I've seen how bad people and family gets affected by drinking alcohol. There are people who know their limits and does things in a responsible manner. This have made me think much and I never had the intention to drink. One thing my mind always think, I could've practiced to drink, if so my loss could've got limited. I've lost much in gambling, maybe if I have got the drinking habit, maybe I might've spent much time into drinking than wagering.
Yes people who are addicted to alcohol don't have a responsible manners mostly when they are drunk, they can take any how and also do anyhow, moreover excessive dinking of ALCOHOL is not good, drinking of alcohol should be once in awhile and yes it is also good to know you limits of drinking.

Anyway if you know you can't sway even a tip of an alcoholic beverages is better not to even try it at all. ( Wink ), One thing you don't know is that practicing how to drink alcohol might make you like it or make you turn alcoholic addict (and you know what that means).

Well if you are thinking the other way round like imagining if you were an alcoholic beverages addict you could have saved up some of the money you used in gambling, mate the two opposite are the same because an addicted person is an addicted person wether on the better side or the worse side, nevertheless alcoholic addict is worster than a gambler because once you are drunk you misbehave.
Bitcoin, much like alcohol, is all about understanding and moderation. Dive deep into the blockchain and you'll realize the importance of limits. You mentioned knowing your alcohol limits, but the same applies to Bitcoin investment. Just as one might overindulge in alcohol and regret it, diving into Bitcoin without proper knowledge could be just as harmful.

Balance is the key. Sometimes a beer can solve a problem; similarly, a well-timed Bitcoin investment can resolve financial concerns. But excess in either can lead to disaster. You wouldnt drink without knowing your tolerance, so why invest in Bitcoin without understanding the market?

You're surprised, right?

I found out during the time members were been voted for some forum award[1], before then I have always viewed the operator of the account as a male.

If you stay observant you'll notice that some prominent members are also female and not male as .ost of us thought they were.

It's the internet and everyone feels everybody on it is actually a male, well at least that's what I felt too, then after surfing through the forum all this times, then I now discovered that they are alot of misconception about the male and female gender among forum users. And also this particular contest made it clear for about the true gender of this particular user @BitcoinGirl.Club which almost everyone voted for the award meant for the female gender not knowing she was actually a male.

Well for the bottle of drink I would have skip, for me I think none because I am not a drink kinda guy as I know my head can't carry even a little amount of wine containing little percentage of alcohol.

I never like alcohol, because I have seen many people become ill after drinking alcohol, so I always try to stay away from alcohol. But even if I stay away from alcohol, I drink some soft drinks and juices regularly. Coca Cola Fanta Mountain Dew Sprite These are my favorite orange drinks. In addition to this soft water, I also drink some electrolyte drinks every day, which gives me some energy on my daily walk. Soft drinks and electrolyte drinks cost me about two dollars a day. If I spend two dollars every day, at the end of the month, I can see that my soft drinks cost about 60 dollars, that is, if I calculate such expenses annually, then in a year, I can see that my energy drinks and soft drinks cost me 720 dollars. If I quit drinking soft drinks I would save $770 at the end of the year but these habits would take the joy out of my life so I don't want to give up these habits. I want to earn a little extra money differently and then invest that extra money in Bitcoin.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
As I mentioned in my other topic
Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country

I simply got tired of standard figures and numbers, maybe it's funnier and more interesting to see the price in other forms, stuff like the bigmac index although I personally hate PPP as much as one can hate stats. Adding the fact that there is no way in hell I could find reliable up-to-date info for every country and its living standard and current prices, I got a funny idea inspired by LoyceV topic and combining it with one of those spammy low-quality therapy session topics in which newbies tell us for a few merits what chatgpt told them on how to live a fulfilling life, here it is>

So, to drink (alcohol, or cola or tea or whatever  Roll Eyes ) or to buy Bitcoin???

Lifehack: Invest in Bitcoin and brew your own beer. Sell Beer, Buy more BTC. Rinse and repeat.

Beer is infinitely worth less in value because it is a perishable consumable which is not meant to be a long term investment in the first place. So we are comparing apples with oranges here.

I have a feeling that 90% of newbies are just automated AI bots, seeking to build high-level accounts with no effort and then to make money with advertising campaign. That is how I explain the generic chatgpt posts.

I don't drink very much these days, not alcohol anyhow.  To me it just makes me tired and I lost bodily functions which unless I'm out partying, I don't like that feeling.  I prefer to smoke weed over drinking any day of the week.  It doesn't make me tired or hungry like it does to some (plus I manage it with CBD tinctures).

But, I have a certain amount of my paycheck that is dedicated to both weed and btc purchases per month.  Keep it as simple as that.  I don't go outside that much.

You should do your lungs a favor and switch to dry-herb vaping with a filter and/or a bubbler add-on. Not only do you get the full taste, it is also nowhere near as harsh on your lungs and throat.

Give all before death

My best drink is a bottle of Smirnoff Ice. It is my favorite because of its low alcohol content and unique taste. I checked online and I saw that our local bottle design and the price is different in diverse countries. In my country one bottle costs about 0.65 United States Dollars. I will have to spare about 46,154 bottles to buy 1bitcoin at 30,000 USD. Cutting my consumption of my drink to buy bitcoin is not a bad idea but the time it will take to save the money is my major concern. I will rather look for a side job that can give me an extra income to buy Bitcoin. Nevertheless thanks for the idea OP.

