Honestly anyone can create a account selling post by using other users account info. If we believe it that both of the account is owned by one then its not gonna be fair IMO. It can create from a bad intention of the account seller where he wants to spoil that legendery members profile reputation
As an example if someone use OPs information and make a account selling post from another account then its nothing but a cheap try to hit OPs reputation I think. But one thing is pretty much sure that account sell poster is enough guilty to be tagged and rest decission could be made after getting more evidence against  this same owner issue.
These are not related accounts.⚉ I simply asked the account owner to comment on the change in writing style, changes in preferences regarding the “Local” and a significant time gap between posts. Shocked

The account Danysee was hacked earlier and it's worthy to paint that account. This user can easily scam others.

Baiting him into sending you a private message in the forum with the account he is selling will be enough to confirm that he is selling that account.
I see no reason for obtaining reliable information -  by deception.
I just suggested something for you to have a way of obtaining reliable information. People doing investigative work always do that and it is their only way of pulling out the truth from these cautious people like how the cops doing undercover and entrapment operations.

It wasn't my impression that OP was trying to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt but to identify accounts that might be up for sale.  As to the part of your post that I snipped out, I agree and wish someone had done that.
Yeah, someone needs to do an extra mile when it comes to obtaining evidence as these people are really just creating accounts in order to sell the real account they are offering. Tagging what they are selling is the important thing to do here.

I don't believe now that account seller will use exact information about his sale account. I don't think account should be tag even match exactly mentioned by seller. Who know they might use others activity details. Imagine, a seller post a account for sale, if his account details match with me then why should I got tag? Because I don't know about it that seller using my activity and merit details. Could not tag just for possible sale. Any one can create new account and start advertise for account sale. So only deserve tag who are seller.

There are a LOT of very smart people on bitcointalk who do a lot of hard work collecting information, and my brain sometimes resembles a snake pit wherein all the snakes are not working together to process the info.  Thus, I will sometimes ask for things to be clarified like I did here.

Yes!  It always amazes me when I post something and someone argues against it citing a post I made years ago.

Opinions and facts change.  I was not blessed with a good memory, and as the years go on, it gets worse.

I am less effective today as a scam buster then I was five years ago.*  Sad

The Pharmacist, Your manner of speaking is touching. The "mind game" you play with me is waste of time.
Lol, I'm not trying to play games with your mind.  Sometimes when there's a lot of information displayed in a post I have a hard time assimilating all of it and drawing the correct conclusions from it--and when it comes down to a case of whether I'm going to give someone a neg or not, I want to make sure I'm clear on the facts and make the right decision.

As I said, I'm going to keep an eye on the accounts in question and see if there are any password or e-mail changes, and if there are any unusual merit transactions.  Those things would be good evidence that an account was sold, even if it's not rock-solid proof.

Quite right
Just clarify this for me, and it's OK if you explain it to me like I'm an idiot:
The Pharmacist, Your manner of speaking is touching. The "mind game" you play with me is waste of time.. But I agree, there are situations when it is advantageous to build a dialogue in such a way that people's expectations are lower than your capabilities.  Wink
The suspected accounts for sale are Danydee and foroplus based on the information provided by the account seller, even though the information provided by the seller doesn't exactly match those two accounts.
The seller has published quite a lot of information.. so that I could make logical assumptions. Well, and considering that bitcointalk ... this is probably the only place where there are no coincidences, (2.5m )

Anybody can create an anonymous sales thread for any account.
It's quite likely the seller is trying to scam someone with an account he doesn't own.
I know the first sentence here is true.  I'm not so sure about the second one.  This could very well be a legitimate account sale, but there's no way to tell for sure.

You should have investigated it further so that you can provide more convincing proof on your case

Either way, I'm going to keep an eye on the two suspect accounts and watch for signs of either one changing hands.

I thought about this in the first place, but suggested that the seller did not know that it was possible to identify an account without a username / id / w'address.
You should have investigated it further so that you can provide more convincing proof on your case, you should have acted as a (fake) buyer in order to know if he is really selling an account or is just trying to scam you. Baiting him into sending you a private message in the forum with the account he is selling will be enough to confirm that he is selling that account.

Maybe, maybe not. But as long as you can't know it for sure, you'll have to assume the accounts aren't being sold.
I've just checked 118 accounts with 18 Merit (last Friday), none of them are an exact match. I've tried to find a match with different account sellers before, but never got one. Some even use combinations of Posts and Activity that aren't possible, so most likely the data is made up.
