CNN has been losing ground in the news world for years now so my guess is this is a desperate attempt to snag viewers out of bitcoinland and not much else. However, if doing so forces them to roll the BTC ticker in the faces of what's left of their audience then so be it. 
rofl. doubt it. 'bitcoinland' ain't that big of an audience to snag.
and if they really wanted bitcoinland, they should make more than a cnn money ticker thing. they could do a whole lot of 'news', articles and stories from bitcoin/crypto.
edit: but if you're in cynical mode, it's more cos i think cnn is accumulating btc.