Is that what you drink? Cheesy
The way I understand the thread it should be something you consume, but could stop buying and spend the money on bitcoin instead. Something you can do without.

I'm supposed to do both, but currently, I'm jobless and all I can afford is to buy beer. At least one beer a day comes from my own pocket; the rest is when my friends visit me, and that's when I would be able to drink for free.

Personally, it's easier for me to earn coins than buying them because, as far as I can remember, during the time when I was still earning crypto, it was easy for me to save some. However, when rainy days come and there's nothing you can spend, you have to break the rules and withdraw the funds you are holding. It's a matter of surviving in these challenging times, and having some beer gives me a bit of ease.

By the way, beers that I buy only cost me less than $2, so it's less than $2 a day and it's impossible to conver that into crypto coin.

How about Molecular grade water from our laboratory?
Molecular grade water is usually used in carrying out washing of the ELISA plates and electrophoresis docks. There are also other purposes for it and mostly involved where cross contamination can not be tolerated during the experiment.

The cost of 500 mL MB Grade water is around ₹ 4,000 that’s after conversion comes to around $50.00
Considering this cost I would need to leave around 585 bottles at the bottle counter. That’s a costly scientific affair in terms of ultra pure water.

Good motivation for my husband. I have not drunk carbonated drinks, let alone alcoholic ones, since the birth of my children, but I will motivate my husband to finally stop smoking. A pack of cigarettes, which can last him a little more than a day, costs about 3–4 dollars. To save his health and thereby get Bitcoin, he must deprive himself of about 10,000 packs. Frankly, I doubt that I can persuade him to make such a sacrifice. Grin

Are you a woman  Roll Eyes? ha 🤔

Ok, well, it depends on how long he has been smoking; if it's not so long, then it might not be very difficult to convince him, but if it's been a long time, then It will be very difficult but not impossible. My grandpa was a smoker; according to him, he started smoking at age 20+, and now he is 80+. There was one time he was very sick and hospitalised for some days, and the doctor asked him to stop smoking and taking alcohol. I know it was very difficult for him to stop smoking; in fact, he was even hiding to smoke sometimes, but on many occasions, I caught him. So, what I am saying is that it will be very difficult for your husband to stop smoking and save up the money he was supposed to use to smoke 10,000 packs, but I have another idea for you.

Since he spends $3–4 on one pack, you can advise him to save up another $4 every time he buys a pack of cigarettes. I mean, if he is buying one pack of cigarettes, he Should also take out $4 and keep it in a safe under your custody. Keep saving that $4 until you have all the money saved up for, like, 10,000 packs of cigarettes, then you can buy him a Bitcoin. But who knows if 1 BTC will still be in the range of $30k by then?

I had some strategy for you, mostly you use 30-50$ for a week into drinking alcohol.Suppose you make use of that 30$ per week into the bitcoin trading every week. You will have 120-200$ worth of bitcoin in a month. If you continue the process for one year of time, the maximum money you will have is 800$.This savings you get from the quitting of drinking. The health problem also saved in this period of time,So this 800$ can be used for any emergency time.It can be followed by 2-3 years, then you can start a business with that 2400$.

You own the pen
The rules are always straightforward when you want to spend on something, you need to consider first to ponder upon whether it is an asset or a liability. Most of the time we don't think of such kinds of possibilities rather we always rush to buy them as soon as we can afford it. But that's not the case when buying bitcoins because it is pure assets and earnings it will gonna multiply your capital if you did the right way to buy low and you know how to protect your bitcoins for the long term. When you turn away from those bad habits and instead spend everything on bitcoins instead, that's clearly an asset that will also become your treasure in the long run.

Water is water no matter where it's gotten from you just have to make it look unique, treat it like you treat something special with so much care, and one would think you got it at 50 eurs like you said for the wine.

I would never agree with that, because not all water is clean and healthy for drinking, and if someone thinks they are drinking healthy water from a plastic bottle, let them do a little research on what that plastic releases into the water and what you are actually drinking. Researches say that even about 70% of bottled water comes from taps anyway, which is another piece of data that shows that most people live in a delusion about what they buy.

Having a special wine would really cost a lot, with you being a connoisseur, it means you have to go for the real deal and you spend more to get that unique wine. I know you can do anything to get a better wine even if you spend up to 100 EUR😅.

For some, 50 EUR is a lot, for some it is not, it all depends on where you live and how much you earn, and of course on how much wine you drink. In addition, good wines are not only good as drinks, but can also be a good investment because their price increases over time.

Till this day, many people in my life still find it surprising that I don't drink, I am not so into drinking, I don't even know how to drink anything alcoholic, maybe because my father isn't an alcohol fan either? I have few friends that have shamed me in the past because I don't want them to turn me into a drinker, we end up splitting up and I find myself good friend that don't drink, we reason the same way and I like it.

To protect your liver and kidney you need to stay away from drinking, but all in the name of no one lives forever some people prefer to drink themselves into oblivion, drinking is now an escape from the reality or a way to lessen their pain or disappointment, I am glad I am not like this.

