This is a lovely idea. Once we triple our numbers of sig carriers we can make this happen easily Smiley
You keep teasing us with mysterious new signature Cheesy
I didn't mean we the participants should decide who the winner should be, but it is possible that you hear our voices along with Coinslotty team, maybe we can give valuable feedback.
My suggestion is to do that for new design of ANN thread competition:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-coinslotty-ann-design-competition-rewards-up-to-200-5449713

Congratulations @rat03gopoh.

Not sure how the smerit is calculated, your 5 merit converted to 2 smerit.
5 merits gets converted to 2.5 smerit but 0.5 merits cannot be sent to other users and does not get displayed. If you send out the 2 smerits you got and receive 1 extra merit at a later time you get an added 0.5 smerit for that. That 0.5 + you not shown 0.5 merit now would give 1 smerit which would be shown on your profile.

Signature designer - start @$10 - PM me!
After careful testing out all the five takes, the team decided to move on with Rat03gopoh's design.
I don't wanna miss saying something in this thread before it's locked.

It's surprising that it really was lucky to be the winner this time. If I compare the professionalism of other contestants by looking at their portfolios, I'm not confident enough to enter every contest. However, I must have the courage to compete if I wanna be better, and today coinslotty has given me the opportunity to taste being a winner.  Grin

thanks @Zwei @lucifur @jayce for the congratulations, I wont doubt any of your works and @Payjoe93 too

I was just lucky enough in previous contests that he hadn't developed his skill yet. Congratulations, Rat03gopoh! Finally, a decent rival Cool

Thank you SirJohn for the contest! And honestly, if I can choose other design than mine, I will definitely pick Rat03gopoh's design as well even without looking at his work. I'm completely aware of his designing skill and hard work in every contest both of us have joined. I was just lucky enough in previous contests that he hadn't developed his skill yet. Congratulations, Rat03gopoh! Finally, a decent rival Cool

PS. Sorry I'm running out of merit   Thank you for the merit SirJohn! Not sure how the smerit is calculated, your 5 merit converted to 2 smerit. I'll put that on the winner announcement post. Cheers!

Too Little, Too Late.
So, for now, the vote was done by our acquisition team, and the following was taken in to account:
#1. The design of the logo, the most important part of the signature
#2. The communication of the USP's, how clearly are they shown
#3. Scaling of the signature, desktop, mobile, different browsers

After careful testing out all the five takes, the team decided to move on with Rat03gopoh's design. There will be some slight color changes, but his sig is the winner of this competition, and the additional $100 were sent to his account right now.

Others did well and I’m happy to report that not even one member took advantage of me, people could have easily applied with a random sig just to collect the $75 and move on, but no one did that. All five applicants had unique approaches and if I would need to repeat the exercise, I would definitely pick out the same members. If you’re looking for someone to design your signature, you will not miss with either one of them.

Let me go over them quickly:

@Payjoe93 - Quick turn around, was the fastest of them all. He understood the task and implemented everything that was requested

@Jayce - Had the best BB-code logo, you can see that he has experience with this type of services.

@Zwei - Crisp design, loved the creative approach here as well.

@Lucifur - Had an interesting take on the logo with the BB code that I really liked, creative Avatar as well

As stated in the beginning of the competition, everyone can keep the $75, which is exactly (or a bit more) than everyone asked for in their service threads originally.

I will create an overview of all the avatars and sigs sent over by the guys soon, and then lock the thread. For now I just wanted to announce the winner and send over the money.

Thanks everyone!

I'm very sad that I didn't win, and I'm crying right now at the corner (just kidding Grin)

Congratulation to rat03gopoh, I can't wait to see his signature around the forum, and thank you SirJohnVonSlotty for putting this contest together.

Stay awesome guys!

+1 to this, would be fun to vote on what I'll be wearing in the future Grin

This is a lovely idea. Once we triple our numbers of sig carriers we can make this happen easily Smiley Right now it would be a bit unfair since we are so few, and there are established relationships in place. But with 15 of us that would be a different story. Something like a pool for every competition result, managed within the main coinslotty ANN or something towards that line. Will definitely get back to this idea since we will be upgrading the branding as we move up the ladder, thanks for the feedback!

One interesting thing that I found out is that almost everyone except the ones with tons of experience struggled with the circular design, it seems like transferring the logo into BB code is the most challenging thing.
And even then, it varies per browser. I use 4 different browsers, and most signatures look different in all of them.

We are three days away from the end of the competition.

#1. @Lucifur delivered his take.
#2. @Payjoe93 as well, and I see that he's carrying it to test out the compatibility.
#3. @Jayce also delivered his version
#4. @Zwei did it as well
#5. @rat03gopoh is the only one still pending.

So far I'm happy with all of the results. One interesting thing that I found out is that almost everyone except the ones with tons of experience struggled with the circular design, it seems like transferring the logo into BB code is the most challenging thing. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to finalizing this soon.

