Whatever the connection is it came from BTCJam's email DB not Coinbase's; the email I got it at was only used there.
It must be multiple sources, as i have never registered with that mail at Coinbase nor "Bitcointalk, Localbitcoins and Kraken" as suggested in the other thread.
And i dont even know what BTCJam is.

And I used to trust coinbase's security.
Now the question is will coinbase honor the btc from the victims that will fall for this.......I think not.

If Coinbase did get hacked, they should address on their blog or send a mass email warning all their userbase immediately.

That said, if you've been using Coinbase, you most likely have 2 Factor Authentication involved for any transactions, so any fool that falls for this, kinda deserves it.

2FA man, 2FA!  No one blindly sends money to an address or QR code without 2FA!!!

It is not their database that was hacked.
I use this mail for sensitive things only, but i never registered at Coinbase.

Yeah, I got the same email today and it was to an email address that I ONLY use for financial stuff, so the scammers are not sending this mails out randomly, they have hacked Coinbase's mailing list!
