How to put my coins in cold storage?

Your account is generated from the password you provide. So you can't really put them in 'cold storage'. You just need to devise a very difficult password. Don't keep the password on your computer but store it away in two places. That would equal cold storage.

I recommend a string of 12 random words as a password. This is difficult enough even for the Borg to brute force and easy to write down without the risk of making errors.

where is the whitepaper Huh
Ask a few hundred more times it will speed things up, I'm sure.
Btw, do you want it because you hope it will help establish the coin, or do you want to read it and get a detailed description of the coins internal mechanisms?

Because if it is the later, I have a hunch that you will be disappointed.

I second that. I'm also looking forward to this whitepaper, but I can wait a couple of weeks. As long the quality is ok, that is the most important factor of it.

This account got a massive dump of coin (17 million): 14367295516694207452 -- it then distributed this to 5 other accounts initially in stake payouts then in amounts that don't equate to stakes (i.e. 1 million, 2.5 million etc)... 4 million made it to 3703022566724518417, which then sold it on BTER from the looks of it (seems all BTER transactions go through 6458978651863323362?). That 4m was never broken up into stake amounts, so i'd assume some non-stakeholder (dev?) sold 4M on BTER..?

Your data is solid, but your conclusions are all wrong. How is that you have the patence to look for data in a pain in the ass blockchain explorer, but don't check the distribution spreadsheet? Smiley
1436... is my account, I bought all coins at the auction. I sold full stakes earlier on the forum, and some other amounts later. I sent some (3.5M?) to bter, and sold around 1.8 million. (I'm done selling now, until prices much higher.)

Someone else (there are a few bigger stakeholders who can do it) probably sent much more to bter (someone put up a 8M sell order not long ago, and if they didn't buy it on bter, there is only a few people who has that much coin) but I'm too lazy to find out who.

You caught me there - didn't take much digging in the blockchain, just followed a couple trails and that one was coincidentally suspicious - thanks for clearing it up - will check against stakeholder sheet next time I start digging around in the ol' chain-o-block  Cheesy

30 shares btw - hefty :p

How come only 548 MM is accounted for on the Gdoc?
Take a look at the distribution plan tab in the doc.

Thx,
so what was the average buy in price for the intial distro?

1.4 btc per 598,894 stake or lower?

I have no idea, I think it gradually got higher from free to 0.06 maybe? I didn't pay attention.
Then there was an auction of don't remember how many stakes, 100-150 where the price of a stake were around 0,1-0,15. Then a few days go a selloff of 60 stake from 0.8 to 1.4 BTC per stake.

Hmm wow. I wish this info was available. Makes it hard to decide if i should buy in if im just going to get dumped on by people with 0.1 cost stakes.

I do recall the devs saying that they needed to do another wave of stake sales for food and rent some months ago.. makes ya wonder how much they'll dump.

wish we had a better block explorer.. This one doesn't include block number nor transaction date/time, and you can only search on account #.. Can we extract block data from the client? (still waiting for mine to catch up.. downloaded 500 blocks in ~2 hours, another 1000 to go..)
