We've had a number of support requests regarding why we are offering markets on a draw in the knockout rounds of the World Cup, and the grading of bets when a team wins a match on penalties.

There are more details listed in our sportsbook rules (https://www.cloudbet.com/en/sportsbook_rules), but generally speaking if you would like to bet on which team will progress, please bet on the "To Qualify" markets; if you would like to bet on whether a team will win, lose or draw in regular time please select the "Match Odds" markets.

Likewise, please note that goals scored in a penalty shootout do not count towards Over/Under bets.

Some highlights:

- There’s a clear distinction between the predicted top four teams and the rest of the field – though one of those spots will open up after the early elimination of Spain

- Two teams from Group G, including Portugal - who are currently at 40/1 to win the entire tournament - are among the five favourites to reach the semis

- Only 9% of entrants have picked the Netherlands  - who at 10.50 are currently our fourth placed favourites to win the tournament - to make it, fewer than picked England

- Despite their very tough group, more people picked the USA to advance this far than Mexico

- World #6 Switzerland are not widely fancied, with 17 teams picked ahead of them (including Russia, Ecuador, and Nigeria)

Over the next few days we’ll be sharing some of the statistics from our 2014 World Cup Bracket Promotion, giving a little insight into what our players think is going to happen through each round of play. First up, we’ll take a look at who you thought would qualify from the group stage:



- Brazil and Argentina are both heavily favoured to advance, with 99% of entrants expecting each to reach the knock-out rounds

- Spain, Germany and France also received strong support, in each instance over 90% of participants expected these teams to advance

- Intriguingly, Russia and Colombia are both more widely favoured to advance than last World Cup runners up, the Netherlands

- Three Lions supporters may be disappointed to learn that just 63% of participants believe England have what it takes to advance to the round of 16

- Likewise Swiss supporters, whose team was picked by only 55% of respondents despite their 6th placing in the latest FIFA World Rankings

- The most competitive group looks likely to be Group C, where favourites Colombia will be battling for knockout round spots with Ivory Coast, Japan and Greece

- At the other end of the spectrum, participants very heavily fancied Germany and Portugal to move on from Group G, with extremely few contestants selecting USA or Ghana