It's really not a must to invest in Bitcoin, for everything we acquired in life is vanity upon vanity but I enjoy challenges and it's one of the reason to keep striving, it would be a boring life if I am not facing any challenges you know.

If you have to drink something, drink what will be of benefit to your health and body, alcohol isn't one of them.

alcohol just becomes a headache to manage and a toilet flush 6 hours later.. its a waste

the whole idea of using disposible income to invest, is to use the income that would just go to waste andnot stick around. much better to invest..

You know a saying "if you enjoyed time wasted, then it wasn't wasted". Something similar goes for "wasted" spendings. Life is temporary, if you deny yourself everything, then you aren't really living. What's the point of saving money your whole life to own some BTC when you will be 70 year old - what are you going to do with them?

Everyone should have a balance between spending and saving. Because spending money on something that makes you happy is absolutely worth it.
Bravo! , I think you totally right imaging saving your life and restricting your with lots of pleasure that would have created memories and good times for you all in the name of acquiring more stacks of cash in your account, then eventually MR.DEATH comes knocking or later regrets show up because I bet you that when it gets to a certain age or time your supposed cash accumulated won't be more of an enjoyment when spending it even if you achieve your that supposed goal. It's better to live and also save up as the two can be done.

I actually don't drink often. I usually just drink once or twice a week, consuming 3 or 4 small bottles each time. A cold San Miguel Pale Pilsen is a perfect company when you're into some introspection or whatever. Of course, I don't count those times when I'm with friends. With them, I usually drink more and with a stronger drink.
Dude, you still drink more often when you compare yourself to me although I would debate on it because when I drink, 5 to 6 bottles with other hard drinks include but it's an occasional thing I do so... I don't like drinking alone though, I feel like alcohol is better enjoyed with a company so I haven't done it yet.
~
I'm curious, just what is Bitcoin to you? If you love your drink and you're happy having it every once in a while, why would you avoid it for the rest of your life just to attempt having 1BTC? What's 1BTC, anyway? Why would you let go of those beautiful moments drinking your cold beer in the beach, for example, or at your rooftop during sunset, or when there's an occasion?
Bitcoin to me is just a means of investment, that's it. For context, a lot of my relatives died of liver diseases so let me tell you this, if for real I was given a chance to get my hands to 1 bitcoin in exchange for not touching a bottle of alcohol again, I would take it no matter what, you can still have fun with your friends even without alcohol, that shit is just a marketing ploy made by those alcohol conglomerates to sell more beers, gins, tequilas and whiskeys. Just like you can still have fun in a club without powdering your nose with nose candy(cocaine). After all, it's the people that you choose to hang out with that's important right?
~
This isn't entirely different with so many people being too hard on themselves, trying to avoid watching a movie, drinking with friends, going to a vacation, use their work leave, buying good food, and so on because they're saving for a house and lot, a car, farm for their old parents; in short, their future. What is life? Life is here and now. Your future may or may not come. Balance is the key.
Well, the way to live a life imho is that you do what you want to do surrounded by the people that you love, now you can't say that people who devote their life to work and never go out partying as someone that didn't live their life, maybe they don't like partying or being surrounded by many people, maybe they're introverted or they only have fun with their close friends who are away and they can't contact. Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes. Just because you don't live their lives doesn't mean that you can say that they're not living their best life.

I don't have any special drink that I drink every day, it's mostly clean water (not from a plastic bottle or tap) or natural juices that we make every year. What I like to drink is good wine, and such wines have a price of around 50 EUR per bottle, - and I personally have no dilemma about what to buy, because when I buy a good wine, I drink one bottle and save the other as an investment🍷

Drinking of wine is another thing I really don't find interesting and I can't tell which had the best taste,. There's something in me that don't really accept wine, ones I perceive the smell of alcohol it kills my appetite for it I just don't know why. Is best I go for water instead😅.

Other than water, I usually only drink beer. I also drink the ever-popular Coke, of course, but I drink beer a lot more often. Nothing fancy, just the smaller, cheaper, and less strong San Miguel Pale Pilsen. It comes with 5% alcohol only. It tastes great. I used to hate it, but as I age it seems it slowly becomes the best choice.

I usually buys it at $1.27. So, with Bitcoin's price at $29,371.83, it means I have to give up 23,127 bottles. If I do it, I will die without drinking it ever again. That would be such a tragic life. If that's what it takes, to hell with Bitcoin!
I'm not as fond of the alcohol as @Darker45 is, so if I were given the same choice, I would probably choose to give up that 25k bottles of Red Horse to get my hands on 1 bitcoin. I wouldn't agree with non-alcohol life is a tragic life thouugh, maybe a bit unbearable but not a tragic one imo.

So, to drink (alcohol, or cola or tea or whatever  Roll Eyes ) or to buy Bitcoin???
^Haha, deciding between indulging in our favorite drinks and investing in Bitcoin can be a fun dilemma!
Let us break it down with some global perspectives, considering purchasing power parity (PPP) and dollar-cost averaging (DCA) for more interesting insights. So now, my favorite usual drink is a cup of tea. In some parts of the world, a cup of tea might cost around $2, and now, let us see how many cups of tea I had to forget to save up for one BTC.
Let us assume that the price of one BTC was around $30,000. Now, keep in mind that BTC's value can be highly volatile, so it probably has changed significantly since then. For the sake of this example, let us assume the price is still around $30,000.
Now, let us imagine that I decide to employ a dollar-cost averaging strategy to invest in BTC. Instead of buying it all at once, I will invest a fixed amount regularly. For instance, I will put aside $15 every week to buy BTC.
At that rate, I had been able to buy 2 cups of tea per week with my $30 budget. To save up for one BTC at $30,000, would take me a whopping 2,000 weeks, which is around 38 years and 5 months, I guess.

