcoin community. They are the easiest to use and are a fast alternative to software wallets which provide more security over convenience.
well i mostly use only online wallets such as blockchain.info or something like that as i dont have too much bitcoins so im not afraid of it being lost
web wallet, because of the ease of use and flexibility, not only on the desktop can also be installed on android (ex: blockchain.info)
Mine most used type of bitcoin wallet is the web version. I currently use the blocktrail bitcoin wallet to hold my bitcoin.
You should add android/mobile phone wallet, for daily spending I used mycelium, it can used anywhere, anytime as long as you bring your phone, usually I bring my phone anywhere.
Well maybe i should individualised it but with Mobile phone, i think the majority are using blockchain.info or coinbase or mycelium. For the first 2 better to consider them as web wallets, for mycelium ~ software wallet? This is a little bit confusing
You should have allowed multiple voting, as I use both online wallets, paper wallets and software wallets. However i voted for online wallets as they are the ones i use mostly.

I've been using blockchain.info ever since I got into bitcoins.
Would've probably used the gox exchange had I gotten into this earlier so I guess I did dodge a bullet in a way even though I missed cheap coins.

My guess would probably be the blockchain.info online wallet. It is so easy for newbies to use.
