If the government of a country grabs power for its own needs and only thinks about its own words, that country will never be able to develop.  Africa is a country full of natural resources but the politics of this country is full of corruption.Because of corruption they are not able to advance and their life condition is so dangerous. If their entire system can be made free of corruption, maybe this country can breathe a sigh of relief. It is wrong to expect progress or safety of the common people in countries where the entire system is corrupt.

OP, I commend you for this writeup, it is an essential piece of writing that tends to expose the activities of African leaders, African leaders are intoxicated by power which in turn destroys them, how would a man occupying a public office that's supposed to be held accountable by the people decide to loot the fund that's left in his custody to manage, it is too bad of leaders, when African leaders are sick they go to different hospitals in Europe, Asia and America for medical treatment leaving their people to die, a continent that's is blessed is lavishing in serious poverty because of the attitude of the leaders, God should come to the rescue of African citizens.

Africa is blessed with natural resources. But are under the mis-management by there corrupt leaders who claims to be democratic. but their for personal benefits. let's look at president Ali Bongo and family, which was said to have been in power for over 53years. but was taken over by military, as a case study.
should Africans agree for military takeover of all the Africa nations for proper restoration of African glory. or they should remean in corrupt democratic government .
what are your say on this......

Military rule may be the greatest way to rule in some parts of Africa where civilian rule is extremely risky due to love and money lust. When compared to other continents that completely practise democracy, you will prefer democracy to military dictatorship. However, African nations bad leadership makes it easier for these African countries to launch coups and take over the ill-government from the population. Taking up power is impossible without the support of all citizens and militaries suffering the repercussions of the terrible governance. It is apparent that a country that does not launch protests even after a military coup are tired of the civilian government and would prefer the military rule if that will make life better for them there.

Secondly in the military rule you dare not insult the leader if you do that you will get killed unlike the democracy rule today people talk to the government anyhow with abusive words.
Also the democracy allows citizens to make there choice, right to vote and be voted for

Election truly is suppose to be an opportunity to change a non performing government and political party but unfortunately it doesn't happen as the tenets of democracy that bring in new democratically elected government. Election in many countries is not free and fair and that is the debacle of many countries that they have continued to have bad government in place and that instigates coup against the corrupt government. In Niger and other troubled west African countries, this has been the ugly head that has disturbed the continent.

Going back to the military rule will no change anything rather it will make things get worst.
The military rule at that time was very wild and corrupt, people no longer have the freedom of speech, fear of if they speak they will get killed during the military rule. Africa's issues with corrupt leaders can be attributed to many things. Historical legacies such as colonialism & weak governance structures play a big role.
Yes indeed the points that you point out are all the root causes of of corruption and one of the major factors that that corrupt leader have manipulated for a long is the area of institutions,  no doubt weak institutions have become the major problem and foundations of corruption in Africa because the leaders already know how week and incomplete our laws are and this same laws is what the institutions are established on so it becomes a free tool in the hand of the politicians to manipulate and bend the law to whichever way he thinks fit into has corrupt desires.

A practical example of the level of weak institutions in Africa is in the electoral process where the electoral officials are appointed by the politicians instead of being career civil servants with such a system in place there can never be a free and fair election in such a state.

Africa's issues with corrupt leaders can be attributed to many things. Historical legacies such as colonialism & weak governance structures play a big role. Poverty, lack of accountability & limited access to education & resources can contribute to the problem. To help combat this a multifaceted approach is necessary. Strengthening democratic institutions, promoting transparency & accountability, investing in education & healthcare & fostering economic development can all help tackle corruption. Empowering citizens to participate in decision’making processes & supporting grassroots initiatives are also vital steps towards a more transparent & accountable leadership in Africa.

Military take over is not an option either. In a country a which is 'working', the common man should have a say. Military take over will only breed more tyrants, dictators and worse still cause mass political apathy. International trade and borrowing will be affected too. Which country will want to lend funds to a politically and economically unstable country?

It is quite unfortunate that we Africans are richly blessed with natural resources yet are suffering in the midst of plenty due to negligence and selfish interests from our political leaders.  At this point, what we need is mass participation in politics. Public opinion should be taken seriously and the military cannot give us this.
Let us continue to lend our voices for the growth of our country, one day, we shall get what we seek.

When you are made fool of in the first time, you are not seemed of full because it was out of trust but when you seizes to realize that you are continuesly being made fool of then you are definitely one of a fool.