I have come to enjoy some of these pleasures like drinking alcohol, and in all my years of indulging, I have come to love whiskey, gin, stout, Heineken(among other beers), wine, palmwine of course among others am yet to taste or have tasted or de-taste. Hehehe.

On the average, the least #1k Naira which is about a dollar and 29 cents would afford me a bottle of Heineken which comes in cans of 24 in a pack/carton or bottle crates.
At the current BTC rate of $29,328, I couldn't possibly afford it because I don't drink more than 3bottles, nor drink any of the aforementioned in excess to that amount even when am among friends.

Current stand:
I will drink my booze in peace and plan for a DCA or to top my investment with an income and budget expenses plan from a valid income source.

I'm a social drinker, the only fluid I buy on regular basis is gasoline, since I drink filtered water, or tea, or...
For the purpose of the thread, I'll play along and give you an estimate of something that I like, but can't stop buying because even if I could stop drinking it, my wife would kill me if she were to find none of it in the morning.

On the average you have to spend £12 for a bag of decent coffee, so with around 23000 GBP per Bitcoin, you'd need to skip over 1.9k bags of coffee.
We usually buy 1 every month, so we'd be saving for almost 160 years to buy 1 bitcoin... I give up, it's better to drink coffee and forget about saving Cheesy

Your thread sparked a curiosity for me: how many BTC could your country’s citizens buy if all spendings on certain drinks were saved instead of spent.

Romania’s 2019 consumption of beer totaled 1,660,000,000 liters. Beers here aren’t cheap nor expensive either, a liter ranges between 1.5 and IDK, 3 euros? Let’s say a liter costs on the less expensive side in average, for the sake of this post only. If on average we spent 1.5 euros per liter and we drank 1,660,000,000 liters, that’s a total of 2,490,000,000€ spent on beers. Romanians could’ve bought over 93,500 BTC in total had they saved money for BTC instead of buying beer.

Am also not a fan to alcoholic rrinks bit instead i take soft drinks and non alcoholic wine, if we are to make an estimate amount spend on alcohol and the health implications it has towards our body, it will be a discovery that may sound absurd to us when we realized how much we have wasted which could have been invested, maybe some believed that drinking is part of enjoyment but i want to believe there are more means to enjoy life than drinking away life and resources, if we invested with our money, it could afford buying multiple of thousands of what would have left our hands while drinking, both free and the one that cost you should be disallowed because one day, you may be pushed to taking money to buy what you enjoy doing instead of thinking on what to invest.

I usually drink milktea and of course I choose the affordable one which doesn't hurt to my wallet that cost around $1-2. I think you would love the taste of it especially if you always crave it. But yeah the thing is after you've finish drinking it there's a thought that it would be better to save those dollars for investment, because I don't know after drinking I just have the unsatisfying feeling because I could drink water which is more healthy to hydrate yourself. Maybe if I calculate all of those cost of buying milktea it might reach $10-20. But as of now, I've surpassed that buying milktea as a part of the lifestyle which I think it's good cause those spare money could go straight to investment. If you want changes you can actually do it because once you've succeed at investing at Bitcoin you could buy any amount you want.

I always drink 1-2 cups of black tea during early morning time only and after that I avoid any drinks. The two cups of tea cost me less than a $0.25 per day and if I save that money then I won't be getting huge advantage to purchase more coins with just that amount of money. I have other expenses like buying a lot of fruits and organic foods, and all those costs me around $3 dollars per day in my country.

I'm quite sure that I will do more work to save money and invest that into Bitcoin, and I hope that in 2025 or later I will be able to have my own Bitcoin, and until then I will continue enjoying my life the way it is, and giving up of the food and fruits won't help me to achieve my goals because after all health is more important than wealth.

I don't drink alcohol all that much, except when i go out with the boys, but that happens occasionally, so alcohol isn't a part of my favorite drinks. What i take more often is Coca-Cola, i have come to enjoy it so much and i think i take one of it at least every three days or so. It costs around $0.28 if you convert it from my local currency to dollars.

If i am to forfeit my favorite drink to buy 1BTC, i will have to forfeit over 100,700 of it. I won't leave one for the other anyway, i will just continue buying my favorite drink and BTC Cool.

Of course, some wines are more special than others, not only because of quality, but also because of some other things Smiley

Hm... I normally drink my tea daily, but it's not like I buy a pack of tea every day, and I'm not the type of person to buy drinks in a café or elsewhere regularly. A 100g pack of black tea (I choose Ahmad tea, Monomax, sometimes Lovare) costs around 100 UAH (EUR 2.5) in Ukraine, and it's enough for around half a month. The current price of BTC is EUR 26,565. That means I would take 10,626 packs of tea to save up for 1 BTC (at a current price, not adjusted to inflation and without accounting for the potential growth of BTC price). Since I need around 2 packs per month, it means being 5,313 months without black tea or 442 years  Grin

I really love to start my morning with a cup of coffee and a particular soft drink, either during the daytime or for dinner. So, a Cup of the mixed coffee every morning and a can of Schweppes either in the daytime or in the evening would cost me about $1.8 every day. $0.3 for coffee and $1.5 for the soft drink. I will have to let go of 18,000 cans and 10,000 sachets of mixed coffee in order to buy one Bitcoin.

