I have the same problem here... I need the private keys to clam the forked coins, but mycellium gives me only the 12 seeds. So I plan to move my btc out to another wallet, try to extract my private keys from the seeds using some suspicious tool on github  Grin

https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39

Then I hope to get this PK and insert somewhere where I can get the forked coins without compromise my BTCs.

Do you guys think this will work well?

Nothing funny has happened after installing electron wallet but since the dev is not open about who they are then i wouldnt keep anything in electron wallet after you claim your bitcoin cash.  I sent my bitcoin cash to viabtc.

you will need to contact bittrex about the bitcoin cash

the master seed or master key you get from electron wallet is only good for electron wallet.  once you empty the wallet and transfer bitcoin or bitcoin cash to another wallet or exchange that master seed private key is only for electron wallet.  just dont use electron wallet again and all is good

Won't Mycellium wallet be compromised by entering your master seed on a website?

very simple rule
when you had your BTC in time of fork in the wallet you own private keys for, you can claim them

when you had your BTC in time of fork in the exchange which reinbursed your BCH automaticaly, you have them

otherwise you don't have them ... sorry (maybe some exchanges will change their mind and you will get your coins later this year ....)

I transferred my Bitcoin balance from Coinbase to a Mycelium wallet.

Where do I transfer the balance to get my Bitcoin cash?

I think you can't get any bitcoin cash if you are just transfer your bitcoin from your coinbase after the segwit activation you can't get any bitcoin cash..
But if you hold bitcoin to the electrum or any address with private keys you can transfer the bitcoin in the new wallet  just to safe of your bitcoin and import the private keys of your old bitcoin address you use where you holding bitcoin during segwit activation or before segwit.
To the electron wallet and wait to sync and get your bcc..

I transferred around $500 from Mycelium to Coinbase on 2nd August after the hard fork. Do you think I can still get my bitcoin cash?
You must try to ask coinbase about that If the coinbase will be distributed the bitcoin cash to the bitcoin holders and you will get your bitcoin cash and if that was not and say bye for your bitcoin cash because it will be sold by the coinbase team.  Cheesy It depends on the exchange site itself.

It's not connected to your Mycelium wallet. The twelve words that you have written down were the master seed aka private key from the Bitcoin ledger. That's why those twelve words are so important. If someone gets your twelve words then they can transfer your Bitcoin anywhere.

Just some questions.

Did you own Bitcoin BEFORE August 1st?

Mycelium Wallet will give you a code to accept incoming Bitcoin transfers, that isn't the private key.

Did you get the twelve words when you backed up your Mycelium wallet?

Ok, I followed the advice and got it done.

First off follow the advice about electron cash.  There are too many red flags and if you have a large amount of Bitcoin that you cannot stand to lose do steps to protect yourself.

Install electron cash on a computer that doesn't have your Bitcoin wallet or any information about your Bitcoin. Use a virtual machine if you can.

When you get to the option to select new wallet etc. Select you have a existing seed or master seed. This is your list of twelve words that you got when you did a backup of your Mycelium wallet

Type the words in with spaces. Example "one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve"

You'll notice that the next box in the lower rightbcorner is greyed out

Click the Options box. Put a check in the BIP138 box

Now the next box is available. Click next and when the wallet connects to the Bitcoin cash server you will see your Bitcoin cash balance.

I strongly suggest you transfer the Bitcoin cash out to an exchange that supports Bitcoin cash transfers.

Delete the electron cash wallet after you transfer the Bitcoin cash out and if your really paranoid reformat the computer.  If you used a virtual machine then no worries

EMPTY the Mycelium Wallet back to the exchange Coinbase etc or to another Bitcoin Wallet

Now do what you'd like with the Bitcoin cash. It's free money
I tried above steps. I don't see any Bitcoin cash. Am I doing something wrong? How do I know that it has connected to my existing MyCelium wallet?