Africa give up herself to the West after being convinced to for a better and prosperous impactment and guidance  towards it's governing system and they were supposed to let them just be after it all but they have come to stay as the decision markers from afar yet in the Africans societies while they paves their percentages on the Africans resources time after time yet the African so called leaders plays adamants towards the rebellions all because there is an agreement of loots and have us an agreed percentage and we would cover you up from your people who wants to rise against your government.
This is why our politicians stand's a strong hold with a conscienceless governance but who is fooling who?
What is meant to be for you and your people is being around you and strangers tamount to be traitors yet the African leaders dances to the tones of the Westerners.

Westerners is the utmost problematic of the great African because they foresee what they could be of in a nearest if only they could be let go to posses their possessions. I call this the fear of the Westerners of what African can do to topple the globe.

However, the things that has falling apart on this scenario would had been fixed if only the judiciary is active snd reliable of it's laws and constitution but yet they are all messed with the interest of biased justice for the interest of politics and to defend the percentage interests of the Westerners else there would be a better governance in Africa.
Africa is a central for justice of connection and justice of corruptions yet they do not want to realize itself.

Africa is a pool of daylight robbery and justice riggings backed up by the judiciary who imposes laws and still breaks it's laws because they have classes of citizens and foreigners above the laws. What a mess? 😏

So I would suggest to give the military a try since the democracies has failed else the situation would either remain stagnant or backwarded because when you make profits out of your BTC investment without enhancing your to establish more of your capitals in other to earn more profits is as an Investor of an idle where there is no increments.

What these countries lack is a system. They don't practice democracy. They just say they do.
Military rule won't solve anything. Some might say it would make it worse but I doubt that, it would just be the same old story.
What these countries need is a system.
One person can't hold all the power. There should be ways to make Democracy powerful the way it is in developed countries. A country with a poor political system would always have a poor economic system thereby making every other sector in the country poor.

People are allowed to do whatever they want in these countries if they have the power, but it should be so. A lack of a system makes it very easy for people to abuse their powers and this goes on at all levels of government. The police and other security agencies abuse their power, and the judiciary, legislature, and executive all abuse their powers.
When a system is in place these people would be checked and they can't get away with these things.

The system you are talking about for those African countries is called "separation of power". The United States is a good example of how separation of power works, back during the first presidency of Trump he got several of his executive orders blocked by federal judges, and when he wanted to overturn the election results in Georgia they tried to pressure the Secretary of State (the only one with the direct power to recall those results).

That is a system where one single person cannot do whatever they desire with their position. However, separation of power can become ineffective if many of those officials which are supposed to be neutral and only obey the constitution fail to their oath and obey lawless orders from a central authority.

There can be only one solution for this and that's to look carefully at how the arab nations managed to make their countries rich at the same time they are not corrupt and the results of their work are clear. As we can see right now, they are making some huge advancements in terms of their economics and technologies, due to the fact they were using their resources intelligently without corruption all these years.
Even at that we can't still say that Saudi Arabia is 100% corruption free,  but what make a bigger difference is the institutions and system in the Saudi region and as a country that have hard tough startup that depend solely on the GIR and the resource to found they economic it become clear that the must act accordingly to be able to stay ahaed in the emerging global market.

But same can not be said of Africa, the institutions are weak and the system is programmed in such a way that it only favours the leaders and political officials who are part of the bigger gang that has hijacked the commonwealth of the people.

Whether military rule is the best or not is not the case. I believe every country had it's peculiarities in terms of the events that led to the ousting of the erstwhile democratic governments. Like in the case of Niger, what led to the military takeover wss driving by three factors.

Firstly, even though Niger has several foreign (USA, France) military forces and bases situated in the country, yet Niger is faced with the invasion of insurgent groups such as the Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, etc which has resulted to thousands of deaths and displaced homes which has been seemingly neglected by the government.

Secondly, the ECOWAS, like in most west African countries, haven't made as much efforts as it should as a body in terms of intervention programmes yet they go about bossing to restore Bazoum.

Lastly, which is the least of all is that the former president Bazoum had an identity crisis in the last election where he was labeled to have foreign interests above the national interest due to his Arab origin.

When you compared that to what happened to Ali Bongo of Gabon, it's quite a different scenario, in Gabon, it was more of electoral malpractices and imposition. They president was widely rejected by the citizens yet had it's way through to win at the polls. That brought about several agitations that led to the coup. Also realize that the economic downturn in the country amidst the natural endowment in the small country has led it to several outcries. And the list goes on.