I don't think it's very possible to let go of the two, but rather I can discipline myself to make sure I am Investing more than usual so I can be able to archive 1 Bitcoin even in a shorter period of time than it might take me if I only decide to save $1.8 every day.

What an interesting idea, exchanging beer for Bitcoin. Just think of the stories we could tell our grandchildren about how we sacrificed the finer things in life in order to acquire our Bitcoin fortunes.

When it comes down to it, I'm just a plain old guy. For two dollars and fifty cents, I can get a good old fashioned Americano. To save up for a Bitcoin, I would have to forego a whooping 26,000 cups of coffee. But hey, I shouldn't need any coffee if the excitement of following Bitcoin's value keeps me on my toes.

And yes, I am currently writing this from my favorite European cafe. Here's to the exciting new Bitcoin world!

Not really a deal breaker - but we should start asking the question - What else can I sacrifice
in order to buy Bitcoin?

Hmm, and a question back to you, does one really have to "sacrifice" things in order to invest=buy btc?
Rhetorical of course!

Btw guys I'm still on holiday and still enjoying a beer now and then  Shocked I'm going to update the table into a better format and give some more merit to the contributors once I'm all set in the next hotel and I'm done with planes and airports for a week.
Keep it coming as it has proven quite interesting, far more than I was expecting, especially on the habits and take on this, more than the prices themselves!  Cool

Well I suppose it depends on a persons circumstances, personally I am always sacrificing
and compromising because my income doesnt allow for everything I want or to do.

Maybe we could look at it in terms of Sacrificing now to buy Bitcoin which is essentially
delaying gratification!?

I don't like fizzy and alcoholic drinks. But I'm a total coffee addict. However recently or in the past few months I have restricted myself from drinking too much coffee. I used to drink almost 5 cups of coffee every day. But right now I only drink about 3 glasses because I'm saving money and taking care of my body's health. namely 1 glass before work, 1 glass during work breaks, and 1 glass after work while doing online activities.

The price I have to pay for 1 cup of coffee is $ 0.2 . which means 150000 cups of coffee per 1 BTC (BTC Price = $30000) .

In this case I can not leave the coffee drink. because it also helps me stay focused on work. And I have to make more money working. So sorry your BTC lost by coffee. hahahaha but don't worry because the money that DCA makes is for you, O BTC. 50000 glasses = 50000 days = 139 years. DCA which is quite old.

I am not the soft drink or carbonated drink fan. Due to the fear of certain health condition like diabetes we all in my house have restrained ourselves from taking carbonated drinks. But, whenever we want to have a drink we always go for yoghurt.

If it's for the whole family we always purchase Hollandia yoghurt which cost around 1.12$ but it's not something we purchase often.

For individual consumption, we always go for Nutri-Yo which cost around 0.29$ and like I said before I'm not a fan of soft drink but if I'm ever to purchase any for my consumption this is the one I go for. And I'll have to refuse a  total of 101,221 bottles if I'm to get a Bitcoin with my yoghurt money.

My favourite drink:
Stavros Ouzo
Last time, it was discounted for €5.99. That means I can get 4446 bottles for 1BTC. I may be able to get a bulk discount, but I'd also need to get a truck, and since I buy them in Germany and alcohol imports aren't taxed as long as it is for your own consumption, I may have some explaining to do too Grin

In short, your favorite usual drink, no it doesn't really have to be an alcoholic beverage!!!, its price, and how many of them you have to forget and leave in the shop before check-out till you save for one BTC.
Let's face it: this is never going to save me a whole Bitcoin! I will never be able to finish 4446 bottles of 38% 0.7l Ouzo in my life. It would kill me long before I finish the last one, but at least I'd be able to say it's enough to give me a terrible headache for the rest of my life.

Come to think of it: when Bitcoin was worth €59.000, my Ouzo was even cheaper! I could have bought 10746 bottles back then, and resell them for 2.4BTC now. I've been going at this all wrong Cheesy

Funny research.

"To drink or to buy coins?" - Why is everyone drawn to different extremes? After all, you can combine both options, right. Wink

Whiskey Johnnie Walker Red label 0.5L    ~11,25$/Bottle = 2608 bottles + 1/2 bottle for 1BTC.

I suppose this is not a small batch for which you can still demand a discount. Smiley

There are certain things that you cannot sacrifice in life and that is some kind of liquid that feeds the body and soul. So, I will much rather go with less food, than drinking less of that substance that makes life more fun.

It is part of my life to come back from a hard day of work and to pour a glass of wine or open a Beer and then to relax in front of the TV or computer to watch my favorite Movie or Series and to gamble.

