Indian youngsters stole the show with their performance, and we have good suitable replacement candidates as well who will be considerable for the tour of the Sri Lanka which is starting soon. No doubt Zimbabwean fans also enjoyed these games because environment in stadium were amazing to watch games at home while stuff happened.
For the sake of cricket? Well.. if that was the case, then I have other ideas. In case you want to give players such as Abhishek Sharma and Tushar Deshpande a taste of international cricket, then the BCCI should have organized A team tours against opposition like Australia A or England A. Those matches would have been much more competitive when compared to the matches against Zimbabwe national team. And in case you are interested in spreading the game, then please arrange matches against Nepal or Namibia rather than useless full members such as Zimbabwe or Bangladesh.
Lol, what are you on about with Nepal and Nambia?
As far as associate nations go. BCCI recently sent Punjab domestic team to Nambia where both teams played 5 ODI series (4-1 to Punjab). They can't send the national team everywhere and from the recent trend I've noticed, it looks like they are trying to create a system where the domestic teams regularly play against associates. They did more or less the same thing when Nepal played a tri-series in Gujrat against 2 domestic teams.
