Looks like http://port80.btcguild.com/ now redirects to https://www.btcguild.com/ which isn't overly useful for mining behind a fussy firewall, is this going to get fixed/reverted?

If not, are there alternative http/https addresses I can use with BTC Guild?

Just because I keep seeing people not know this:

BTC Guild does pay Namecoins (Merged Mining)!

As long as you're set to PPLNS, you have been generating namecoins for months.  Just go to your settings page, and enable "Show Namecoin Summary" under Dashboard Settings.

I haven't determined full details yet, hard to determine an optimal price drop when they still sell at this price, but I am determined they will drop once I'm confident I can maintain a 24-hour or less turnaround on orders.  I will not be dropping my prices as low as some of the Group Buy options available, so anybody looking for the absolute best deal would probably be better off checking that subforum.

There are things more important than absolute lowest price. You making buying easy and prompt. You spend large amounts of your time in these forums and supporting your users. Heck you even provide information to other pool's users. Unfortunately, .334 Gh/s is becoming way too small. We would need a house full of Erupters just to keep up. I'm holding off buying more for more than the coupon price. Hopefully, one of the new blades will come in at a price hobbyests can afford. Soon.

In the mean time i'm gonna try and save some of my BTCs so i can afford the next big thing.

334 Gh/s is becoming too small, but 334 Mh/s is becoming too small a little more quickly. Cheesy

you missed the decimal point.

Back to a positive luck for the difficulty!

Update on Block Erupters:  My shipment arrived yesterday.  Over 1,000 units went out in the last 24 hours, clearing all US backorders, and a huge portion of international.  All remaining international orders should be out by Saturday, and US orders are being filled in under 24 hours.  Prices will likely see a drop on Monday after the backorder is cleared, giving me a weekend to relax (at least from the packing side of things).

Still no word on additional coupon units from ASICMINER yet.  I am considering my own coupon/discount program for past orders after the next price drop.  It won't be quite as drastic as what ASICMINER's coupons are, but it won't be something that's exclusive to a fraction of past orders either.  Expect more details after all orders (including international) are out the door.

That would be pretty cool in regards to your own coupon/discount program. Any hints on what you are going to drop prices to on monday/any hints on how much of a discount for previous buyers?

I have a question about the ASICminer blades and this pool. I read that the blades needed a Stratum Proxy. Is this because they use Getwork? and if so, could they be aimed at the "not reccomended" Getwork servers here and forgo the Proxy? Huh

Yes, they can, but there's a reason getwork is not recommended.  As posted earlier, there is currently a plan to get rid of getwork entirely in the next month or so.

Tongue so proxy is the only way to go huh. I think my head is gonna explode. Anyone know if home routers play nice with computers that demand a specific IP address? I saw a link on how to do this, but my luck hasn't been great lately.
Two ways to do this.  One is to assign the IP address statically in the computer's setup.  Alternatively leave the computer to get the IP address via DHCP and set the router to always give the same IP to the computer, (based on its MAC address).  I do the second and it works fine.  (Set up is dependendent on operating system and router make/model of course, but I think they can all do this.)

I also have a stratum proxy set up and it's really easy to do.  And if it's on the same computer as your miner you don't need a fixed IP as you can just use localhost or 127.0.0.1.

How do I contact an admin?

When I set up my account, I used my [email protected] as the E-Mail address so I would get notifications as an SMS instead of an E-Mail.  However, my new phone truncates some of the message, so I can't see the majority of a confirmation link to change my payout address.  I'd like to change the E-Mail address on the account, but that gives me the same problem, a truncated confirmation link.

I can prove the "E-Mail address" is mine if the message is short enough that important information isn't truncated.

Send an email to [email protected] with the username and I can prepare a special confirmation link for your phone.
E-Mail sent.  Thanks!

No the old non-USB ~10GH/s Blades cannot be driven by cgminer.
They have their own low feature miner code inside them so you are forced to proxy ...
The new USB blades (I've no idea what GH/s they are) cannot be driven by cgminer either - we don't have them and know nothing about them.
Looks like I got one right!  I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. Cheesy  (Unlike my mining.)

I believe you are right that the existing blades use Getwork, and so would need a proxy to work with Stratum servers.  While you could point to the BTC Guild getwork servers they'll be going away real soon, (if you read a few posts above), and if you hook up more equipment to them eleuthria is likely to come and smack you upside the head.  If they can be driven from cgminer or the like, then the Stratum to Getwork is already taken care of, but I don't think cgminer supports the ASICminer blades.

(The question made perfect sense to me.)
