The value of the copper membership is not fixed but if you want to buy it has the same benefits. If you want to hold your funds and earn a few merits just to reach out toe member rank because they have the same features too.

There are a lot of merits give away right there but they have different rules before you earn it.

If you are just a common member would like to have this badge and don't have any aim it doesn't necessary but if you are promoting like making a campaign I think you need this too.

I can see that, you really need a copper membership to be able to promote a signature campaign. It's all fine and good. But do bear this in mind that, only few projects accept junior members or copper membership to join their campaign. Majority of bounty projects wants highly ranked members to join their signature bounty campaign.

Bitcoin is peg with fiat currency for if not then we will not buy for it or exchange fiat currency to bitcoin. This make the value of bitcoin however unique because it can be vary depending on the market of bitcoin. This is what really happen when OP wanted to buy copper membership through bitcoin. Buying copper membership is really worth it because the features that can let you do with copper membership can be the same as with member in rank where one can post image and can wear signatures with high numbers of characters compared to jr. members.

It is not counted as dollars. It is treated as btc. If the price of btc is high.  Then the amount of dollars increases. You can see how much btc you have to pay for buy copper. Follow the screenshots below.

Technically, it is still evaluated in dollars because of the value of BTC. 0.002 BTC could mean $22 today, but $10 tomorrow. So to further understand the value, monetary value is still accepted.

After all, someone's gotta buy BTC in fiat.

If you have the need to promote stuffs or services more professionally (judging by your earlier post), go ahead. Because it takes 1 Merit for you to rank up to Junior Member which then allows image posting. Wouldn't take that long if you stick around and participate in discussions.

Otherwise, it's not worth the money.

It's around that much yeah. But technically speaking, copper membership is really really low because to post images you have to gain merits and get yourself established. But when you get a copper membership, you just pay some amount and directly you have the ability to post whatever a person with member rank can! It's a good thing.

From what you're trying to do here in the forum, I've visited your recent posts and saw you're offering services, it is best if you have a copper membership so people will actually trust you.
Just because someone has about a copper membership doesn't mean they should be trusted. There's nothing special about it except bypassing the newbie restrictions. Been bursting scammers and a number of them are actually copper members.

However, if $24 does not sounds good to you, you can gain merits  to rank up, up to member so you can have better benefits than being just a newbie.
Jr Member Rank should be good enough for OP to be able to the images in his ANNs. All he need is to be an active poster for about a month and a few days plus just 1 merit which he can't fail to get if he's a good poster.

I'm generally just here to offer my team services and I'm not sure yet, but I am thinking of purchasing the copper membership. I see that this will be benificial since I can't post images with my current rank. It's also frustrating to have to wait to be able to post or respond to a message here. I'll just see first if I can get customers here then I'll buy it.

Purchase it. Your thread will look a lot better and professional with images. ;-)

It doesn't have fixed usd amount, I bet that's way cheaper than before. Check this thread The cost of Copper Membership will raise considerably

But it supposed to have a specific amount so that people will have it in mind and when such amount is in their bitcoin wallet or normal paper money bank account, whoever interested can move forward to purchase it without enquiry or investigation or been double minded before purchasing it.

The benefits you are getting through copper membership are-
1. Linkable signature- Needs at least 57 days to obtain manually by ranking up.
2. Signature- Need at least 29 days to obtain.
3. And less restriction is posting gap, PM etc.
Therefore, it's saving you a lot of days. I guess the fee is quite reasonable.
If you're coming here to promote a project, buying a copper membership makes sense if for no other reason than to overcome the posting restriction.

Does buying a copper membership allow you to join a signature campaign quicker?  I get that campaigns generally don't accept Newbies and that a new member needs that one merit to rank up to Jr. Member, but if it doesn't give you that advantage at least I don't see why anyone would want to shell out $24 just for the benefits you listed above.  But hey, to each his own.

I think he is here not for signature campaigns. He is on this forum to offer his services. You can find more details on below link.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5282547

I have quoted his post so that his images are displayed but i think he should buy copper membership.

You should not recognize users with copper membership as trusted member or identification that some specic user is trusted enough to do a deal, it doesn't work like that. It just barely used to post images for newbies or jr member, other restrictions for newbies, reduced signature styling and PM restrictions.

He may want to share images and write posts without any time restrictions, so it helps a lot than being a newbie and wait for a few minutes before posting back again.
Waiting 360 seconds between posts is a minor inconvenience, except the user plans to spam the forum with low value or plagiarized contents. I hardly make successive posts with shorter time frames than that, and the time limit was probably put so new members do more of reading than writing.

I am not pointing that they can't spam after buying copper membership. But let's take those members as an example who like to share charts and some informative images which may also contain content of a competition if they are going to organize one. These type of members make their images speak more than their words, so where is spam there? And about signature campaign acceptance, if copper members are going to get accepted in these campaigns then it will not just promote spam but the number of new accounts will get proliferated just to make their newly made accounts accepted based on their 'copper' membership which will be bad for forum and everyone who contributed till date and earned their membership.

I thought the amount was regulated to keep it within a particular range, taking changes in Bitcoin price into consideration. I do not know how frequently it is done or of it actually is done at all, but I believe I have come across that at some point.

Does buying a copper membership allow you to join a signature campaign quicker?
Most of the bounty campaigns allow them and count copper membership as the equivalent of member rank I guess. Haven't visited the bounty section for a while now but IIRC, I saw some bounties do that back in the days.
There's posting gap limitations with newbie rank, PM restrictions with newbie rank. Some people are joining here to trade things and they can take the opportunity.

I do not think that copper members will be allowed in campaigns just because they paid $22. Otherwise, we will see a lot of spam there based on this. Even if you have seen some copper members getting accepted in the programs , it might be because they also had the required number of quality posts or merits to get accepted in that particular signature campaign.

As copper membership gives almost all features to its owner, promoting a project by posting its Ann is not the only thing to be seen as the purpose of buying it. Yes , it costs around 24 USD at the moment based on the current bitcoin price. You have to pay in bitcoins so it will vary the price in USD.

Are you here to represent any project etc and need to post images in the forum. If not, then there is no need to buy copper membership and you can rank up to member rank easily if you are regularly post on this forum.

<...>

No, it costs 0.00219957 BTC (which according to Mornigstar, now requires 24,91 USD to purchase if need be).

See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Depending on where you’re from, it can be pocket money, or a respectable amount, so you need to determine whether you need the Copper Membership’s benefits fast, or if you can do with building-up your account at a slower pace to obtain those benefits.
