I am pulling from BTER...
I agree, but approaching these issues diplomatically would be much more effective. I'm sure Gliss is a busy person and gets piles of requests daily.
Perhaps a way to combine stats from all exchanges will be better. Nxt is now also on vircurex and likely to be on crypsty soon as well, so this will be important. How is the volume determined for Bitcoin? It looks like it is aggregated from the three largest exchanges at least. A fair representation of Nxt would require similar aggregation, since many people use volume as a major factor in their decisions.
I've been meaning to do a major volume overhaul, but haven't the time. Yes, ideally it would aggregate from all exchanges with significant volume. I really want to get that done soon.
In case it's not painfully obvious for you Gliss, you get all these request from people that have self-interest in mind with each one of these coin request. Every time that a new coin is added to your site people rush to buy it, it temporarily drives the price up and they profit. They would not care at all about coinmarketcap if it were not for this effect.
It is in your best interest to keep this going, but as your site is right now that effect is starting to fade. With the clusterfuck of coins being added it's actually hard for the average person to tell if a coin has recently been added or not. It would be useful to add a sort of new coin alert near the top of the site that makes it very clear when new coins are added.
Additional things that you can do include slowing down the rate at which you add coins, and ignoring request for idiotic coins like premine coin, giving those coins any light at all reflects negatively on the crypto-currency community as a whole.
Personally, I love the site. Who doesn't like doubling their money? That's been great but that isn't really happening anymore. You should consider removing a large majority of the coins that serve no purpose. It's easy to identify which coins actually have any potential and which coins are simply clones.
I also have to mention NobleCoin and Klondike coin, you said that you were going to add them and it's been a fair wait now. Obviously I have these coins and that's the main reason I want them added, but the coins themselves aren't clones, and actually serve a purpose. Take a look at them and consider adding them soon, thanks.
If it was my site I would require a certain marketcap threshold to be crossed before I listed it (maybe calculated proportional to BTC in some way). The bottom 60 can be chopped off the list, or put on a secondary list with a "under $XX marketcap" linked on the front page. Have some standards. The list is at 81 and growing. It looks like a bad joke. I can copy paste bitcoin, make some puppet accounts and spam this thread to get my coin listed. It's pretty silly, but what can you do. It's his site.
That's an easy solve, just have a page 2
The question is do we want to have a top 50 or a top 100?
I mentioned in an earlier post why I haven't added NobleCoin or KlondikeCoin. It's because the exchanges they are on either have no volume or are less than 30 days old.
Guys, a reminder to fill out the request form linked from the OP if you want a coin to be added. I can't add the coins if I don't have the required info.
