You may want to read the article.  It explains that this is basically an investment in coinbase operations and expansion, which is good for bitcoin, but not the same as someone buying 75 million USD worth of coins.

I did read the article, but I still don't understand. 75 millions is a very large sum, how can they spend so much in coinbase operations and expansion? are they planning to advertise on TV?

You guys are seriously going to trust a brand new account posting something like this? The price is on the increase but it's very steady at the moment, nothing dramatic is going to happen yet, I'm expecting it to return to $300 - £350 and stay there if nothing goes horribly wrong.

That is my hope too. Stable price is what we want.

Coinbase has raised $75m as part of a Series C funding round backed by a host of impressive first-time bitcoin investors including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Fortune 500 financial services group USAA, Spanish megabank BBVA and Japanese telcom giant DoCoMo.

I was doubtful about this 75mil into bitcoin. After reading the article, I was fairly excited about this. The 75mil is not going into an exchange to buy coins, but invest into Coinbase. The good news is the prominence of the investors!

NYSE investing in Coinbase? This has to count for something.

Well if 75Mill got put into BTC then the price would of sky rocketed back up and made some serious movement but so far theirs been very little movement in the market so I doubt they are buying up and making price go up. More like their just setting funds aside for future projects and have some form of reserves for customers to cashout and to maybe buy some coins. Who knows but I do not see market sky rocketing up.

I wonder if the lunar announcement thing is related to this. Do they want to pump it now with the hype?

Coinbase is just putting together what seems to be a chump change (in comparison) to a market that is very attractive right now (maximum financial opportunity point or close to it). If you consider the idea that in 4-5 years time the crypto currency as a whole will gain greater exposure and acceptance, worrying over 1200 to 120 price drop (or even further) is same as worrying about drop from 32 to 1 dollar in the past.

Think long term, folks. Though, you will probably not succeed too much if you bought at 1200 and expect this to go up x10 in a year.

We're still waiting for the interesting news: what are they going to do with those funds?
OP didn't even bother to copy paste the link to the original news and expects people to buy like crazy because capslocks.
This means nothing to me, will probably have a small peak on the price due hype but who knows.
