eleuthria: any update?

Still under constant attack.  Not a whole lot else to say at this point.  Attempts to push new servers out as proxies are met with those servers immediately getting hit.

eleuthria time to wake back up.. still having issues.
he is still awake - and aware

time to make sure you have failovers set
2 or 3 other pools, then p2pool then solo - if you care about supporting the network through these types of attacks Smiley

I've mentioned it in the past.  When a server misses it's heartbeat check 5 times in a row, or the users drops well below a reasonable number, my phone tells me.  It tells me by playing a terrible techno remix of Steve Balmer screaming "DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS!"  This continues for 30 seconds.  It will then stop for 30 seconds.  If the heartbeat is missed again, it plays it again.  This repeats until the problem is fixed.
That's pretty awesome, That would pretty much wake me up too.

Difficulty 2 was the default for workers for quite a while now.  I did finally drop Difficulty 1 entirely earlier this week as an option, but the pool servers still cached the default difficulty of 1 for most workers that had already been set to diff1.  When the servers were restarted, the cache was refreshed and all diff1 workers were updated to diff2.
Ah, makes sense now. I'm only worried as I've had a single BE mining at diff1 for like 10 days till now. I may just move it to 50btc now. I wonder if it's worth bothering to do tho as I pretty much mine 24/7 with it..

Ack! Seems like difficulty 1 shares got the boot. Was this a recent update? Also stupid DDOS, it's pretty rude to wake up to find that annoying green glow. I'm glad it's mostly sorted out, It's Pretty damned late and eleuthria got it sorted pretty fast.

When it comes to keeping the site/servers up eleuthria is on top of the game. Damn fine job!  Grin Cool

He probly has some kind of trainhorn or something hooked up to an alert email to wake him up.  Cheesy

We Are All One
Think it maybe a government at work?

It appears that coinbase/bitmit/btcguild/ everything else is back up./

Isn't it always? And with the Oct 1 bomb looming over, seems quite realistic rather than theory

Oct. 1 bomb?

US Gov't (potential) shutdown
