I see, so the sign message was removed just few months ago. Well then thanks for the answers.

I will now locked this thread and hope it will served as reference to others who will have the same concern. Smiley

Coinbase removed option to sign a message few months ago. I remember that previously before removing, signing a message function didn't worked. But instead of fixing it, Coinbase removed it at all after one of updates.
P.S. I won't say "Don't use Coinbase" and etc. But it wasn't best to sign a message from web wallet where you dob't have full control of it. Anyway, you were only beginner in these days, so I can understand you Wink

Coinbase removed this feature long time ago back in 2016 at least. So yeah you can sign a message there
I could have appreciated if they informed the customers but it doesn't look their cup of tea to inform people about changes.
As alternative, you can check Bitwala that let you getting access to your private keys, when you create your wallet.

I can't confirm if this still works - or if this option is even available - since I don't have a Coinbase account. But it's worth a try:

Found this thread from Google. Thought I would help. I was motivated to get this feature working for the Byteball link with bitcoin for their giveaway. After some "hacking" of Coinbase's sign message feature I finally got it to work. It is pretty simple:

- Use chrome (other's would work, but instructions for chrome)
- Go to where you are asked to enter your message to sign.
- right click on the "Sign Message" button and click on inspect.
- look for the "- on that tag you will see an attribute called "action" with a value of "/addresses/xxxxxxxxxxxx" (whatever the number is for you).
- simply double click that address to edit it and add "/sign" after the number to complete the action address.
- that's it. The form will work.

Stupid bug for a site like coinbase imho.

Enjoy!

Hi. Yes Im aware of that method.

That is only possible when there is a link for Sign Message but unfortunately there is none as in no link.

Coinbase was the only webwallet (as I remember), that didn't provide private key but gave the possibility for signing meessages. It seems, that they disabled this feature.
There are already many threads about this case, for example this one:

No that is not related to my concern. It's different.

See the quoted above? That's the solution to the link you posted.

Anyways yeah Coinbase might be removed that feature now.

Thanks for the response guys.

Yes, I checked and still remember that option but it's missing from there. Write a mail to coinbase support to sign an address manually from your account. I don't think they mind if you tell about your big problem and urgency if there is any.

Back in my beginner days (2015), I staked an address here on which the address came from Coinbase exchange.

After many months I checked my account there. Now I want to signed a message on that address staed above but unfortunately I can't see a sign message feature now on Coinbase. Since when does this implemented? Or is it just a browser problem on my side or any related thing to that?

Thank you.

P.S Please don't respond "Don't use Coinbase etc. etc" , "Don't used web wallet", "I don't trust web wallet" etc. etc.

That isn't my point here. Thanks.
