I suppose there are no sports left to gamble on except these so-called 'e-sports'.

This topic is very interesting. The big question is, how can we have any sports gambling without any live sports? Now this is not something that can be done with the past matches, or the tournaments that may happen in the future. For sports gambling, you need real-time sports events. And perhaps the only event that is ongoing right now is the Belarusian Premier League.

There is chance for some sport events to be held at the end of the year, some are only postponed with hope that things will slowly get back to normal
However, for majority of sports this year is lost, as well as for sport gambling so the choice is very poor at the moment. Personaly I'm not interested in gambling in past events, that mskes no sense.
I agree with you too. I think this moment is very important for us. The world economy is currently in recession, how logical are gamblers at this time?

I guess this would also be the perfect time for the sports betting to have at least a break. Though there were rumors about the NBA is coming back soon, which I also wonder does America disregard the danger of the virus?
I have seen many Americans rallying about their freedom asking the government to lift the community lockdown, does that mean they are going to resume the sporting events in the country as well?
We'll just hope the pandemic will end asap. I've really missed the NBA playoffs.

All sports gambling herein our country are put on hold until this pandemic is over, they are going to lose a lot of revenues, this is understandable but this pandemic is the first thing that everybody should address and not the loss of any company, it's not only the loss of revenues we are talking about but the loss of lives too.

I personally starting to feel like not that big of a deal anymore, I mean think about it we are so addicted to regular sports that we forgot how beatiful esports could be. I know you are used to watching physical sports where people are not only talented but also very fit as well, however as a gamer myself who never really looked at esports before, I realized I really enjoy esports as well, never looked at it like this before but this pandemic and league cancellations made me watch it by force because there was nothing else to watch, and I always assumed there was just cs:go and lol and dota etc etc games for esports but thanks to this I realized there is much much more to go around and I have seen esports tournaments of the games I really love playing myself, so watchin these amazing players who are x100 times better than me play and win something really is enjoyable.

I don't know if I will get back to regular sports after this, esports does turned me into even a higher level of geek. I think maybe NBA only and not anything else for now before I probably get sick of esports as well.

Before this Pandemic, I'm more into Esports and the only live sports I watch is NBA. but during this lockdown, many people missed the regular sports and start sharing awesome highlight videos and now I just watched tons of baseball, swimming, football and soccer games which I don't really watched before. I think you will probably get sick of esports too.

Regular sports are full of real emotions, we are actually seeing real athletic people. I'm impressed with how they achieved those greatness. I'm impressed with esports players too, but damn, I'm starting to miss those superhuman athletes.

@Vishnu.Reang gamblers these days are turning their attention to different sports, and I had made a thread out here highlighting how gamblers are now gambling on marbles and trotting. @bitbunnny there’re various reports which say that many football leagues will resume in May, but it’ll be without fans and though this is welcome news for gamblers as a football fan it’ll irritating to watch them play in empty stands.

I guess it will eventually be over, I know sportsbooks have costs as well and their only downs are not when people end up winning, all the staffs and servers and offices and many other things do exists even if they put all the games on hold, which means they have to make some sort of profits to cover all of those, however this is temporary so if they have a bit of money saved up somewhere that means they can wait out the storm, offer people like esports stuff for now and just hope that games will be back soon enough to cover all expenses and debts they acquired during this period. Hell even taking out a loan to pay the costs these days makes sense considering when this is all over people will be back eventually.

Many places also find non-sportsbook games like dice a great source of income as well.

What is evident is that we are living war and that our enemy is Covid19. We must follow the protocol to stay safe and take care of others. There are many things we can do online as well as learn new skills. We will return to Sports Gambling soon when it is the best time.

Yes, this is a big challenge for us, the world is constantly battling coronavirus. Since the world has not yet discovered a vaccine to fight the war, we have to deal with the situation at home. So our opportunity to learn online sports at home has been created. We can use these suggestions.

It is not just that. Some doctors say players who went through corona will never be the same as a player.
Will never be the same as a player? Are you saying that the players ability will be affected by this corona virus that is why they will never be the same player? How it will happen ? They can get their healthy body back if they just make their immune system strong so that it can fight against the disease. After that, they are the same person, but a healthier one.

Coronavirus is a new strain of pneumonia. If you get sick with it without complications (which happens to most people who get sick), there will be no harm to your health in the future!
That's why I'm sure that the players will be all right!
This is not true with every individual. Different body conditions have difference in the health level. It is not proven that the people who have got affected of the virus get to be healthy further. If that's the case now in China there are cases of COVID-19 that previously attacked, got cured and now once again affected the same person.
@romero121 is right. We have different immune in our body, and when the virus attack to our body, every people will not have the same reaction. Some people, especially young people, will not feel anything because they have a strong immune, but some other young people will have a bad reaction. They can feel sick, cough, fever, or anything else because they don't have better immune. Sometimes, the carrying of the virus will not feel anything, but the people around them will get sick.
I only said that if a man is cured of coronavirus, he should be all right in the future! It's not AIDS or hepatitis!
I had pneumonia, yes - it's a serious disease, but I'm fine!
Especially if we are talking about professional athletes who sometimes break bones, tear ligaments and tendons! Wink

For gamblers who depend solely on sport gambling, I guess this is the right time to take that "long" break from gambling.

It won't be a good idea shifting to online casino games if they are lockdown. This is when addiction will be at it peak especially for players who are not familiar with casino games.

I don't think that someone who likes to gamble on sports can be addicted to online games.
They are so different and the whole gambling strategy is totally different.
Online casinos are a good alternative to the pause of sports for gamblers.

Any kind of games could be addictive, but then it depends on how the gamblers control it self.
Right now, sports betting are quite limited due to limited games also, and if gamblers choose to try other games and he likes the game, there's still a chanc that he will be addicted if he is not discipline enough,.. all of us a newbie in every game we play until we like it, so even if you are a sports bettor, you can try other games as well.

the impact of corona virus to sports gambling is huge, both in positive and negative way,
lets go on the negative all the casino close since people can't have contact with each other they might get infected with people all over the area
on the other hand the positive one gamblers are then stop from going to casino instead they spend more time with their families,
online casino where players go they are safe at home, although this has good impact in my opinion with regards to gambling
i hope we overcome this pandemic since it stop us from working.

House gambling,  Smiley, me and my friends and families are playing poker, just to pass some time because we are already in a lock-down, curfews are implemented here. But the money involved is not that huge, it's only friendly games, instead of doing nothing.

But yes, the only options for us is go online, dice, slots etc.

That maybe a bad example for children after all gambling can cause someone to lose all their money. Atleast, for my perspective i dont want to teach encourage my family to gamble to earn money and become greedy.

I want them to look gambling as a fun way to relax and relieve some stress, instead of money you could do some penalty like UNO card games.
