In terms of hash rate, right now it's around 60 million ghash.  If BFL ships 20,000 Royal Monarchs plus regular Monarchs, the Hashrate will be an additional 32 million.  Around a 50% increase in hash rate.  If you through all the rest of the companies like KNC, Asicminer, etc.  You're going to double the difficulty.  But then it gets really difficult to try and double it again because there just aren't that many orders out there.  And a lot of miners have switched to Scrypt mining.  Plus, a doubling of the hash rate is going to cause older 65nm and below equipment to go offline for those ordinary people who pay their electric bill.

So I would not expect the Hashrate to triple by August.  It IS going to spike, and ROI is going to be further out, but I believe it'll ROI.

I did the math on the SP30 (the 3x package) and it doesn't look like this hardware will ROI with current prices.
Please correct me if I'm wrong:

As mentioned in the Spondoolies Tech reply that's not the correct price for 3 units if you want to participate in this Group Buy. You can even get less than 4995$ if you have a previous order with any other manufacturer.

Even if it doesn't look like it, i still believe that difficulty is slowing down and let me explain you my view:

Sep 04 2013    86,933,018
Jan 02 2014    1,418,481,395
Apr 05 2014    6,119,726,089

I took these example of past difficulty because they are on similar dates so it's easier to calculate things.

From Sep to Jan we had an increase of 16 times, while from Jan to Apr we have an increase of just ~4.x times.
Let's compare in BTC too. Examples are for 1TH/s:
- with the Sep 4 difficulty - 5.78BTC/day;
- with the Jan 2 difficulty - 0.35BTC/day;
- with the Apr 5 difficulty - 0.07BTC/day.

This is for me a clear sign of slowing down. Also if we take into considerations your example please explain me how do you expect to have a 35 billion difficulty on 29 August and 70 billion just 2 months late which is simply unrealistic. This group buy will add just 5.4 PH in August, maybe 6-7PH in September and 7-8PH in October.
Secondly, considering that there are only 2 companies that i know that are working on their next gen chip (KnC and AM) it also means that there won't be so many units available for sale in that period of time.
Thirdly, if there are more people that think like you then from the start you are wrong because the whole big rush that we witnessed last year is more or less gone this year. Last year i saw Avalon team grab a couple of million $ in a matter of a few days just for chips. People had to pay for assembly too. There were MUCH more of money being invested and a lot FASTER too in mining equipment last year than this year. (i think HF got 25 mil$ from preorders and so on).
So claiming that people will invest a lot more and much faster than the last year is simply wrong and bad intended. There is someone else that pointed the difficulty thing earlier in this thread and i asked him to take difficulty speculations to some other thread. This thread is for people interested in the group buy, not for difficulty speculations. As i see you only have a single post outside Spondoolies threads. If i will delete some of your posts i hope that you understand why.

Edit: It seems that i'm not the only one to think that we can't keep adding MWs like crazy: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6324550

You do realize that indefinite exponential difficulty growth seems unlogical, even impossible.

With the sp30, given the far better power efficiency than most miners, you should be able to mine bitcoin at a profit for some time.

Assuming stable price, at some point the mining income will be no more than electricity cost + small premium, similar to the gpu days before massive price growth.

However, we are still far away from this.

... an average indefinite 19% difficulty growth really doesn´t strike me as conservative.
While predicting difficulty is pure voodo, the only way to do it is with a certain percentage of lesser difficulty growth per period, which will eventually max out somewhere at power cost + 50% or sth.

You're in RoadStress group sale thread. Did you read the PM ?
The hardware cost is much cheaper...

Guy, I have a lot of respect for what you do (and I'm originally from Israel as well), but even adjusted to $4995 per unit, it appears the SP30 doesn't ROI.
Again, this is assuming 19% difficulty increase every 2 weeks, current BTC prices, and timely delivery.

I encourage people to look through my spreadsheet and verify my calculations.

So base on your calculation, your saying by August, that the network would have grown by 4x or 28b difficulty or 200ph or 37,000 (1m rocker chips)5th machines or 150,000 1th (3.75m a1 chips)machines. I am more than sure that there are enough buyers to sustain that, but it seems like a lot of miners are being produced by very fair little companies.

Maybe paypal or wire option? I'm in fiat.
what does mean fiat?

Code:
[23:32:56] ;;wp fiat currency
[23:32:58] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_money |
Fiat money is money that derives its value from government regulation or law.
The term fiat currency is used when a fiat money is used as the main currency of the country.
The term derives from the Latin fiat ("let it be done", "it shall be")

i.e. Cash, dollar... not in Bitcoins

A "regular" currency. (€/$/...)

You can always change fiat to Btc the moment you pay with Btc, giving you the best of both worlds...

Just my 2 cents.