Waiting for rat03gopoh Smiley

Designing for everyone

I love your branding Smiley When you get some time send me some of your crafts via PM, would love to learn more about your side gig. I always appreciate people who can make things with their hands (since my arts and crafts skills are pathetic, I only know how to type Cheesy). One of my closest friends loves to create stuff out of wood, with several musical instruments in his portfolio. Since I (also) don't know how to play instruments, I just ordered a simple cutting board - and it's always a fun thing to see what he comes up with.

Hi! Thanks, I'll send them to you soon! It just took practice and patience to have the skills I have now.

Btw, I got surprised at receiving a deposit in my BTC address and saw that you picked me to participate. Thank you very much! I can't wait to start creating the design!

Hello there
My signature design skills are also not too bad. Although I've never offered my services publicly, I do have my portfolio gleaned from private orders, some contests, etc. Don't remember some of the designs I've made (I've never collected them in one place), only those https://imgur.com/a/oq96e0P that I managed to find in my gallery.

Anyway, this is the last sig. contest that I entered. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/contest-bitcoin-mixer-sinbad-signature-and-avatar-set-design-d-win-250-5430222

Can't wait to see the end result, you have some pretty competent applicants!

Don't get intimidated by the big guys, you can always compete with them if you put enough effort and time in to your skillset. You did a great job with the affiliate logo, I just think you might struggle a bit with BB codes, but let's wait until Tuesday next week.

I know there's not much in it but if you allow me to participate in this contest, I'd definitely give my best to create the best signature for Coinslotty.

Ah, a design contest. Love them. I would like to participate! I'm a logo and a product designer with not much experience in the casino industry, but I did once create a logo for an affiliate (I can't disclose their name). You can check it here https://imgur.com/a/J0VsNj8. The rest of my portfolio is probably not that relevant for this project but I can PM it if you want.

Designing for everyone
Hi SirJohnVonSlotty and eveyone, I'm Lucifur. I'm a part time graphic designer and I do create signatures but I haven't had a chance to update my portfolio with new designs because of the big competition in here and I was also focused with creating crafts irl. I create sculptures and crochet items and try to sell them.

Anyway, here is my service thread here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5282547

I know there's not much in it but if you allow me to participate in this contest, I'd definitely give my best to create the best signature for Coinslotty.

I'll try to create the better one! Wish me luck xLays

You might have been aware of the common issue on signature design, which some of my works don't look good on mobile. It's quite tricky though which you need to choose between mobile or desktop to maximize your design. Since I assume that most users using desktop, then I'd likely prefer that as reference. However I'll try my best to make the design looks good on both of desktop and mobile. Good luck guys! Hope my application gets selected by OP.

SirJohnVonSlotty, my suggestion is to use only new logo/font design for new signature designs (if that is final version), that way people won't be confused with outdated graphics.

That's the point of this exercise, all the old design will be scraped once we launch the redesigned version Smiley

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK:
•   On Wednesday, the 19th of April, I will pick out up to 5 applications that stood out the most. Each of the applicants will get $75 to their wallet, together with a design package that will contain the latest design assets for Coinslotty, together with the USP’s. You’ll get to keep the $75 regardless if you win or not.
•   After the 5 applicants deliver their take on a set of signatures (full, sr.mem, hero/leg) and avatars, latest on the 26th of April, an internal vote will be carried out, and the winner of the competition will get an additional $100 to their account.
I like it, it's something else than the usual "only the winner gets paid".

After that, starting from May, your work will be displayed on profiles of several high-ranking members of the forum, including LoyceV, Efialtis, Cryptofrka, Trofo, Dkbit98 and more, and on top of that, your profile and marketplace thread will be promoted in all our forum threads, as well as our upcoming Community page directly on our site.

Hey Smiley

I would like to apply!

I have 3 years of agency-side experience as a UX designer, with some smaller freelance projects. I recently created the CoinGorilla.com logo, as well as the logo for EsportsHeadlines.com. Regarding signatures, I’m gonna be honest with you I just now started experimenting with them, so I have no real experience making sigs, but I would appreciate the opportunity Smiley

I don’t have a marketplace thread (yet), my BTC Wallet is this one - bc1qx6j024p6ha8j34yvgc32xjfx9y6gcxjrsfxg0g

Coinslotty, the online casino for crypto enthusiasts, is now entering phase 3 - and I'm happy to share a portion of the new design that we have been working on Smiley

After successfully closing off our last review campaign, we are now launching several design competitions to complement the new design language, and our first competition will cover a set of signatures and avatars.

Here’s how to apply:

APPLICATION PROCESS:
•   Simply reply in this thread and introduce yourself, your design service, portfolio and BTC Wallet. Priority will be given to users who have experience designing signatures, but I will also pick out a few newbies. Don’t get discouraged if you’re fresh, just do your best in presenting your skills.
•   There are no member rank requirements, if you’re skilled you’ll get accepted, your posting habits are not important.
•   Applications are open from today, the 14th of April, and I will close them next week, on Tuesday the 18th of April.

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK:
•   On Wednesday, the 19th of April, (or earlier) I will pick out up to 5 applications that stood out the most.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'm here Smiley
