In recent years, football has become a sport in which a team's financial situation has greatly helped in its achievements in domestic or foreign competitions, and it seems to me that in the Brazilian league, the smaller teams are in better financial conditions when compared to the smaller teams in the leagues of other South American countries, as is the quality of the squad, which is why I'm not surprised to see Brazilian teams having a better chance of winning South American competitions and even in cases where they don't win, at least Brazilian teams manage to go further.

Brazilian football is in a phase of professionalization of football management, which was initiated by Flamengo and Palmeiras, and soon after the "SAF" entered to invest heavily in football and clubs, so it is somewhat natural that Brazil stands out in these championships, the rest of the clubs in South America are falling behind in management (I believe)... This for me is one of the reasons for all this difference.

Exactly, this issue of alternation is so important to create competitiveness that we don't have a team that always wins. Brazil is really at a high level in South America. But, there is still a long way to go before it can get close to European football.

[/quote]South American football is gradually gaining more space, who knows, maybe we will have a brazilian club competing in the Club World Cup final again.

It's good to see this alternation of winners in championships like the South American, on the other hand, clubs that don't become more professional and start to behave like a company, such as seeking greater financial balance, seeking more foreign investors and making signings without putting the clubs in debt will end up falling behind.

Congratulations to Racing, Argentine victory! It was painful to see Cruzeiro concede another goal in the last 20 seconds of the game while they were giving their last gasp in search of a miraculous draw. The team was very competent, beating all 3 Brazilian clubs.

It's great to see teams from other countries winning too, this is good for South American football as a whole to become stronger and stronger, after all, in recent years only Brazilian teams have been winning these "stronger" continental tournaments:

Libertadores, the last non-Brazilian champion was River Plate in 2018, only in the Sulamericana cup has there been a rotation of teams... I hope this changes soon and that the other South American teams can also become protagonists of more continental tournaments.

I even thought that since a Brazilian lost to a team that hadn't beaten them in years, the Brazilians could be worse off. But it turns out that the teams that go to the "Sula" end up not being that strong. So, once again, all the credit to Racing!

Breaking a drought of several years without international titles. This should be glorified, besides, as you mentioned, beating three Brazilians. It is a deserved victory, without a shadow of a doubt. And for Cruzeiro, the prize for the second, which is also not so bad.

Nobody is gonna congratulate Racing club of Avellaneda for being the winner of this tournament?  Cheesy Grin

Poor racing hahaha, is one of the most "cursed" team in Argentina, so good for them to finally win something. Racing was the first winner of the Libertadores and also winner of the International cup back in the 60´.

The short answer is no.  Grin Grin Grin But Cruzeiro also has its merits for getting this far. But congratulations to Racing, if I'm not mistaken they've gone more than thirty years without winning any international titles. And in 1999 they overcame bankruptcy and reorganized themselves as 'SAF'. They really deserve everything that's been happening! Congratulations to Racing!

I just found this thread, well this racing its not nearby to be good, they have some names but they are not so good. They are super irregular also. I dont know how Racing manage to go into the final, i think they ahve a big luck in the first game against Corinthians with two majestic goals.

About Cruziero - Racing final..... i dont know what to think i see the whole Cruzeiro Boca game and it was pathetic by Cruzeiro Boca with one less man for the whole match was nearby to win it. But Racing is also not a reliable team.

The quality of the games is a little lower, because the teams that qualify for this championship are the teams that usually fail to qualify for the Copa Libertadores. I consider the Copa Sudamericana to be a sort of second division of the continental tournament, with the Copa Libertadores being equivalent to the first division.

I hadn't stopped to think about it that way. It really is like the second division, but I always catch myself thinking that the Libertadores champion always loses to the winner of the "Sula". I know it's just my impression, but I always question myself about it.

It's something I also think about with the international club championship, the World Cup. I always think that any Brazilian team can be better or at least compete with the champion. It's really just a matter of timing.

Well since we are all from here we all know how good was the Sudamericana in his first edition it was like a second Libertadores, because the same teams plays at super high level, when Sudamericana starts to be a second tier and the top teams only play in Libertadores Sudamericana starts to lose his quality.

In the past, few teams managed to qualify for the Libertadores, only the top 4 in the Brazilian championship, today came 6 spots + the spot from the Brazilian Cup, that is, only teams with average performance qualify for the South American, perhaps it is a strategy to give a chance to be champion to the team that could not have a good season in the Brazilian championship, or also to move more prize money between these average teams, that is, to try to balance the finances of the championships... well, this is just my speculation.

