Hello CK,

I have had my two A6s mining together here for about 3 weeks now.
They consistently hash about 6.8 Th total as indicated on OpenWRT.

Initially my weekly Hashrate was climbing towards 6 but about 3-4 days ago it suddenly dropped below 5 and now shows a daily average of 3.8Th .

Do you have any ideas what happened?

Thanks and regards

Hi.

With the same hashrate my "derp" is decreasing. Everything is correct?

A greeting.

Pool restarted without any issues, most miners just reconnected without any drop in hashrate.

Apart from some minor theoretical bug fixes, the pool stats diff will now show 1 decimal place precision, and there is now an extra page of information that can be referenced by the pool stats page which shows all active miners sorted from biggest to smallest. This is a very busy page but includes some extra information which some have been desiring.

I'm doing some minor maintenance on the pool code and will be restarting the pool within the next hour for the updates. Hopefully there should be minimal downtime all going well.

EDIT: I won't be around long enough after the restart to ensure everything's okay so I'll hold off till tomorrow at least.

Is that just this pool (pool.ckpool.org) ,  or is solo (solo.ckpool.org) also included.

Just want to know since solo is my backup and if both going down, I will probably add a third to rig just in case down for awhile and at least I can keep hashing during updates.
It will only be this pool. The planned restart will happen now within the next hour.

Was wondering if there was any major profitability differences from this ckpool, kano pool and slush over lets say a few months?
There is no magical way to change mining profitability, it comes down to fees and luck. The fee here is zero. The luck I have no control over. All I can do to offset any other issues where losses occur is minimise the risk of block orphans and never mine empty blocks, which I've put great effort into doing.

Instead of posting in a different forum, I want to ask here because I intend to add more hashing power to this pool.

Irrelevant of where you are buying your cloud mining (Nicehash, MRR, Etc.) from, what range (in either BTC/TH/DAY or /BTC/PH/DAY) of purhcase price do you consider valuable today?  Also, what is the max you would consider paying for hashing power?

I have been on the bubble about getting miners that can actually provide worthwhile hashing capacity (my U1 has been good to get familiar with the basics of getting going, but will never produce anything valuable), and with the little bit of BTC I have now, I would consider putting it with MRR, but want to make sure that if I do that I'm not buying hashpower at a rate that would not provide a ROI to re-invest back into more hash power here.

Unlike so many of the other new pool members who have been looking for the easy hand out of info from CK and the other senior memebers, I am totally on board with the process here, and can wait for the payouts, I need to dig some more on the pricing of rented power. Getting feedback from the people doing it just makes sense.

Here's to some Block Luck!

Hi, I just moved from mining at Slush to the ckpool mining at around 500GH/s using a BFL Monarch (about to add another).

Was wondering if there was any major profitability differences from this ckpool, kano pool and slush over lets say a few months?

I know that the payout rate is much less but that should average out reward over time. This would mean mainly the changes in difficulty and lack of fees should really effect it the overall profitability.

sorry guys, MRR switched my rigs to kano during the outage and never switched back and i didn't even know about it. just noticed the hash rate drop now and had to switch the rigs back manually.
Best news I've heard all day, have a merit point Smiley

Thanks, just noticed the new merit thingy. I'll set up a script to monitor my hash and notify me so that hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Guys just note that MRR has their management proxy setup to failover without priority (or one that I can't see). Thus once you get disconnected or have a socket failure with a pool, it will switch to the next available one and they don't seem to revert back to the higher priority pool once it comes back online. It's a huge pain when it gets disconnected and there is need to reset the pool lists for each miner.

For anyone looking to monitor the pool and their workers, you can consider either writing your own code or cron job to poll the server else you can just signup for a monitor service like http://www.monitis.com/ or https://www.pingdom.com/ etc and configure it to read the JSON and read the worker number at regular intervals at the stats page that has been setup by CK http://ckpool.org/users/xxxxxxxxxx

@CK last thing, the subdomain name is a bit of a pain to remember and will cause more questions here for sure once people start using it more. Eg currently:

Website:
Pool = pool.ckpool.org - OK
Solo = solo.ckpool.org - OK

Stratum Server:
Pool = pool.ckpool.org - OK
Solo = solo.ckpool.org - OK

Stats Page:
Pool = ckpool.org - EH?
Solo = pool.ckpool.org & solo.ckpool.org - Both pulls our the same stats.

Not sure if it's just me cos I am mining on both or is this universal and will cause confusion to some. Just my humble suggestion.

What does MMR stand for?

Measels, Mumps and Rubella. Haha

MRR is Mining Rig Rentals.

I like using MRR, even though I don't rent out my miners, because it gives good historical data on my hash rate and such.

...I guess on the bright side it should be easier to move up on getting paid if we find another couple of blocks.  tbh I'm here more as a hobby than to get paid at this point.  I need more hashing power...lol

I'm in the same boat. Hobbyist, but jonesing for more hashing power.

So how does one obtain 5+PH? Like I mentioned, I'm a hobbyist and the fastest stand-alone miner I've seen does about 14TH/s. Do they have a warehouse with hundreds or thousands of S9s on shelves? Are there other industrial mining machines?

well could be a warehouse of gear

or rental gear.

MMR

and  Nicehash   rent gear to miners

I got sick of watching the diff numbers go up. I rented 13.5TH for 14 hours. Come on, block. Block block block.
