Good news to people who are yawning to see exchange with real volumes and bad news to exchange who are involved in wash trading and exaggerated trading volumes to be at the top level rank in cmc, this idea is nothing but brilliant, with this method of knowing the accuracy of tradings in exchanges now we can actually know which exchange deserves to be in those top spot and who doesn't, good job coingecko for this.

Hello everyone! CoinGecko is introducing "Trust Score" to combat fake exchange volume. From today onwards, we won't be sorting exchanges by reported volume but will take into account web traffic and orderbook data. 
The fake volume is a curse and we need to get rid of that to have some transparency and a fair evaluation of things for the people who invest money. Most or all of these exchanges are not regulated and there is a plenty of competition in the exchange market and all the exchanges are trying to get an upper edge to attract more customers and with no regulatory board overlooking all these, they could fake these volumes but coingecko has taken a good initiative and hopefully they will not take money and fake the volume themselves as i am sure these exchanges will be ready to pay huge amounts to show these fake volumes too

Well, that's very good news. I like Coingecko and I use This service very often. Often can find altcoins that are not on Coinmarketcap and find out where they are traded. And now and watch real volumes.
Yes, coingecko has more features than Coinmarketcap. Coingecko is not just a price showing tool, they list all the potential ICO on the board. This new Trust Score feature will bring more users to Coingecko and I hope very soon this platform will become another big crypto influencer website! This is awesome and it was needed badly to prevent fakers. I always like Coingecko than the manipulated Coinmarketcap! This trust score will help us to know which exchange is really big and which is shit. We all know most of the exchange has fake volume, even many big reputed exchanges have a huge number of the fake volume. We should stop supporting this exchange when we already have a better option. I did not know about this feature before today, thanks to coingecko to bring a good solution in the crypto market.

I think this is very good news for everyone, because the news provided with CoinGecko is very petrified to eradicate fake volumes in trading, and I also always see in exchange a lot of high volumes but they don't correspond to reality for trading. So for that all traders are not only fooled by the volume that looks high.

Which kind altcoin giving information by CoinGecko incorrect sir? I always check website exchange market trues based on what information giving by CoinGecko website, maybe little miss information is not worried because we can check by self in market and we use CoinGecko for checking faster without have open exchange market.

Hats off! https://www.coingecko.com that's really doing great job. It was big fight to find out fake exchanges volume. Because https://coinmarketcap.com/ always showing huge fake volume. Binance trust score position number 8 really. I'm very shocked to see this exchange ranking. Kraken is got top trust scoring exchange i think it’s really deserve that. Coingecko day by day go very popular i think it’s a another great place to know about cryptocurrency.

Shouldn't this be in service discussion or service announcements, since it's not really related to BTC, but more so a service you are offering to the community?
That aside, great job with the site. The trust ratings are really going to help people see the real faked volumes and I'm glad your company is taking extra steps to make sure that exchanges won't be able to get away with things like market making, fake volume, etc.

But this relates directly to the BTC, since the measured volume will be BTC on an exchange, so they are closely linked.

Absolutely excellent service. All apparently major exchanges show very high volumes with wash trading. This can confuse the beginner investors. Coingecko became much more useful than coinmarketcap. Congratulations.

This is a very good precaution for faking volumes. Thanks to "Trust Score" feature, people are going to know the true values of exchange volumes. I will continue to use your website as long as you care about investors and people who are interested in cryptos.

This is a great news to all investors. Most exchanges these days fake their daily volumes just to attract project managers to list their tokens and coins over there. I really don't want to point fingers at any exchanges but at least if you've been in this industry for quite sometime you should know them by now

CoinGecko, Coinmarketcap and many other third-party data service providers are available within the industry offering free as well as premium services.
Basically everyone is using API data provided by exchanger and blockchain of coins.
Adding more parameter can give more transparency, trust, and a friendly environment to the trader to judge market condition, and information to users about the current status of specific coin listed on exchanges to analyze.

For sure! Their exchange page really looks good now. It's a much better representation and you see bad exchanges ranked all the way down despite having huge "trading volumes".
Than Trust Score from CoinGecko differs from the same in CMC ?
Very different, just look at their exchange page. CMC has MXC? BKEX? (What nonsense exchanges are these) on top while CoinGecko has Binance, Coinbase (those that you expect to be on top).
Furthermore, if you look into their coin page (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin) you'll see that the top trading pairs are at least legit (i.e from Coinbase, kraken, binance). CMC one on the other hand... very inaccurate and misleading.
I no longer use CMC now, CoinGecko is more trustworthy with transparent info and better ranking.
This is a better step. We have been expecting Coinmarketcap to do something about fakes volumes and fake exchanges, but till now, not even warning about frequently reported fake exchanges or the plan to delist them. The problem I have is that I defaultly search at CMC.
CMC doesn't seem to want to do anything against fake volume exchanges. Their exchange page, coin trading pairs list is ridiculous.