Everything was as it should be, a classic between two South American clubs, brazil vs. Argentina, with an Argentine and a brazilian club facing off to decide who will take home the trophy.

The teams have already faced each other three times in finals.

You was right Forsyth Jones, Corinthians lost the game for Racing and lost the best chance of the year
The team started really good, playing better than Racing, and even scored a goal first, they make me believe in a final against Cruzeiro...

... but them Corinthians turned into Corinthians again, and conceded 2 goals in 3 minutes, that was the time that team lost the classification
Sometimes it's hard to believe in Corinthians  Tongue

At least I didn't bet any amount of money
Corinthians won the battle but lost the war. This is the worst phase of Corinthians that will definitely be remembered in the team's history. I can't blame them, because every team has its worst phase. Now it's up to the team to go through a restructuring and raise its head for the championships next year.

This is the semi finals:

To me, it will be good to see Corinthians and Cruzeiro in the final  Cool
It won't be easy for both brazilian teams, specially Corinthians. Racing is a tough opponent, and the bad thing for brazilians is, both matches will be decided in Argentina, so it's even harder

I think it's a good bet on Corinthians in the first match at least

What are your predictions in final?

I believe that the Argentine team will have the upper hand, as they are flying and very hungry for victory, but I haven't seen Cruzeiro's games, so I can't say anything about them.
But if Cruzeiro wins, I will be very satisfied with a brazilian team winning the title and returning to the continental spotlight.

You ended up showing me the Portuguese championship, which I didn't watch that much, and I ended up winning some bets there too. Thanks!

Yesterday I only bet on Racing qualifying, they were at home and there they tend to finish more too. So it would be something very similar, I thought it would be penalties but I ended up getting it right anyway.

Congratulations!
I didn't bet any money because even if I root to Corinthians, I really didn't believe 100% in a classification, so I prefer to just watch (and suffer of course)

If you liked Portuguese championship, I suggest the thread of our friend Joker_Josue: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/portuguese-league-liga-portugal-202425-5505111
Nice place to talk about portuguese league

getting back to Sudamericana, what are the predictions of all of yous guys?

Cruzeiro or Racing to win the cup?

I do like Corinthians as well but they really struggle this season on all departments of the club so achieving a semi-final in Sudamaricana is more than impressive for them at this point.

Regarding who will win the trophy , I think Racing should have the first chance because overall they are a better team and also they proved of being capable of scoring more goals than Cruizero for the entire Sudamericana season.

I had made two other bets that ended up covering the loss, I even posted them here on the forum. But I didn't lose confidence in them until the day of the game. They showed that they can do it, they just need something to click. I hope they're thinking about it.

Oh yes, good, after you told me I saw your post about betting on Vasco and Sport too  Cheesy
Corinthians has been difficult for those who bet on it hehehe

Corinthians is an unpredictable team, but i believe that the team is under a lot of pressure now in this final stretch of the year, as the team is still fighting to avoid relegation in the Brasileirão. So betting on Corinthians may not be a good time.

But if the team is more focused on this South American Cup title, then it may increase Corinthians' chances of victory, but willpower alone is not a decisive factor in football, as it depends on a series of factors.

It´s hard to explain how a team fightning to stay in Serie A, can get to semi-finals of 2 important competitions  Tongue
It will be very hard (but not impossible) to beat Racing in Argentina, maybe some penalties to put every fan in anxiety  Grin Grin Grin

Predicting the results of this competition is a very difficult task for me...

South American football is always hard to predict and to bet, lots of surprises, like teams doing well in cups, and terrible at local league, just like Corinthians

Yesterday Cruzeiro won Lanús 1 x 0 and it's already classified to the final

There's one match left for the semi finals, Corinthians vs Racing today
There are 3 brazilian teams in south american finals (Botafogo, Atlético MG ( Libertadores) and Cruzeiro(Sudamericana))

I hope Corinthians classify too  Cool Cool Cool
It's true that brazilian teams in South American championships are quite unpredictable, making the game more exciting, and each victory when betting on a team is always a celebration with an extra taste for the risk taken.

For this game, I believe that Corinthians will not make it to the final, despite having drawn in the last game.

I don't believe that Galo will be able to beat Botafogo, that's my bet.

