Does MEW support USDT also? Myetherwallet is open for any ERC-20 right? anyone have tried this?
P.S this is the only time i knew that USDT is an ERC-20 token. FOR REAL!

Yes according to MEW support they support USDT ERC20 just make sure to add this as another custom token.

Read this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MyEtherWallet/comments/c8wv07/how_to_store_erc20_version_of_tether_usdt_on_mew/

USDT ERC20 token is different from real USDT which is coin don't compare them they are different if you send the USDT coin to MEW it won't work except for USDT ERC20 token.

Ledger is the best choice. They have a fair price and usability is on a great level. Besides they have a user friendly interface and as far as I know Ledger is the safest cold wallet, without any detected issues.
Problem with ledger wallet is they are not cold wallet, because they dont give you your private key, and ledger developer have access to your private key which is not safe.
Im looking for a cold wallet with private key.

How often do you have to repeat your wrong info?

Ledger wallet is a cold wallet, and not only because it gives you your private keys but because it is basically an offline wallet. It is a hardware wallet whose private keys and pins and seeds are yours and yours alone. The ledger developers or whoever it is who is connected to the company do not have access to them as you constantly claim.

And why single out Ledger as out of your choice? Why, do you have a specific cold wallet you want to promote?

Try a wallet trezor.

It just supports the necessary token and allows them to control through the beta version of their account or through MyEtherWallet. https://trezor.io/coins/

Ledger already supports Ethereum and all ERC-20 tokens. Visit the Ledger support below.

Manage ERC20 tokens
You can manage ERC20 tokens in Ledger Live using the Ethereum app on your Ledger device. Up to 1,250 ERC-20 tokens are supported. Please refer to our list of supported crypto assets to see which ones.

Just visit https://www.myetherwallet.com/ and they will let you create every kind of wallet you like. It's not only ledger or trezor, there are many ways of creating a wallet over there.
Yes this would be the best option since it looks like OP doesn't really trust the hardware wallets like ledger or trezor.
In MEW you could create tons of wallet and it is up to you on how would you protect it .
I would also suggest paper wallet but I haven't used or tried it before so I don't really know if their safe or what but I like it's idea and it seem's to be so easy to use just don't forget to keep your private key safe.

Hello! In my personal opinion, the most comfortable and reliable is a cold wallet called Ledger.

Hardware wallets does give you your private key, I'm using coolwallet and it will give you your seed phrase for the initial set up but will no longer show it afterwards, so you will need to secure and type it somewhere. All these hardware wallets are also supporting majority of the coins in the market and as someone who always go for bounties and new style of airdrops which guarantees rewards than the usual ones, I really prefer hardware wallets so that it will have all types of coins (ERC20, BTC, etc.) all together.

I love trezor and ledger too and I believe that they're providing their key phrase as well, and you should not worry about them getting your private keys, devs don't do that.

You should consider hardware wallet like trezor, it fully supports tether stable coin and you will have access to your fund with the recovery seed youve been given, if you want private key then you have to use iancoleman to derive your private key out, though it won't be easy for newbies but its not impossible

You do have your private key. You can derive it from your seeds any time you want. And no, ledger developers do not have access to your private keys. I'm not sure where you got that notion from.

If you don't trust Ledger's closed source firmware then you could potentially just do a DIY paper wallet yourself. Generate the private key offline, write down the ETH private key somewhere safe, and store it completely offline.

Or, do a clean install of the OS and the official ETH wallet software on a separate PC that is never connected to the internet. But tbh, a hardware wallet would still be the most convenient way.

Ledger wallet. just try if its working but im not sure
I will also suggest Ledger wallet, as indicated on their website for supported coins it's the USDT ERC20 token.
https://shop.ledger.com/pages/supported-crypto-assets
https://www.ledger.com/tether-wallet/
Just choose the variant from Ledger Nano S or X. Ledger wallet is one of the safest hardware wallet ever.
Guys ledger nano s or x is NOT A COLD WALLET, because they dont give you private key, that mean they can have access to your wallet any time they want, Im looking for cold wallet with private key.