So I will rather eat less vegetables to safe some money for my next Bitcoin.  Grin Grin Grin

I was about to do this but it seems you got to it first, my choice of poison is 500 ml Red Horse though which would make me give up 25,587 since it's around 68 PHP here and at the time that I calculated this, bitcoin's price is around 29,353 USD. When you look at this number, you always think back of the time that you've bought yourself or contributed to the money pool that you're mates created to buy more alcoholic beverages and make yourself regret doing that instead of investing those alcohol money even though it's a nonsensical thing to do.

I don't think the problem here is on any particular drink, but simply to limit some wasteful habits to invest in, as in a topic that has appeared before the problem is to give up smoking to buy bitcoin
I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week there are some ideas that I've come across that are also very interesting, for someone who regularly uses beer as a daily beverage it's hard to warn them that it's dangerous to their own lives, only when health problems or morale decrease can people become aware of bad behaviors in life that bring waste.

What is real savings? There are many different concepts about them, but I find the problem is that as long as we use things usefully for ourselves as well as for the people around us, so there is no need to be too strict about privacy. That makes us uncomfortable, other people can't save yet, it won't affect our saving.

I have multiple drinks I choose from, but on average I spend about €1 every few days on drinks I buy often. That’s 26,600 drinks I’d have to give up if I wanted to save for BTC.

It’s worse if I calculate how much time it’d take me. I buy a drink about every 3 days. That’s.. say 120 drinks on average per year (the number is much lower imo). If Bitcoin’s price froze, I’d need about 221 years to buy a Bitcoin. Cheesy

Deleted my first reply since I don't want to fill the topic with my posts so I'm going to put them all in one:

alcohol just becomes a headache to manage and a toilet flush 6 hours later.. its a waste

I've mentioned it's not just about alcohol, you can have it in sips of black tea.
As for investing, some like to have fun in their life more than look at the ROI after the doc has to prescribe blue pills.

~

I've put both options in the table, and yeah, just drop everything so you can hoard coins and end up in your sixty with no friends no social life poor health but with a few money it's kind of sad, so enjoy your life people, because it might be over before you know it.

anyways, i prefer the bread loaf measure. or the min wage measure.

The minimum wage is my other topic and although I agree on the bread the moment I start that one I will find out half of the forum doesn't eat bread at all and the others only pita or tortillas so it will turn just like this

But, I have a certain amount of my paycheck that is dedicated to both weed and btc purchases per month.  Keep it as simple as that.  I don't go outside that much.

You do realize your is one of the most interesting post here, so how many (how do we even measure this), let's say joints for 1 BTC?

However, considering the current price of Bitcoin, I would need to forgo approximately 2400 bottles of beer to afford one Bitcoin.

Hmm, what kind of beer do you drink at more than $12 a bottle?

Not really a deal breaker - but we should start asking the question - What else can I sacrifice

This is an interesting concept, it makes you realise how you could prioritise what you
spend your money on, and what to eliminate or cut back on in order to reallocate that
money to buying Bitcoin.

I spend about €18 per month on beer, thats a crate of 12 bottles. At Bitcoins current market
value of €26,600 thats 1477
months.

or, each bottle is €1.50 so in order to buy Bitcoin now I would have to not drink 17,733 bottles.

Welp. Never been much of a drinker myself but when my friends and I used to go drinking in our old bootcamp days, we'd buy this specific type of brandy which if I'm not mistaken is around $3.50  per bottle:

We only ever drink once or twice a month, sometimes we don't even go drinking unless there's an occasion like a birthday or anniversary. As for other drinks, I usually go for Starbucks coffee on a daily basis which is more or less around 2 dollars from where I live. and with the current state of bitcoin this all adds up to:

Coffee: 14,658.5 cups
Brandy: 9,772.3 bottles

That's basically how much of these I'd need to collect to come up with 1 BTC's worth of bottles of brandy and cups of coffee,

To drink (alcohol,  Roll Eyes ) or to buy Bitcoin???

In short, your favorite usual drink, no it doesn't really have to be an alcoholic beverage!!!, its price, and how many of them you have to forget and leave in the shop before check-out till you save for one BTC.
There is no one who can entirely refrain from drinking, whether it is alcoholic, non-alcoholic, or soft drinks, but there are those who drink excessively to the point of immoderate consumption; the abuse of alcoholic beverages can cause addiction, which the alcoholic cannot stop drinking even if it causes him health problems, and he can sell at a loss his investments in Bitcoin in order to buy and drink it.

Me, I do not prefer any drinks that make me addicted to them, and I prefer to buy and drink green tea, but in moderation throughout the day to improve and stimulate brain activity and memory and provide me with the vigilance I need in my trading. I can consume +5,000 packages of 20 bags (one package can let me drink more than 16 cups for more than a week) In order for me to reach the price of 1 BTC.

We can moderately drink healthy drinks that do not harm our health and buy our coins and invest in bitcoins with money in excess of our needs and our drinking, and if we can reduce the amount of our drinking, here comes the savings through which we can invest this money in Bitcoin.

I've mentioned it's not just about alcohol, you can have it in sips of black tea.
Ah .... I also think it at first.
So it's not only about buying alcohol but several types of drinks outside.
Actually, I should and ideally prefer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. But in fact, I often buy bottled drinks or some cold sweet drinks with various flavors. Usually, it costs $1 in my country for a drink and I do about 2 times a week. It's not alcohol but drinking is really refreshing haha
I certainly don't want to compare drinking to buying Bitcoin. So, I must have good money management for this and other things to spend.
However, I think it's not a problem to spend a little money to buy this drink, it's just that maybe the intensity should be reduced, at least once a week the maximum. Because after all, this type of drink is not only a waste of my money but also actually not very good for health and body condition, because of the high sugar content in it.

