It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye
A little off topic but.. anyone have information about the S.DICE on Havelock/ is there gonna be a dividend payment this month?

ummm, how is that off-topic? They will have dividends on Havelock if there are dividends paid out by S.DICE.

You should check out the thread for G.SDICE, there is more information there.

Are you referring to this thread or is there another? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bf-and-btct-gamma-satoshidice-pass-through-102181

Thanks!

Oops, they were talking about it in the G.MPOE thread. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2556834
I will probably remove the trade suspension by tomorrow if everything goes as planned.
Right now it seems like all potential threats have been dealt with.

I am not sure many agree that sd is the most fun. Sending to an address and then staring at your client or refreshing their website to find out if you won or lost? Now if they logged in, had blinking lights, fun website, etc... With instant feedback.. Yea maybe.

The blockchain disagrees with you.

People use/play sdice much more than your proposed alternative that I think also exists?

I'm not a gambler so I could be totally wrong. As an investor I look at the numbers and I think they strongly indicate that you are wrong in your assessment that not many find sdice fun.

I cannot debate that sd is not successful. It is. But using the blockchain to determine fun is not how i was thinking.
I have no idea how much of that usage is ppl running martingale scripts for example. Are they having fun or was code freely available for them to mess with and it was hard coded to use sd? Does that represent a large percentage of usage? If code was available for a diff website that had a better edge for players would they migrate to it?

I guess there is no correct answer as everyone has a diff definition of fun. Maybe a poll would be useful in this case.
I and others who have posted here found it boring once the novelty wore off. Surely you must be able to imagine ways to make it more fun? Or is its current form the pinnacle of fun to you?

I think it's fair to start calling the SDICE profit as the "Stupidity Index Of BTC Community". As of today, it's at 75567 Smiley

Latest value for the stupidity index can be found from this thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=80312.1480

Why is it fair to call gamblers stupid?

I think most gamblers are very aware that the odds are against winning. They still do it for the fun and are willing to pay that price.

In fact sdice gamblers get the most fun for their buck compared to all other gambling services so they certainly ended up with the best deal available in gambling. Wouldn't call that stupid.

Quality Printing Services by Federal Reserve Bank
(off topic)
Abu22, you understand that those happy days of BTC, where anyone can mine a coins with a CPU or GPU are gone forever.
Crowd driven, kumbaya singing, mining community days are getting replaced by ASIC/whatever miningfarms, run by few greedy fuckers who do everything to become the BTC "banks" of the future... oops... full circle and guess what, we are back where we started to run away from - world, where small gang of greedy scum is controlling your favorite coin. Those same greedy assholes will be setting the tx fees in the future where casual mining is non-existing.

back to SDICE

Bitcoin is something greater than greed
Quote
money > greed
you sure about that? Huh
By that I mean, Bitcoin is not for exploitation of others in return for personal gain. It's the chance to change one of the cogs that work our society, from a well oiled, but fundamentally broken one to a new one that will provide fertile ground to enable the growth of a new adaption of the old that is simply growing from a 'cleaner' source.

The core principles of Bitcoin are a far greater worth than peoples temporary money lust greed. I totally agree, the comment sounds a tad contradictory when saying what is essentially money is > greed..when the greed is what often stems from the thing of value. But yea, I'm more talking along the lines of Bitcoin as a reducing factor in the coercive, self interest perpetuated (at the cost of others) and corrupt nature of governments and think we should strive to parallel just as much as that from within our own Bitconomy. A pipe dream, but we can always ask questions that prevent us from getting too deep into the greedy pocket of others. /endrant.don'tknow.goingtobed.

I know that when the betting pool is empty, the max bet is not 0 - so what if someone wins less than 64 three times in a row?

What if someone wins BTC0.01 on your "game", which is also coincidentally called Satoshi Dice, and also coincidentally has a bunch of vanity addresses that start with "1dice"?

While we're asking questions, why do you keep putting quotation marks around the word 'provably'?

But we can't prove that you are generating fair random numbers. You could be rigging it in your favor! It's possible to let anyone verify your random number generation is fair.

Read up about provably fair gambling.

Okay, I understand your point. Will add a ticker on the website that will tell you the last drawn number.

Will it be okay then?
No! Because we can't prove you are drawing a truly random number.

Seriously, read about provably fair gambling.

Okay, will soon implement a method for 'proving' that the number was truly random.

Thanks for the Response! Smiley

Again, not a shareholder, but S.DICE holders might wish to know:

Eric stated that the betting pool was 6100 BTC.
The lessthan 64 bet has a payout of 999.429x and a max bet of 6.4100 BTC.
999.429 * 6.4100 = 6406.33989

6406.33989 > 6100

That is all. Draw your own conclusions. I am not a laywer or broker, and this is not financial advice.

This (and dooglus' comment) together about made me fall off my chair. It's on reddit now too http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinStocks/comments/1gujup/satoshidice_bankroll_rumored_insufficient/

Erik. Stop hiding.

You still have a plethora of issues to address and for too long you just draw them out crippling what credibility you have left to run a company.

Daily, you're allowing the pie to be cut away in larger and larger pieces. An objective fact is that there are many better sites than SD right now because SD has become too incompetent to keep up. https://twitter.com/PrimeDice/status/346728978129756160

The current plan of yours to withdraw what you claim is your btc from the pool and replace with your month of dividends should NOT be done, it is clearly still a contested matter. You cannot claim that it is unreasonable for shareholders to assume that a sum like that (a core piece of the site workings) is somehow separate from the business assets. With no indication of these belonging to anyone/anything BUT the business. This of course is a key piece of information in determining whether it's worth investing in.

A balance sheet of business assets is needed (and will likely also cause some contest with the current trend of your calculations)

Many costs from previous months also have not been explicitly clarified. (over a month of waiting too get a proper answer relating to these)... These phantom costs suggest foul play by you... If you are innocent, you should be happy to outline the true nature of these, your continual absence of response does not help.

You really should be more present here or hire somebody who is competent at filling a PR role. Was the last one a joke?

What's with all of the FUD? If you don't trust Erik, don't buy shares of SDICE. Sell them so that I can buy them  Grin
It's not FUD, most everything that people are saying is based on empirical fact. I don't even need to own shares to wish that Erik would conduct his business with even some level of integrity and professionalism... The more stories we get of corruption and incompetence, the worse it is for everyone in the Bitcoin community. Bitcoin is something greater than greed, and it's something we shouldn't be let compromised by others.