I hope Botafogo doesn't disappoint me haha

Don't forget guys: Cruzeiro vs Lanus -  Oct 30th
Corinthians vs Racing - Oct - 31st

Predicting the results of this competition is a very difficult task for me. I would say it is more difficult because I prefer the results of the UEFA league conference games, but in my opinion the Argentine team is better in the local league and has shown itself to be a strong enough team to at least finish in a good position in the Argentine league, while on the other side we have Corinthians who are fighting not to be relegated in the local league. So this competition is much more important for Corinthians because they need to please the fans and the board with at least some achievement and then have greater motivation to get out of the relegation zone. But I am of the opinion that the Argentine team will win the game.

Unlikely Libertadores, every scenarios are possible on this competition. You can have a final between two argentinian teams, two brazilian teams or even one brazilian and one argentinian team. I think the brazilian teams have total conditions of reaching the finals, despite them not being on their finest performance at the current moment. However, it's really hard to bet on the following matches, because the scenario looks totally unpredictable.

I believe Cruzeiro and Corinthians are going to pass to the final stage. Cruzeiro played really badly and demotivated, but they managed scoring first and keeping the result on their favour for a while. They just had to hold on for longer and the advantage could be theirs. But no problem at all, now everything is tied once again.

I believe it's one of the most balanced semi-finals in recent times
I see a 50% chance for each team at the moment, Cruzeiro, Lanus, Corinthians and Racing
Impossible to say a favorite right now even if Argentinians will play at home

It's impressive to note that in the Libertadores, the final is almost entirely Brazilian with Botafogo and Atlético MG, now we have to wait to see about Sudamericana

Don't forget guys: Cruzeiro vs Lanus -  Oct 30th
Corinthians vs Racing - Oct - 31st

The team can win in Argentina, I have no doubt, but it's very difficult to bet on the team hehehe, it's chaos

There's a possibility to have a brazilian final, Cruzeiro vs Corinthians, or even an Argentinian final Lanus vs Racing (I hope not hehehe)

I had made two other bets that ended up covering the loss, I even posted them here on the forum. But I didn't lose confidence in them until the day of the game. They showed that they can do it, they just need something to click. I hope they're thinking about it.

I bet on Corinthians but ended up losing. It was a good game to watch. I really believe they should play well at Racing's home ground. I don't see any reason for them to be unmotivated there. Everything is equal and it all depends on them.

Sorry for your loss Pumared  Sad
The team can win in Argentina, I have no doubt, but it's very difficult to bet on the team hehehe, it's chaos

Yesterday Corinthians played against Racing (Arg) and drew, 2x2
I still don't know how Corinthians managed to reach the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil and the semi-final of the Sudamericana

Unfortunately the team didn't manage to beat Racing in São Paulo and next week it's going to be VERY difficult to get a win there in Argentina, but in these situations Corinthians manages to get some unexplained victories

What do you think?

Could the final be Brazilian?

In recent years, we have seen more and more small teams competing head-to-head against big names like Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo, Flamengo, etc. Teams like Fortaleza and Botafogo have not been performing well (I can't remember the last time Botafogo won a title). I believe that the homogeneity of these teams will still prevail, Palmeiras is on its way to its third championship (if Botafogo gets careless again).

-
This could be Corinthians' chance to redeem itself with its fans if it at least reaches the final of the Sudamericanas and if it doesn't get relegated to Serie B, it will already be an achievement for the "gaviões da fiel".

I believe that Corinthians and Racing will be decided on penalties. Racing is better but Corinthians is meeting with its new signings. Until then they will have a lot to train and understand. But they must focus first on the Brazilian championship to avoid relegation.
It will be a big step for Corinthians if they win the Sudamericana title, in addition to guaranteeing a direct spot in next year's Libertadores. As for the Brasileirão, their only fight is not to be relegated this year, since the team's priority apparently is this championship.

I think the same thing, I believe that the focus is precisely on securing places next year. But the way they are playing they might even be able to get out of the relegation zone, but the other teams need to collaborate too, nobody wants to get relegated.

I don't doubt that qualification will be decided on penalties, after all it's the Corinthians way, always difficult and suffering, in the last moments, when nobody believes anymore hahaha
It´s a good bet to Corinthians classify on penalties

You can imagine the following situation: Corinthians in the final of the Sudamericana, even being champions, and being relegated in the Brazilian championship  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Maybe looks like a lie, but it could happen, there's a good chance of it

This is the semi finals:

To me, it will be good to see Corinthians and Cruzeiro in the final  Cool
It won't be easy for both brazilian teams, specially Corinthians. Racing is a tough opponent, and the bad thing for brazilians is, both matches will be decided in Argentina, so it's even harder

I think it's a good bet on Corinthians in the first match at least

What are your predictions in final?

