This is an interesting concept.  Subscribing.

Why'd you guys choose SPT ?   It is good to see that not all work is dead.

So far, we've picked two coins that had a unique concept, and that we thought brought something to the community.  Spots was one of the first concepts regarding precious metals to cryptocurrency exchange.  WeAreSatoshi is about a positive message; you can change the world if you try.

Innovation doesn't have to be technical.  Thought provoking concepts and different approaches to how things are done are innovative, and should be protected.

QQC was a fair launch with no premine, n-factor algo, with a good community and a lot of potential in the Chinese market cuz of the name. Dev decided to abandon it because they didn't hold enough coins or something

I've looked at Flappycoin and have concerns about copyrights.  Although the source code is obviously open source, the images and name are proprietary.  It appears that the video game developer has given permission to the developers, and a 3rd party intervention may open them up to legal issues...

Sorry, I'm not a lawyer, but I think we'll be steering clear of this one.

However, on a positive note, it appears the site is back up and source code back on github.  Maybe dev is back and was just shifting some stuff around?

We got word back from MrBrew, the current dev, that he supports transitioning management of WeAreSatoshi to our group.  I've reached out to MrData to make sure he is on board with taking over the client.  We'll publish an update soon.

Best news ever. Can't wait for more.

Sunflower coin is a great PoS coin, but the dev just disappeared. None of the bag holders can program and they would be grateful for a new dev. The source is still on github.

Now we are studying the spec and try find dev.

Definitely some potential here...  I love the message, we are all Satoshi!  I'm surprised the Dev would walk away with media attention.  We'll look at it.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Producing an Altcoin is a relatively easy task for those with technical knowledge.  However, keeping the client and supporting environment (block explorers, mining pools, exchanges, etc) up to date and maintained can be an overwhelming task.  There is a subset of coins that once were formed on a great idea, had an active community, and for whatever reason became overwhelming for the developer.  Unfortunately, when this happens, the coin often gets abandoned and left to fizzle out.  We are a group of individuals that have the technical know-how, as well as desire, to "take over" these abandoned coins.

We are just beginning discussions, but our members currently include:

- AmericanComputerNerd - specializing in Web Design, Mining Pools, and Project Management
- MrData - specializing in Coin Programming, Payment Systems, and Block Explorers
- Matory - specializing in Exchange / Trading, Market Conditions, and PR

How Coins Get Picked For Revival:

Either through our personal experiences within the forums, or through a suggestion in this thread, we learn of coins that have been abandoned or are in need of assistance.  Our team will closely analyze the scenario, community, and source code and come to a decision on how to proceed.

Once we decide to "revive" a coin, we will reach out to the existing developer and let them know what our intentions are.  Depending on the interaction with the existing developer, we may walk away at this point.  If this is the case, we will let the community know what has happened.

Once we are in a position to move forward, we will complete the following tasks:
  • Publish a new ANN thread
  • Publish a website, block explorer, and mining pool
  • Clean up and re-publish coin source code and binaries
  • Develop a strategic PR specific to the coin
