Will there be any initial exchanges for this coin after the distribution?
Surely , I think bittrex will add this coin after launch.
They add any coin they can find.

Although I like current logo a lot, but with a new name we'd probably need new logo. My two cents.

UPD: Nah... Looks like a logo for kindergarten.

Node
Next generation cryptocurrency platform built on Node.js

I like it. And it's good that we don't have to change the logo. Maybe choose another color. Orange doesn't look very innovative.

For example to change the color to the color that uses Node (green)

Wow, I keep posting in threads that end up getting locked and I sit there reloading wondering where everyone is LOL  Smiley

I think everything is going perfectly so far, but we need to rebrand now before we really start promoting this. I like my suggestion that I put forth a while back in previous threads:

Node
Next generation cryptocurrency platform built on Node.js

This is simple, easy to remember, doesn't contain "coin" and capitalizes on the popularity of Node.js.

We need to get a properly branded web site ASAP! I'd be willing to help with this as I've worked professionally as a web developer and technical writer since 1999. I recently rebuilt the Devcoin web site for a devcoin bounty: http://devcoin.org

As far as promoting the best features of this platform, besides the speed and scalability of Node.js I strongly suggest we get even a basic marketplace put into this platform and promote the heck out of it. Have you noticed how much "DarkMarket" and now "OpenBazaar" are being mentioned in the crypto news the last few days? People are tired of centralized, web site based exchanges, marketplaces, auctions, etc - it is obvious the future lies in decentralized, peer to peer exchanges where everything is done inside the client thereby eliminating the counter party risk of a web site.

If we can make "Node" the next gen cryptocurrency platform based on Node.js that can be added to by developers (like with NXT) that contains an anonymous marketplace/exchange, I have no doubt it will be a HUGE success!

Got you covered! We are on this idea! The name change is just a detail! We will organize a campaign in the next days! Also i see that there is not a single person that will disagrees, so green light!

NodeCOIn it will be!

About the market place, thanks to node we can embed this functionality into the client! Thanks god for the modularity!

Since it is you idea, how are imagining the branding campaign, or how do you think we should make this public?

Thank you!

Developers have to start with a new name in the beginning. Now if  change the name, many people get confused. Do you think how you can implement the rebranding?

Well i might seem this way but, awareness is very important, not only for the ipo, but also for the popularity of the coin! How do you expect us to get on the market only by distributing coins! The more popularity we have the bigger the interest towards the coin! More interest = Investing!

Yep. Next minute after IPO is over we all will put a NXTL sign and start promoting the coin, PM to coinmarketcap.com, Bter, Dgex owners, help with design and marketing materials and so on. But not earlier )

But the questions is what if you're not just for the quick cash!

Doesn't matter for what each one of us is here. 520000 coins is always better than 170000.

Lets discuss this as a problem:
1) We have 3500 members with 170000 each!
How to make them not to rush on selling them???

I don't know. You can't control people. But let's say there are every 10th member would like to cash out as soon as possible. It's 110 members among 1100 people and 350 members among 3500 people. Simple math.

The only way in which you can prevent people from dumping upon launch is by proposing them a long term value that is greater than the short term gain. NEM does this. I got in for free at page 17 but I already know it is my best move of 2014. The first stake (including forum account) was already auctioned for 0.55 BTC. No beta yet, no alpha yet, just the proposition of being part of NEM is worth 250 USD. So if somebody is already willing to put down that amount of money before the release, and there is this vibrant community of people eager to make a difference: I ain't selling out for loose change. Hell no, I'll be part of the movement and I'll hold until Kingdom come.

I'm impressed, your words are inspiring! There is one questions that resulted from a comparison with Nem, tell me please does NXt Lite present a long term value to you?? If it is, what are the key points that make you trust this project?! Im dying to know your opinion!

I do not think that developers want to distribute a lot of coins, most likely the remaining stake will be sold at auction

Sell over 50% stakes on auction? ) It would be IPO #2 with the same people. C'mon, be realistic. There's Bitcointalk Coin and they give away 50% coins to the forum users. There's less than 700 people (accounts) signed up by now. The whole cryptocurrencies community is less than 2-3K active members. For those of us who spend so much time here it looks like there's thousands of us. But there's not.

This got to a point where it made me laugh seeing the 4th thread in 2 days locked Smiley I was going to post some random transaction details here just for kicks but then I remembered I'm a stakeholder Wink

Anyways, your persistence is applaudable. Hope you manage to reel in some more people before the deadline. All this locking is not helping probably Smiley

Its an actual pain, but we can't blame the mods that they are doing their jobs! Anyway thank you for supporting us!

I have a small favor to ask, would you mind to put the phrase "NXT Coin Lite" at your signature?! it will increase the awareness of the coin!

What do you think??

Allright, there you go, took me 10 minutes lol since I'm a doofus at signatures. I'll wear it until the day of release on one condition: that you people release NXT Lite. Else I'll chase you all the way down to the very gates of hell and you better pray they open the doors for you when that happens.

If you are looking for a 'rebrand'. I must say NODE is as, simple, elegant and pretty as it gets. So take it now before somebody else does. And give the man a bounty.

...
Everyone who screams about "fair distributions" for all and communism on earth just a loser that lost a train. As soon as someone caught a train he wants "unfair distribution".

Well i might seem this way but, awareness is very important, not only for the ipo, but also for the popularity of the coin! How do you expect us to get on the market only by distributing coins! The more popularity we have the bigger the interest towards the coin! More interest = Investing! As we are creating a promising service! The interest towards our project is inevitable increasing! We aim for the long run, and i will not be surprised that we will have more members day by day!

I know what you're saying! But having less users with more coins or more users with less coins gives the same formula! If you're in to make a quick cash, you will sell the coins as soon as the market price for all your coins is => than your investment.

But the questions is what if you're not just for the quick cash!