I'm rooting for Cruzeiro, after all, this is the first time in 15 years that Cruzeiro has reached the semifinals of an international tournament, a great milestone for the club!

Corinthians, on the other hand, has managed to balance its last few games, but its opponent isn't to be underestimated, after all, Racing had a better campaign during the group stage. If Corinthians is smart, it cannot let its arrogance take over and let itself go.

Corinthians seem to be on the rise in recent games, and will probably come out on top in this game, as they still have a chance to win both the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa do Brasil. I also think Cruzeiro will beat Lanus, and we could possibly have a final with Brazilian teams. I would prefer a final with teams from different countries, as I believe the rivalry is much greater and the quality of the game is much better.

Athletico was crushed by Racing 4-1 in the first leg and, whatever happened, the strategy adopted by the club didn't work. It seems that the club wanted to simplify things but underestimated the Argentine club. The goal from the outside of the area by Argentine midfielder Almendra was one of the highlights of the match.

I was expecting Athletico to make it to the semis, with only Corinthians and Cruzeiro from the brazilian clubs advancing to the next round, now I'm rooting for Cruzeiro!

They simplified it so much that they forgot to train the defense and the goalkeeper. I don't know what strategy they used, but they should never try it again. I understand that Racing is strong, but nothing justifies this amount of goals.

I mentioned above what I thought of the game. But something I noticed is that Memphis seems like an average player. I could be wrong, but he didn't do much on the field. He only came on after Fortaleza was in its "varzea team" mode. I'm looking forward to seeing him play in a big game.

Hehe, let's see in a few games about the potential of Memphis
In my opinion, most of foreign players think that they will play like a boss in campeonato brasileiro but the reality is: brasileirao is the most competitive league, sometimes even small clubs are able to stop a bigger team

Right now Corinthias is already classified together with Lanus

Only waiting for Cruzeiro and Racing to confirm their classification
The semi finals will be very interesting

I agree, and since Fortaleza is gone, I will follow Corinthians. I thought Fortaleza would have a similar campaign as last time. But now I have to root for any Brazilian team. And I still want to see the all-powerful Memphis in the games, because I have yet to see him play when the game is not won.

Now the question is, will Corinthians remain the favorite until they win the title?

Just because they thrashed Fortaleza, you already think they're the favorite? Tongue
In fact, this is something that even Corinthians' biggest enemy can't help but say... Corinthians is doing very well in the championship and has a good chance of winning.

I believe that Athletico will be able to beat Racing and be a problem for Corinthians in the next match, but it's still too early to bet on that result... let's see what happens until then.
But, if I had to bet on a winner for this championship today, my bet would certainly be in favor of Corinthians.

Have you also seen the value of the prizes that Corinthians has already secured? US$900,000 in the group stage, US$600,000 in the round of 16, US$700,000 in the quarterfinals and US$800,000 in the semifinals. CONMEBOL also estimates that the champion of the competition will receive US$6 million in prize money and the runner-up US$2 million.

That's a good amount of money! I didn't know the prizes were so generous in this tournament. Maybe it happened like in the Copa do Brasil, where in the past the prizes were irrelevant, but in order to capture more engagement in recent years the organizer decided to give out super prizes as well. Football that is really well managed is a money-making machine. It's a shame that most club managers can't raise money properly, they only think about spending it:

It seems that Corinthians' recent signings are having an effect. In the game against Fortaleza, they managed to score 3 more goals, completely dominating the match, for a team that had already been playing poorly. Now the question is, will Corinthians remain the favorite until they win the title?

I found this bizarre, because if I had bet on this match, I'd definitely have bet on either Fortaleza winning or drawing with Corinthians.

As for the other brazilian clubs, I believe that Athletico-PR will advance to the semi-finals and Cruzeiro too. At least one of these teams, besides 'Timão', should advance to the next phase and maybe we will have a brazilian champion club this year.

At the beginning of the game, Fortaleza seemed like they would achieve something. But they should have done something in the first half. They didn't, I admit they tried. In the second half, after the first goal, it was all downhill. It seemed like they had never played before. The defense looked scared. It was distressing to watch.

