wallets are not on servers, the attack could never affect anyone's balance. I have worked with an exchange market before and I know what I'm talking about.

They are also being DDOS so that people can lose money by not trading, withdrawing or moving their coins in time accordingly... so people can get pissed and go elsewhere. This is collective DDOS of other markets. I'm staying with coinsmarkets and won't be manipulated even if it costed me money. Well, as long as they fricking fix this for good real soon too.

It would be nice if they could give an ETA of when the upgrade will be completed

Today their server was up, I could trade a few coins but after 10 min or so.. it went offline again. Thought they fixed their issues in the night. Hope they are back online anytime soon, or I have to sell in loss.

I believe that site will be back, but its approximately a day that they have been upgrading servers. I dont know whats happening in the background but 24 hours is too much for an upgrade.

Coinsmarket's user activity more than quadrupled in the last 7-10 days..

Is it any wonder they needed an urgent server upgrade ?

I'd rather they take the time and get it right, than go through the site outages again in a couple of weeks.

Patience guys  Cool Cool

I am still a youngster in the crypto world, but I have already seen it is becoming a very competitive market and from my humble opinion I think the ddos attack was from some competitors that fear the volume that coinsmarket is generating. I Like them and will keep my coins there.

Guys stop spreading FUD, coinsmarkets hasn't been hacked and it's not a SCAM exchange. Keep the faith and stay strong mentally. I have 0.051 BTC and over 25M EMB in there and when I successfully logged in the first thing I did was check my BTC and my investments and they were all fine! So to everyone losing their sh*t, chill out and stay strong mentally.

I think Coinsmarkets.com has been hacked. I could be wrong but look at this.

They spelt their own name wrong? Could it be a hack? or just new servers?

FIND OUT ON THE NEXT EPISODE OF CRYPTO REALITY.

I accessed their site earlier as a few hours ago it goes on and off but now I can't seem to enter at the live version, only the snapshot one appears which cloudflare provides.
And yes when I accessed it earlier there's a message stating that they are migrating to a new server which explains this situation.

Yesterday the trades on ECA were of 550 BTC in volume. This overloaded their small servers, hence the reason for the server upgrade I would imagine.

Really?  Shocked.

So coinsmarkets servers surprised with that kind of unexpected volume. They really need an upgrade.

I'm guessing that the site has a tight budget which should explain the following: Small server, almost no promotion, poor user interface etc.
And it was just registered on the first months of 2017 so it's pretty new.

SCAM alert. Terrible terrible situation. But what you can expect from exchange with 2013likish btc-e site design
I think all traders and holders can say goodbye to their coins and tokens.

I think you should wait a few days and see what happens before you accuse someone of being a scammer.

Until no announcements or the site is down in just a short period of time then just consider it as a "minor issue" for the moment. And they have why there is an error. The site is working now but Im getting a slow response (but maybe it was just affected because Im currently downloading a movie).

I hope it's just maintenance of their server or maybe upgrading their server just like they told to us. All my staking coins are there. I hope it will save there and coinsmarket will online again. I still believe on coinsmarket atm.

Could be a hack or just server got overloaded like they said. They were probably in such a hurry to put that page together they didn't check spelling. Not ideal but I am going to trust that all my coins are safe there still, not that I have that many on this exchange..

I'm pretty sure they're just updating their server. Kind of needs to be done when you grow as much as they have. They've been having issues staying up over the last week or so. Needed the hardware upgrade. Hopefully it will keep it from crashing all the time like it was.