So, to drink (alcohol,  Roll Eyes ) or to buy Bitcoin???
It is not only alcoholics that have a habit that takes money that can be used for buying bitcoins away, other people without a drinking habit still have other habits that they spend money on and need to correct. If you are an individual that has any of these money consuming habits, calculate how much you spend on your habit and how much you can actually be investing if you had a better habit. Having an estimate of the money that you will waste on habits can help you to make better decision for the money you have to avoid spending up to what you have estimated your habit to consume.

This is interesting; let me try and make a rough calculation. I usually take two bottles of Bear Minimium in a week, but I realized Tommy was changing shape and appeared to be older than that of my age mates since I'm also too lazy to take some exercise, so I swapped out some energy drinks called "Fearless," which I don't lack in my refrigerator right now; I have it by the side of my PC, dragging space with my mouse.

Each park contains 12 pairs, and the Park price is usually about 4.4 dollars if it's being converted from my local currency, and I usually consume about 2 park minimums in a month, which is a total of 24 bottles of it every month, each of which will cost me 0.36 dollars. which means I will have to give up 81,400 bottles in order to save up money worth 1 bitcoin at the price of $29,300 as of the time of this post. How long will it take me to gather up the amount that I spent on this drink in order to buy 1 bitcoin? I have already lost count.

counting how many drinks you won't buy to get 1 BTC would be overwhelming for you. so just look at the bigger picture. whatever you will save from buying the drinks, will go to your btc portfolio. in time, you will thank yourself for having some satoshis, and maybe your health is much better without those alcohol, right? because if you will think of those thousands of bottles you will save just to buy 1BTC, you may never stop buying drinks.

I drink non-alcoholic drinks more especially coca cola products but not all the time, and if I can accumulate the amount of drinks I drink a week times a month it will not be suitable for an investment because 1 bottle of a coca cola is $0.31, I don't drink the whole week but multiple $0.31 time seven (7) is $2.17 and it will not be suitable for investment because the minimum amount of Bitcoin you can buy in Nigeria in some platforms is $6.47 but that's amount of investment will not be okay for me to invest with, so I will stop drinking for six (6) months so I can save up money for investment, am not trying to say that you have to quit drinking for investment or anything, but the only thing you have to do is to have a enthusiasm for it, you can be drinking your beers and still invest in Bitcoin, hope am right, but if you think saving beer money to invest in Bitcoin is good then, do it.
Although is not easy for an acholic adict to save beer money to invest in Bitcoin because is somehow tempting, hope am correct?

Interesting... in my country I grill a steak almost every day with my flatmate after work and have a bottle of the local Darget beer. It would be interesting to calculate how much I spend on this per month or even a year, given the fact that my wife tells me every day: - "again Huh wtf Huh" stop drinking beer and eating steaks - it would be better if I bought a new apartment. I even understand deep down that this is much more than the cost of one bitcoin, which i potentially throwing money every day. And perhaps it was necessary to buy crypto and make x10. But every time I return home from work, I understand that I cannot live without it, without that very beer and juicy steak, as this is part of my philosophy, or, if I may say so, this is my fetish that allows me not to burn out from my work.
So my feelings....fu** the crypt, give more beer Smiley)

Its been over 2 years since I last buy a soft drink and I have to ask a friend about whats the price of coca cola these days. 500 ml is fine if you are alone or have one or two friend with you. 1.5 litre is economical if you have large number of people to drink.

I just find out that online grocery stores are selling 6 bottles of Coke/Pepsi at price of 2.5 to 2.75 dollars. May be you can find more discount if you visit super mart in person. https://grocerapp.pk/products/coca-cola-1-5lx6-236636/

Better stay away from these drinks and invest in Bitcoin instead.

To OP question, alcohol is not allowed in my country (Pakistan) and people here have to mostly rely on soft drinks and juices. One can get three 500 ml Coca Cola drinks in 1 USD here. So one has to wait a lot to get one Bitcoin by giving up soft drinks.

I stopped drinking beers a year ago and mostly consume water more than any other drink. I do take malts a couple of times weekly - It's a non-alcoholic drink that I've come to enjoy in recent times.  I don't how realistic it would be for someone to save all money meant for drinks like this and accumulate enough for it to reach the price of 1BTC. Seems unrealistic.

The price is approx. $0.3. Based on this, I'd have to give up 98,000 bottles.

Weed smokers should hit the 1BTC equivalent a lot faster IMO.  Smiley

Haha, Interesting, Well well, Alcohol Drinking is prohibited (In the Country and in Religion), But I use to drink a lot haha obviously its not Alcohol, Energy Drinks just "String" Ocisinally like 2 or 3 a week, so it costs around 35 Cents and Coke like in routine 1 at least sometimes with friends and family 2 or more. So it costs around 50 cents to 1.5$ (on average of 3) per day. According to these calculations, I need to stop drinking until the count of 58000 coke to Buy 1 BTC around 2857 weeks, and for the case of String, it will be around 82825 Drinks. 27619 Week haha seems Impossible to me hehe, I need to find another way.

