BITDEPOSITARY - Make ICO's , More Secure
This was the same problem my friend encountered, he didn't noticed that the address he pasted changes thus all his fund that supposedly been there were all lost though he conclude it to be a virus he only have a vague idea on where he caught it and just resorted to formatting his pc and updating his security systems. The best thing to do maybe is to double check the addresses we send and the links we click throughout the web.

for checking adress i am see for first 2 and last 2 characters

This is also the way I am checking my address. Maybe some are in an hurry so they forgot to check their btc address. Is there a possibility that the first 2 - 3 letters and 2 - 3 letters are the same while in the middle it changed? Have you experience that?
I think is not reallizable, because your edited btc adres must owned by malware author, if malware change only few characters your money going to nowhere

thank you for giving us this news i will send this to all my friend to know this virus Sad hope this will no longer exist. i so scared with this virus because are account will be ban if they detect a copy paste in some post.

lol i think the virus that op is talking about is only copying and pasting bitcoin addreses and not totally everything that you do . i guess it was a malware that primary objective  is to steal coins from other users in the form of copy and pasting different bitcoin addreses. the only way to avoid it is to be aware and always double check after you copy and pasted your bitcoin address. another tip is make sure you only download files that is from a known or trusted source and always scan the files before installing to check whether it is infected by the virus or not.

Well for most cases if you involve yourself to cryptos you must also know basic language of computers. i've read several accounts got hacked on the surface because of that, never click any suspicious links on any sites also when receiving emails with attachments something like that.

To be honest, these kinds of scripts are considered pretty script kiddie levels and they have existed ever since bitcoin first started. If you do not click on any of the pretty obvious "free btc for doing A or installing B" sites and you are not greedy and do not visit weird sites, you should be pretty safe.
Really? Those scripts are still in "kiddie" level? Amazing Shocked

So that virus can be acquired usually through entering untrusted sites, now I know! and I feel relieved because I'm not that kind of person who easily enter to those such kind of sites. I'm not too dumb to believe in " earn free bitcoins, click here" statements.

I think from now on I will double check the address carefully every time I will send coins to someone because honestly, I always skip checking the address of my receivers before, I only look at the last letter/number and if it matches from what I copied then that's it.
It is a kiddie level. The script is pretty easy to make, even there is an open source program about that in the Github. I believe having a habit to check some text of the address is a good thing to make sure you send the right address. It may seem tedious but I'm sure it will save you in the future.

I affected with this Virus also. I tried to remove it in many ways but No antivirus did work. At last, I have successfully removed it by "MS Security essential". If you install this, It will automatically remove the virus. Thank you!

Since bitcoin provides a strong security to assured that your investment is free from hackers. They have coordination with the government to monitor this issue and be aware of it.
It is better aside from them itis your duty also to be careful in every actions that you will made.

I think that the best would be to have a computer or laptop dedicated to money/cryptos transactions.
You dont have to buy a new one, even a Raspberry Pi would be perfect
(I use one RPi2 running Raspbian, it's slower than a PC but for a couple transactions a day/week its ok).
Be carefull when running unknown or copied programs in the computer and trust nobody.

The Experience Layer of the Decentralized Internet
Thank you, although I don't know what the principle is, I will carefully watch it again after copying the sticky paste. After all, it is my own bitcoin.

some steps to stay safe from virus
1. Use a firewall

2. Scan for malware

3. Stay up-to-date : enable automatic updates in both Windows and applications.

4 Make sure your web email access – or, for that matter, any sensitive website access – is only via secure (https) connections, or that your regular mail program is configured to use only encrypted connections.

5 never install Softaware before check on virustotal.com

A friend of mine downloaded this virus from here

http://bitcoinstealer.blogspot.co.uk/

The builder.exe is the virus and not a virus builder

now I have tried loads of things to help him ..... iv run every anti virus .... every anti malware and spyware ..... nothing .....

the virus is very hard to find .....

I download it via the link above ..... tried to decomplie the builder.exe .... which is the virus .... but I stil;l cant work out where the dam thing is hiding.

anyone got a better decomplier than me ? fancy having a look and seeing where the dam thing is hiding on my friends system.

I wrote a macro so when my friend pushes F7 key it pastes his BTC address on screen ( crappy way to bypass the virus)

but I still want to find it and get rid of it for him

thanks for reading ....

**EDIT**

if your going crazy like my friend and cant get the virus off your system .... when you copy a BTC address dont copy the 1 at the start

type the 1 where you where going to paste then unload your clip ... and yay ! you copied a BTC address . . . .

lol
