Hi,
I have a rig with 6GPU 1060 6GB, and a core i3-7100. Currently Claymore ethereum miner is running but CPU is idle, I want to utilize my CPU too, so pls tell me what miner I have to download for CPU and how can it work with gpu mining.
Also please suggest more profitable miner for CPU.

Thanks
If you want to do CPU overclock, personally I can't suggest you that, it's not for your CPU and won't do much for long or even short term profit.
Since you have 6x gtx1060, why are you looking for cpu mining?
As other suggested you, sell them and buy i7.
But I would sell 1060 and buy 1070....

There are other CryptoNight coins out there that can be potentially more profitable than Monero for CPU mining temporarily, but that’s essentially true.

If you’re mining with an Intel CPU on Nicehash, though, it seems to default to HODL since Intel CPUs typically aren’t that great at mining XMR with their small L3 cache. Seems like it’s only been on XMR for a short time this month if you’re theoretically mining with an i7-6700 or even a 7700K.

You sure that will hold it?

My logic is like this.

I3-7100 cost $115 and uses 8w power
I7-6700 cost $200 more and uses 35w more when mining. Zcoin makes profit of  0.50c per day.

So the I7 will start to make me money after 400 days where the I3 will not. 3 months ago this little thing was making me $2 a day so I have paid it off a long time ago.

I have 10 rigs all with I7 mining and i bought a new 6x1070 rig just from mining with cpu's

we might never see such days again or tomorrow a new coin comes along that is very profitable on cpu's

My i3 6100 does 40-44 on cryptonight the algorithm in which Monero is based and which CPU can mine it. However for me it is not worth to damage an i3 CPU of 6/7 generation, sometimes in my home rig, I disable GPU0 for mining and use it for gaming while the other GPU-s continue mining. An i3 7100 will not do more than 60-65 h/s at best so that is like 2.2-3 USD a month and unless you live in a third world country this amount is ridiculous considering you are keeping your CPU at 100% of the capacity. In the end though this is just personal preference which changes from user to user.

Step 1. Sell the I3 and buy a I7 6700

it uses about 43w when mining 100% and you can get up to 650 Khs on zcoin. and if all goes as I hope cryptonight wiill be back. It also mines just over 300hs.

https://whattomine.com/coins/175-xzc-lyra2z?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=650&p=40&fee=0.0&cost=0.1&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate

if i don't mine the cpu uses about 8w. So the cost of power increase with 35w

I don't think there is any good coin in the central processing unit except Monroe, anybody agree?

ETN is easy enough, more the price drops easier it gets, just hold till next time they ramp it

You can use xmr-stak-cpu (or xmr-stak and configure it only use CPU).
Run it in parallel with your GPU mining software.
Don't expect to earn a huge amount on one rig though  Cheesy

I have not seen any stability issues so far.

Same here. Using XMR Stak to CPU mine Electroneum alongside GPU mining w/ EWBF on 2 rigs. No stability issues between the two for several months now. Not making me rich, but otherwise those CPU would essentially doing nothing.

I mine cryptonite but using water cooled threadripper, I wouldn't bother with an i3, you would probably get about 75h/s per core at best and generate mainly heat.

Yes, op must do it like you.
because of dual mining will make another part must extra work. if single it mining can produce heat moreover dual mining. don't interpret I prohibit that but just to be noticed what will happen your rig.

be careful.
if you want dual mining, those will make increase power consumption and instability on RIG. for the hashrate CPU depend on a processor spec.

Expecting the i3 7100 to get 50-55H/s it would be 0.07$ in 24 hours. (power costs not included)

OK, but if we take electricity off and consider it also a work and also the CPU will die earlier and whole system will be slower then I am not sure where is the profit and why people do it?

I don't anyone does really.

I would avoid doing it. Save the world.

Yes I was just saying that it is possible. Not that it would make any sense with a CPU like that.  Smiley
On the other hand, If you got a rig with, for example, a threadripper 1950X CPU besides your GPUs it maybe would be more profitable.

You could use xmrig to mine cryptonight coins, but I don't think you will get great profits Wink
https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig

I recommend configuring xmrig to only utilize 50-60% of your CPU to not cause stability issues for your main GPU mining software and OS.
When I began mining, I had the CPUs of my rigs running on Monero but the profit was not worth mentioning and it caused stability issues especially when remotely administrating the rigs.

How much will you be making then for example with i3?

Since we need to maintain the heat energy exposing from the cards we need perfect set of power supply and right cards which can be enough for power load of your SMPS. If you use the perfectmine os you can monitor on your remote itself.
Then you can able to select the pool to mine on any pool which have connected for your mining cards too.