Fortaleza really were unrecognizable in this match
The team has dropped a lot in the last 3 or 5 games, I don't know how it happened, but Corinthians was very lucky to get the win away from home and probably secure qualification (or at least make it easier for the game in SP).
Why do you think Fortaleza have got so much worse?

I don't think anyone would disagree with you on that!

Fortaleza was indeed unrecognizable in that game against Corinthians, even for a team that had already been playing poorly since the defeat against Botafogo. But even so, what a disappointment in that match... so many mistakes on the field, all the players "lost" in all areas of the field and the result could not have been different: the 2-0 defeat cost them their invincibility at Arena Castelão and also their honor, in addition to putting their qualification for the next phase of the South American Cup at risk. In my opinion, 2-0 was not enough.

I believe that this defeat will "wake up" Fortaleza, but not to the point of believing in a turnaround in the second game. Although I support Fortaleza, my bet will be in favor of the "timão" in the next match.

I think this is absurd too. Corinthians, which had already been playing poorly, practically dominated the match, not giving Fortaleza any breathing room to develop a strategy to overcome this situation and reach victory. Could Corinthians' recent signings have been the right decision for the team, although there are doubts about how much they cost the team?

It was a controlled game for Corinthians and after that Fortaleza was lost, it looked like a game in a suburb. Fortaleza's defense was nervous and couldn't play and keep possession of the ball. It will be a massacre at Corinthians' home ground.

Please don't stop. I still need to complain about Fortaleza. What a horrible game they had. For those who reached the final last year, they are terrible. I even thought it was a scam. I want to see how they will deal with this situation for the next game at Corinthians' home.

I've been noticing for a while that they've been playing badly at home. But they're doing well away from home, so at least that gives me a little hope for a comeback. But then I remember that it's at Corinthians' stadium and I accept that it's unlikely that they'll achieve anything.

I say unlikely because it's still Corinthians, who are fighting to avoid relegation.

...
I'm confident!

If you managed to bet on Athletico yesterday, congratulations, the team got a good win playing at home, quite important
It would have been better if they'd scored two goals to put their minds at ease for the game in Argentina, but the team has already done the basics, which is to win at home.
Now they have to hold on to the result in Argentina (not easy)
I believe that Athletico will qualify, especially since, as you said, the team is used to playing in the Sudamericana

I'm currently betting on a very favorable result for Athlético Paranaense.

They've already won this tournament in 2018 and 2021, so they already know what "the path" is to winning the third championship.

Unfortunately, they're not in their best moment, because despite reaching the quarterfinals, they've only won one of the last five matches they've played and the Uruguayan coach is already starting to feel the pressure from the board and the fans for better results.

They started well... winning with four victories in the group stage, but the defeats to Sportivo Ameliano and Danubio took them out of the lead. They got past Cerro Porteño, after drawing away from home and winning at home. They got two victories in the round of 16. Now... they need to show strength again to advance to the semifinals.

I'm confident!

Doesn't anyone watch the Copa Sudamericana anymore?
If no one answers, I'll stop posting in this thread  Wink

The Cup is currently in the quarter-finals and there are still 4 Brazilian teams left: Corinthians, Fortaleza, Cruzeiro and Athletico-PR

Yesterday Corinthians finally got some joy and managed to beat Fortaleza 2x0 and finally Yuri Alberto scored a goal that helped the team secure the victory
And I deserved to win another bet, after all the team had already made me lose a lot of money believing in them hehehehe  Cheesy Cheesy

Today's game is Lanus (Argentina) vs Independiente Medellín (Colombia)
Tomorrow there's Cruzeiro vs Libertad (Paraguay) and Racing (Argentina) vs Athletico-PR

After the first game and a good victory, Corinthians now will play the second game against Bragantino
Take a look at the odds:

I think Corinthians have great chances to win again without too much pressure, playing at home with total support of the fans
But incredibly (or not haha), in the last 5 games between the two teams, Corinthians have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 3
The statistics are not in Corinthians' favor

Well...
I looked for the history of these clashes here and discovered that Corinthinas hasn't beaten Bragantino since 2022, but Corinthians has an advantage in terms of overall history... they have already faced each other in 61 games, of which Corinthians has 25 wins and 21 draws and Bragantino only won 15 times.

Now, Corinthians will try to win this competition and win all the titles possible for a Brazilian club, since the South American trophy is the only one missing for them to be champions of everything, and complete their collection (just like the Internacional Tongue ).

