how did dif 19 even happen so quickly? has this coin been out for a long time?

It's a different hashing algorithm than other coins, so you can't directly compare difficulty-values.

This might be a stupid question, but can i mine copperlark with cgminer and gpu's?  I wasn't sure about the SHA3.

Right now you can Mine through your Copperlark client (very easy and simple)

If you read through the forum, mining began around 21st May. I'm quite amazed that this coin wasn't mentioned here earlier, secretive russians. There's even a thread in the russian section of this forum...
