Alright due to a large number of requests, I've removed Ripple from the main page.  You can still see long term charts for it at http://coinmarketcap.com/xrp_30.html

If you want a certain coin added, please give a link to a working block explorer.  A block crawler such as http://www.grandcoin.org/blocks/ is not sufficient since it only gives block count information (AFAIK), and block reward usually changes over time.

Thanks for all the feedback!  Still working on more improvements.
Thank you for removing Ripple.
Now please relist CAP (Bottlecaps).

I support removing Ripple from the list. Firstly, although there are technically 100,000,000,000 XRP, the reality is that only a fraction of those are accessible (the vast majority are held by Opencoin), Ripple is definitely nowhere near 1/2 or 1/3 as valuable as Bitcoin, it seems likely that the value of the XRP held by people other than Opencoin would put Ripple below several of the other cryptocurrencies (I know this comparison isn't very accurate, but for example, the Namecoin subreddit has 964 subscribers, whereas the Ripplers subreddit only has 753).

Secondly, unlike the others on the list, Ripple isn't a cryptocurrency; although it is digital like the others, that's where the similarities end. Ripple lacks several of the features of cryptocurrencies, as it doesn't seem to use cryptography in currency production or transactions, and it is also currently centralized.

If you do keep Ripple on the list, at least change the total supply number to the number of XRP that have actually been released by Opencoin.

Just do something about XRP. Send it to the end of the list where it belongs. XRP is totally different and therefore should be handled differently.

Get it away from this list at least. It's not fair towards the other coins.

Also, MemoryCoin is now trading stable on bter at about 0.0006 BTC...
So with 140,000 coins it has a Market Cap of about $10,000...

Good for 38th place, baby... MEG is here to stay.

Added GameCoin and QuarkCoin.

I require a working block explorer with quantity info for the following coins:
- AmericanCoin
- Bitgem
- Krugercoin
- Lebowskis
- Florincoin
- Grandcoin

 ..here are two :

http://altcha.in/chain/Krugercoin

http://lbw.webboise.com:2796/chain/Lebowskis

Thanks! I've re-added these two.

Also, added Gil and updated the Bitcoin price source to use bitcoinaverage.com.

I think like the others before said, XRP should be removed.
I don't think that a 100% Premining is innovative, Fiat money had done this for centuries.

It is not good to give XRP such an attention by listing them in second place.

Here's the problem with XRP:

Only about 3 billion have been released...
A Market Cap is usually based on the Public Float not "Treasury Shares"...
So XRP would have a Market Cap of about $18 million which makes sense.

If the other 97 billion were released XRP price would collapse to near zero...
Ripple is on Life Support, baby... there rest may NEVER be released.

My last post may have been somewhat in jest, but adding a section of Fiat and Corporate-owned currencies might not be such a bad idea !

Not that I wanting to give the dev. work, but it might bring the site to the attention of a wider audience: People who follow these currencies may have a limited knowledge (or none) of cryptos. Comparisons for illustration of concept etc.. !

Food for thought, anyway.

On the topic of removing ripple I will consider it.  But even if you don't believe in Ripple, don't you guys think it's still useful market information to have?  I just don't think being #2 on the list and that we happen to disagree with its fundamentals is a good enough reason to take it down.

Maybe list Linden Dollars, WoWGold, FarmCoins, etc with XRP part of this separate group. ..or maybe in with GBP, USD, EUR,JPY etc.

Fine to give the info, but doesn't a comparison site need to compare like with like ?
