since almost all the threads are discussing this question, which of the two options would you prefer ?

ok, this is not representative, but it may give us an idea where this forum is leaning to.

feel free to discuss, but please keep it friendly.

edit: not self moderated... Roll Eyes

OP, dont you think we have enough polls on these?

The above threads have the most number of votes. This section is pathetic to collect any meaningful poll

You should make a poll of "support BIP101 or no" Simple as that and the result would tell us more.

i agree. since the polls you are quoting were "hidden" in threads that were not titled with the poll question i overlooked them. in addition, i wanted to ask the speculation subforum, but the poll was moved as being off topic.

I support bitcoin core with bigger block size. bitcoin XT i will say  no !!!!! go to hell XT!!

No problem. Implement BIP101 into core. It will be counted as well to the 75% needed.

Let the dust settle, emotions calm and then we go from there. basically everybody wants an increase. The question is "how much increase to start with, when to start, and how much to increase yearly".

Bitcoin Core has already built its fundamentals. It's the start of it all and is the strongest survivor. I'd choose Bitcoin Core anyday

I support only Bitcoin Core.  If any changes or implementations needed, they must be done to Bitcoin Core only!

Well, who is in charge of core?

Blockstream

This, pretty much. I don't understand how people can be comfortable that a private company is actually running the show.

No one, it's a dev collaboration just like the Bitcoin network. That's what some people don't like. They want someone in control...but with that you also get things like address and IP blacklisting. I don't know about you, but I don't want any one person in control of my bitcoins.

so, these are the devs on core https://bitcoin.org/en/development

From what I've heard, Wladimir J. van der Laan won't talk to XT devs.

I'm a neutral observer, I don't care whether XT wins or Core "wins" because I think Bitcoin's evolution is going to be ultimately formed by its contact with fixed natural boundaries and self-limiting pressures, and will end up looking the same one way or the other.

XT offcourse. Core is missing a leader lol
Hmmm as XT is having a leader and it opposes the idea behind decentralized Bitcoin, as if majority chooses Bitcoin XT then it will fall into hands of a few people and God knows what they will do to Bitcoin.

BTW for a soft fork to become a hard fork the 95%adaption was required previously and why this time only 75%is the minimum requirement for XT to become hard fork Huh

this FUCKING STUPID  this war wht for choose

only you lost your money usd in bitcoin

if choose XT we have future for increase value BITCOIN

wht part this childs dont understand!

This is a false assumption fueled by panic.
You can't allow for more cheap transactions, blacklisting of addresses, and then say your currency is going to be of more value.

As for the 1mb limit, let the limit be touched more often than once in a blue moon and the limit will likely be raised in Core, just as other fixes have been implemented as they have popped up. Devs handle problems when they arrise, not when people get wormy.

Personally I think the whole "reindex for 3 days every time you lose power" problem is much more pressing than the 1mb limit.

I prefer core with bigger block size depending on the future adoption growth (2mb onward is enough for the next 3-5 years, I think). I want XT's concept, but I don't like how they introduce it to the masses.

Why not implement a dynamic block size like Monero for example, which is calculated from x previous blocks Huh

And a minimum fee to prevend spam attacks and dust transactions.

With adaptive blocksize we could always achive a high block fillrate and give an incentive to pay a transaction fee, if the adaptive timeframe would be 1 day for example (calculated form a moving average over the last 144 blocks). This would always make the blockchain space scarce for a given timeframe. If you want a fast transaction, you have to pay a higher fee.

IMO this is a very good soultion, to establish a fee system and allow more tps when the network grows with time.

What do you think ?

There are at least two additional choices:
i) Both XT and Core in different datadirs
ii) I prefer fiat currency