But, to achieve this, Corinthians still needs to win a sequence of seven games and Bragantino is the first of these challenges.
In any case, I'm rooting and betting on Corinthians to win.

Congratulations @alegotardo, you've also won the bet  Cool
The odds were very good, 3.50 and finally Corinthians won an important match and I managed to recover some of the loss they've already given me in this season hahahah

With Talles Magno recently signed and now the arrival of Venezuelan player José Martinez, it seems that the club's management is trying to improve and it may be that now the team will get a good improvement, finally
Corinthians' next game will be on the August 20th, and they will be playing at home, with a good chance of qualifying

Glad that someone made up a thread for Sudamericana because this competition is way more entertained to watch than Libertadores because here anything can happen but on the same time , you must be very careful who you chose to bet on because some teams qualified this season for Sudamaericana...

I have to agree with you, the Sudamericana is a championship that is difficult to bet on, even more so than the Libertadores

Even though I have a good level of knowledge about South American teams, every year I'm surprised by a team I've never seen play before.
There are also certain matches that have a surprising result that can be a curse for bettors, (or great hehehe) for those who take a chance, because small teams sometimes achieve unbelievable results, because for these players, often the most important match of their lives will be against Sudamericana opponents, such as Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Corinthians for example

This South American Cup will be very good, and the thread will be very interesting, I really like how Corinthias and Internacional have done, for me they are the teams that I see the most that can shine as they are, I don't know about you but for me this cup is the I really enjoy it, in fact I watch it on FOX because I like how the Argentinians narrate, not even the Colombians who narrate the matches with so many emotoins, in this case I prefer to listen to the Argentinian because they have a fairly impartial position on the teams, I think there is a little more equity, even though the Argentine teams are very good. There is a little more equity, except that the Argentine teams are very good.

Anyway , I personally watched for 2 years this competition when it first arrived and I've always saw great football but also great fans who are way more vocal and passionate than Europeans.  Shocked

I'm creating this topic to comment on the CONMEBOL Sudamericana 2024 cup, the third round is already taking place and I'm especially keeping an eye on group C in support of Internacional who were champions of the competition in 2008.

I invite everyone to participate and follow this great dispute. Good luck to everyone!

As a "Colorado" fan, I am also following this group closely, but it s undeniable that everyone is also following Group D.

This is the so-called "death group". Because Boca Juniors is one of the favorites for the title, even after being left out of the Libertadores last season. Fortaleza is also highly regarded, as it was runner-up last year, and to complete the clash we also have Nacional Potosí and Sportivo Trinidense.

Anyway... the championship is just starting, I believe it will get even more interesting when we move on to the next phase.

To be honest, this team (Sportivo Trinidense) I have no idea who they are, Real Potosi I know from Libertadores and Fortaleza I haven't followed, well, from the way you said it, so it could be considered the "group of death ".

Fortaleza's performance so far is impressive, anyone who bet on them made good profits.

Well, since you both spoke highly of Fortaleza, I'll follow it a little more closely, who knows, maybe I can consider it when I'm placing some bets.

This information is very curious, to be honest, I just started following the championship and hadn't paid any attention to it. But from what I understand, only 1 team per group is classified, right? So in this case it remains very complicated for the "smaller" teams.

If anyone is interested, here are the full Sudamericana regulations, in Portuguese and Spanish
https://www.conmebol.com/pt-br/documentos-pt-br/manual-de-clubes-da-conmebol-sudamericana-2024/

The rules are a little different from the standard
Whoever finishes first is guaranteed a place in the Round of 16, but whoever finishes second in their group goes into a playoff, and that playoff will be the 8 teams from the Copa Sudamericana, plus 8 teams that finish third in the Libertadores groups
Whoever wins this playoff will go through to the Round of 16.

So there are plenty of chances for all the teams

Very good topic @tg88

One detail that I found very interesting in this edition of the Copa Sudamericana is that there is no so-called "group of death", during the draw for the brackets, all the good teams were evenly distributed across the groups.

For me, the favorites for the title are Internacional and Boca Juniors.

I'll be watching the Sudamericana again this year, as Corinthians failed to qualify for the Libertadores this year
But as I've already said, I'm going to bet against my team, since they've been losing all their matches

A very positive highlight is the Fortaleza team, who few people know outside Brazil and who won their first 3 games, beat Boca Juniors in their last game 4x2, and last year almost won the title, only to lose the final on penalties to LDU from Ecuador
It's a good team to bet on
