First time i saw this thread, i thought it's a joke. Would they really spend those big amounts (including paying its users per post and paying for bitcointalk signature campaign) to promote the new forum? Sadly to say, Yes they could.

I think Crypto-Talk is doing good for this forum in a way. All the shit posters from here are migrating there and posting their low-quality bullshit which isn't encouraged here. I don't see any point of members debating the quality of that forum here as it's completely upto their admins to take care of it. Be happy that we are getting rid off the shit posters somehow. Also,  the competition is over and the results : https://cryptotalk.org/topic/16-contest-make-max-posts-and-win-1-btc/page/16/?tab=comments#comment-379378

Not only do his posts not contain an original thought, they don't even make sense. All his posts were like this. To call these decent posts is laughable, and rewarding someone 1 BTC for making them even more so. The only thing he deserves is a ban.

So what can I say after - according to Cryptotalk moderators, his posts for seems good and eligible to participate in competition and get a reward. For bitcointalk moderators/community most of his posts are crap. Conclusion - cryptotalk is far weaker ( or not so profession) as a cryptocurrency forum than bitcointalk.

Correct? Do you agree?

I could find a topic, hit reply, churn out one of the posts above, and hit post in about 30 seconds. All you need to do is pick up on a single word or phrase from the topic title, and say something completely generic and meaningless using that phrase. You don't have to read the replies, or even the opening post. For the three posts I linked to above, you just pick "email", "change the world", and "altcoin price", spit out any old word salad, and move on.

What I was trying to say, thet all his 3900+ post were not like “good project” / “good work” / “i fully agree with you” and etc. Or didnt spam with bounty reports.

The guy trully spent a lot of time and received what he deserved
This is not what defines what is spam or what's not.

There are 2 types of shitpost:

a) the blatantly shitpost "good project", "good work", "i agree", bounty posts, etc...
b) the shitpost desguised as a half-assed post: redundant or meaningless posts, repeating things that already have been said, etc... want an example? the entire "Bitcoin Discussion" board.

The problem is that most people think that only the A) posts are spam. This serves as a breach for people to spam the forum (here and on cryptotalk) with posts that are worthless. Unless people start actually looking at the posts and what they mean to the thread or discussion in question, there will always be a shit ton of spam.

I talk more about this in this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52651056

Interesting fact - this person writes decent posts. They are 2-3 lines mostly. That is about 200-300 characters. He is not just spamming with 2-5 words posts. This guy probably has a lot of free time, as he posts during whole day.
Would you can these good posts?

I mean, just look at his insightful and meaningful posts:

THis is true and you should be aware of this , before i dont use any email but this yahoo thing.their rocketmail.com, yahoomail.com and yahoo.com. i now use GMAIL only and dont forget to have its security.
I think only bitcoin can do that not the cryptocurrency itself😊 But I can't deny that crypto nowadays are too popular too already in the entire world now also. but does not mean it can change the world.
These must be expected by many here in the forum, where most of the altcoins will follows bitcoin trend in the market are those token that has a full of potential to bounce the price to the moon.

With such invaluable contributions as those, who wouldn't want to keep him around!?

200-300 characters =/= good post.

Since when length of the post = quality?

If so, then for someone who is able to create 3000 posts in one month, i think he has a dead/locked/banned account in bitcointalk.
The only good thing in cryptotalk is that he , probably, clean the bitcointalk forum from some thousands of spammers.

I sign up there but not yet posted that many, I just find out that they are limiting their post to 30 for all users, so those early members that already posting thousands of post already win the contest, they should have lifted the limit while the contest is ongoing to keep everyone the chance on the contest, the 1 bitcoin is already won the contest is over.

Best rule to implement is to ban spammers by one day so if they ban they lose one day to participate in the contest.

I have checked the forum. I saw one guy already who's status still New Member already made over 1000 posts. (there must be more with a thousand) and some have in hundreds. I guess if I join this contest I have to make some 10,000 posts till 1st November to beat those spammers. that would be insane.
hopefully they have good moderators and only deserving people win the prizes.
escrow would be a great option.

Those with such amount of post are no longer newbie if you look closely you will see that there are different rank in the forum now, for a person to have 1000 post that means he/she is now on Member or Full Member rank, each rank requires some certain amount of post to reach it, I don't know how that guy have 1000 post and his status still read New Member,

Is the Cryptotalk still open for registration I have sign up but I haven't received my confirmation and it's been 3 hours I keep repeating sending the confirmation but nothing is coming in my in box and spam folder there is chaos in the forum right now, because I read the moderators cannot keep up with the so many spam post coming .

I read in the forum about some people having the same problem as yours, coming from those who invited their friends, I can't say if the admins have resolve it or not but I see some new members coming in every day which means some people are still able to register,
Also some members complains about nothing getting paid for their post, myself included,  I think the admins are looking into it as well, I have actively use the forum for 2 days and got paid for all my post but did not get payment for the 3rd day, I haven't been very active since 2 days now though.

With 1 btc at stake, spam posters are inevitable. Originally, the big prizes to encourage members to contribute to advancing the forum, but the spam posters and non-constructive posts should not be calculated which is a huge task for moderators. Even we can easily spot some members post in 2-5 minutes without no clue regarding the object they are talking about.

I do not find this a good marketing technique to get traffic on the forum. Yes, you will get a lot of traffic and signup as long as there is some monetary value for doing so.

I've created an account over there just to see what's happening and not really intending to make the maximum posts, but the common formula on the forum is someone would be re-posting articles from a year or two ago and people would build up their discussion from there, at which point it will get reported and the topic would be deleted. There are some lucky, plagiarized content that passes the hammer, though, and if CryptoTalk want to get their forum the organic and original content it needs, and of course some regulars on the forum, they might want to step-up their game.

Trust me, after it's all said and done by November, traffic at the site would diminish.

Maybe they come up with some other offer to keep up the posting and traffic but this is not how a forum is established.  Undecided
