When I saw this explanation that’s when I knew that this is a stupid project and a scam, although they claimed that it wasn’t such, but was created for a good purpose lol, all I can see is people taking advantage of the current situation and using it to make money and that’s what has happened now.

So people really invested in that shit project, seriously it was scam from all indications and I wondered what those who invested was expecting. Many of these projects have been coming up and the community have tried their best to educate people about the fraudulent nature of those projects. On a more serious note it just proved that there many investors who are still moved by what they see even though it aren't backed by any concrete idea. I hope this will teach others a lesson to always be at alert and always know scammers will take advantage of any opportunity they see.

This is perhaps the third time i will read about corona coin exit scamming, is it that there are plenty corona tokens ? or is it the single one reported?

What happen is very much expected investors have been warned, if they are not good at selling at the right time they should not invest or ignore this kind of project, it's only weeks ago when we see a lot of warning about this kind of projects, always remember scammers will always look for opportunity to scam people and take any situation as a good time to scam investors.
From the start, I also doubted that those who did projects like this used the circumstances to do ico fraud.

If it's his own coins, he should be able to dump them whenever he wants. If there was no team lockup enforced, then they're going to be free to dump their tokens if they choose.

Simple way around this in future, if the people with withdrawal access over a smart contract is anonymous and unreputed, don't send them any damn money.

This is true. These people dont deserved any sentiment of being a crypto guru. They are not added any good news on this case. Why do you think they can still scam few bucks from the community? Im guessing its also fault of our friends who dont recognize these kind of scamming way before. Also for God's sake its about corona the virus that killed many people on different countries. Knowing that potential risk for this is 99% is a necessary attitude already.
of course it's a scam. just by looking at the type and name of the coin we can already guess that the coin will only remain alive as long as this corona virus exists. and the biggest possibility is a program that exploits this worrying situation to get rich quickly. because they believe by giving the name of the coin according to the current situation, certainly many investors will be interested because they think this coin will help overcome the current corona virus.

In order for something to be an exit scam you need to first have a good project or at least a good looking project that everyone thought might be something decent and what not, but then turns out something bad after all.