So Keep drinking with a smile and find a good job to do DCA, Enjoy and BUY Bitcoins.

I am not used to drink so much soft drinks like coca cola, Pepsi etc. And i am not used to drink Bear either. But i love to drink Mango Juice Which Costs me around 1.2$ (that's the minimum price based on the inflation rate currently going on in my country) but mostly i also drink soft drinks and make that 1.6$. So, if i am drinking and spending 1.6$ on them then i have to give up 18,750 Drinks to buy 1 BTC at the price tag of 30,000$.

I think that's a good deal for me, but i prefer not to give up on anything like on my drinks instead i would love to work a little more to save 1.6$ so that i would be able to buy 1 BTC but i am just making this calculation day wise. which means i also have to wait for 18,750 days. As in one day i spend only 1.6$ on my drinks. Which means i have to wait 51 years maybe. Well, now i am definitely not going to leave drinking either i have to spend 2$ because health is better then having BTC which will be of no use to me when i have no health (just kidding, i could also use BTC at that time too).  Cheesy Cheesy

Ever since I was diagnosed with T2 Diabetes I gave up all sort of processed drinks like soft drinks, juices, energy drinks etc. I feel great but I do go out for dinner once in a week.

To OP question, alcohol is not allowed in my country (Pakistan) and people here have to mostly rely on soft drinks and juices. One can get three 500 ml Coca Cola drinks in 1 USD here. So one has to wait a lot to get one Bitcoin by giving up soft drinks.

BTC Rocks
I think these all about situation and passion. I saw many users that they are saving their tiffin money or pocket money to invest in Bitcoin. Because they have passion or want to be a part of this Digital Currency. I even saw some are selling their assets or jewellery to invest in it. So it may varries person to person if they want to save their drinking cost and invest in Bitcoin.

If I say my story I was very addicted to drink various cold drinks even 1/2 litter a day and occasionally alcohol. But I minimized it and other unnecessary costs to invest in Bitcoin. And now I have some profits what I usually use to drink to have a good health but I never waste. So I will obviously don't leave drinking but surely I will minimize it and invest rest of them in the most Potential Cryptocurrency.I think it's the best choice to have. And obviously alcohol is injurious to heath and I left it and reduced my unnecessary costs for drinking so that I can invest more in Bitcoin.

I don't go outside that much.

alcohol just becomes a headache to manage and a toilet flush 6 hours later.. its a waste

I've mentioned it's not just about alcohol, you can have it in sips of black tea.
As for investing, some like to have fun in their life more than look at the ROI after the doc has to prescribe blue pills.

did i say to never have drunk any beer in 2012..  i said some(just a 6pack), thus not harm your lifestyle

either way, whatever wasteful consumable you an live without for one day a week is disposable income (anything that becomes a toilet flush the next day) is far better to invest in crypto than to sign up to credit card and use debt to invest

the key is not leave yourself short, but put the excess or wasteful amount into investments. then you wont care as much upfront about the investment but reap the rewards to afford all the blue pills you need later

if someone told you in 2012 to stop drinking a 6pack of beer each evening (42 a week) you took one day off per week from drinking. meaning for 2012 you accumilated ~52btc. where by 11 years later you can cash out $1.5m , would you still get drunk all week

anyways, i prefer the bread loaf measure. or the min wage measure. beer can be all over the place in prices.. and in dizziness if you prefer to consume thousands of bottles rather than invest
min wage is more stable. but bread is less stable but more stable in comparison to beer. beer has too many varieties, strengths and market spread of prices. so min wage and then a stable staple consumable.. not so much beer

minimum wage is better because its national. where was beer is banned in some countries and the price varies from one store to the next or any/all bars/pubs of the same town

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I'm very much in doubt how you would begin to think of saving up 20 thousand bottles of kozel premium in your closet?... Lol. Save the energy to correct, I knew exactly how you'd wanna do that. Lol... Tongue
It doesn't really feel great when you go about saving 1.30E( I don't know what currency that is) every single day for about - say roughly 5 years( I didn't calculate, just made some raw analysis), but anyone would feel really comfortable to get those drinks, even at a higher price 😂
What a world!! But I normally eat every meals with a bottle of fanta - it cost 250 naira so I'll definitely need to stake up 90,965 times to get 1 BTC

the whole idea of using disposible income to invest, is to use the income that would just go to waste andnot stick around. much better to invest..

if smart. if you invested a 6 pack of beers in 2012 you can now buy 20,000 beers in 2023

Since it will be expressed in prices and tastes all over the world probably a more interesting image on PPP and DCA (drinking costs averages)

In short, your favorite usual drink, no it doesn't really have to be an alcoholic beverage!!!, its price, and how many of them you have to forget and leave in the shop before check-out till you save for one BTC.

Note:
Use the drink you're used to buying daily or something, not some fancy thing you buy once a year because that would really screw things up.
Second note, If it's something more exotic please drop an image or a link.
Third note:
If you're not afraid of getting doxxed, mention the continent at least.

Me:
Kozel Premium Pißwasser, 1.30E/ bottle, so I need to give up 20,472 beers!,