It's just a case of the world power tussle between the UN Permanent Security Council Members.

Military rule is not the end of anything because the awareness of the citizens is the most important to have a permanent rule because if the citizens want any kind of mismanagement in the country can be removed quickly yes I agree with him The family has been in power for 53 years, but we have to find out how it is. In fact, the rulers of African countries are practicing corruption because they see nothing in the state except their family. There are many reasons for this because Africa is rich in natural resources and this has attracted many toxic states as the western world states try to control them Incentives, special management for better livelihoods, and more, African states are practicing corruption.I personally think that the main reason why African leaders practice corruption is the ignorance of the citizens of that country and the fact that this system has been created artificially for some countries in the western world. It was not built in a day, it took centuries of different foreign policies to language them and take advantage of their weaknesses because most African states are admittedly poor Accepting poverty and taking advantage of this, some countries in the developed world. We all know that in 1989 the World Bank conducted a study there and found that there was a lack of good governance for their condition, so they made some recommendations and if they were to get a loan from the World Bank The democracy of the country must be protected and independence must be given to every structure of the state and the military regime must be strengthened but not as the head of the military but as an organ of the state to run the state There is no need for military success, but as a part of the state, it is possible to leave the military in the hands of the military and do infrastructural development etc. slowly and quickly.First of all citizens should be made aware to participate in the work of the state and perform their duties and the state leaders should be made to perform their duties in a democratic way.Only if we take action against how to create qualified leaders, corruption practices can be stopped and corrupt churches will be reduced in the days to come.

The best and most durable infrastructural projects in my country were executed by the military regime. The military has been better Administrators than these so-called democratically elected thieves. The military has managed the economy of my country better than most of these politicians. The debt my country owes to some international banks and organizations went very high during the civilian government because the military were better managers. Today our country is suffering from terrorist attacks because civilian politicians are treating them with kid's gloves. But the military would have dealt with them squarely.

The military was created for the protection of the citizens and not for governance. During their reign, there was always an abuse of citizen's fundamental human rights. But when we suffer the same fate during democratically elected government tenure, it will be better to be under the military.

When elections are rigged to favor an unpopular candidate, it will be better to have a coup. When civilian governments have formed partnerships within and outside the country to steal our commonwealth and push us to abject poverty, it will be far better to be under the military.

When the courts and the Constitution have been pocketed and stamped upon by these politicians, it will be better to be ruled through decree and orders. Where the national assembly is a mere rubber stamp of the President and governors, it will be better for powers to be centralized.

Africans are really hurt when it comes to their countries' development because when they see the other countries that were in the same category as them 60 years ago that now become one of the richest countries in the world like the Arab countries. They could have become like that if they chose a just leader that has no interest in becoming rich but they jeopardized every election and now they are suffering with it. who knows when they will change their traditional way of choosing their leaders in order to get out from their cursed corrupted leaders?

I heard that Africa is a golden continent, but there are still many countries there that have chaotic politics. If we go back, we will all see how apartheid politics spread and civil wars happened. This all shows that the system of government in some countries on the African continent has failed, I imagine how great the potential of the countries on the African continent is when it is managed properly, it will definitely beat other continents because of the wealth of natural mineral resources there, there is no need to doubt it anymore.

I think that relying on the military to solve problems isn't the best strategy. They need governments that truly come from the people's choice. Governments that are fair and not tangled up in corruption or favoritism. They shouldn't be using the military to kick out leaders who were elected by the people. Instead, African leaders should team up and encourage democracy and good, honest leadership across the continent.

You have stated the ideal situation but the ideal is not being actualized in the African setting. All the democratic government that has been overthrown by the military have been accused of one corruption or the other. Corruption is the umbrella covering every other activities that doesn't allow the masses enjoy the natural gifts in African soil. Military intervention is not always better but the African leaders set such incident up by themselves because they are never fair to the people they are leading. I hope these countries that are now led by military would set a good pace for true democracy when they conduct and hand over power to the next democratic government.

I'm not from there but a friend of mine is currently working somewhere there and he has said the fact about how rich Africa really is. Just like our country, our country is rich but just being exploited by the rich people and as well as the politicians.

That will result in a civil war and I think is happening in some parts there. I know how patriotic and nationalistic most of the Africans but with revolution, there could be more people that might be affected by that way of taking over. But if no change will be made, the political system will just always be abused by who's in power.
