One of the best ways to improve your understanding of a language, especially English, and to better your life at the same time, is to read the Bible in your language.

Why the Bible? Bible translators are some of the most meticulous people around. They are so because the Bible teaches to not change the wording and the meaning of the Bible. It's bad enough that the wording has to be changed to be adapted to a new language, but making this change without keeping the meaning would really be bad.

Simply reading the Bible over and over in the language you are learning, will give you a wonderful and varied idea of what the language is all about.

Cool

Thanks for sharing those. I think along with books, we should also watch Hollywood movies for anyone who wants to learn a new language, trying to speak it even if it's grammatically wrong is vital. Movies in that language also helps a lot, happened with me Tongue now I'm fluent.

In order to master English, we need to become interested in ourselves. I think that in order to become proficient in English, more and more English word serpents will have to gain knowledge, and more and more books should be read. Understand the meaning of English words and use English grammar. Everyone will be okay to try. Serve to be proficient in English.

It is good collections that you are sharing us, Actually English is international language and everyone want to improve his English because English is not our mother-tongue. When i was kid, i saw most of people are weak in speaking English, the reason only few schools are English-medium, and lack of knowledge and information about English language. But now time has been changed everyone can get quickly information about any language and get classes and do sources.

Speaking is a good way to learn English, especially praticing to speak English will help English learners have more confidence on their English ability. It is good for our lives, for English learners ' lives outside the forum. Inside the forum, the most two important skills that users should manage are reading and writing. The forum is not a live-stream-based platform, so you can not speak directly with other users in the forum. Consequently, writing is only tool to express your ideas, and discuss with others. To appropriately join discussions, you have to read and understand what others wrote correctly.

it has been useful for me to go to YouTube and look for some videos, where they teach you the most common phrases that are used in English, and it helps a lot
I have no doubt about the helpfulness of Youtube's video in terms of help English learners to improve their Listening and Speaking skills. You should use the channel for your dedication and efforts to improve L & S skills for sure, for learning as well as entertainments when your have spare time.
It's one of good way to maintain healthy and fast-responsive brains.  Wink

However, it won't help a lot for Reading and Writing skills, and the point I wanted to give you is:
The forum is the place mainly for Reading and Writing, so you should focus at them first for your time spent in the forum.

Thank you very much for all the contribution, I have always wanted to learn more English, but it has been useful for me to go to YouTube and look for some videos, where they teach you the most common phrases that are used in English, and it helps a lot, because when you see movies or listening to songs are easily recognizable, and I think you learn a lot in a short time, based on the fact that all the time you have to practice in some way if you can not go to live or be in an English speaking country.

Around more than one month since my last post in the topic, today I would like to get your experience with those books in the collection.
Are those books usefull for you?
Do you have others to suggest as supplementary books for the collection?

Which types of books do you prefer?
Books on vocabularies or grammar?

Smart choices!
My bad, forget to add the book's name, I was using the phone and got mixed up. someone recommended those books to me and i found here.

1. Right Word Wrong Word ( L.G. Alexander)
2. Idioms and Phrasal Verbs (Ruth Gairns and Stuart Redman)

Personally, I like the following two books.
VI) Right Word, Wrong Word (Longman)

Click to download

VIII) English for Biomedical Scientists (Ramon Ribes, Palma Iannarelli, Rafael F. Duarte).
Using the books, then applying tutorials, lessons inside will help readers to have better capacity to communicate effectively in English. The most interesting thing of the book is its focus on different types of readers. Enjoy it, everyone!

Click to download.

BADecker Yes, you are right it speeds up the learning process but in this digital world we don't necessarily have to visit any place for learning the language. but I got your point.

And I don't struggle much when speaking in English except writing.
