I think this win for Ireland makes the series more interesting, Ireland ain't a bad cricket team and will be more competitive with every series they play. I really like seeing these lower ranked teams win as it makes it more interesting to watch instead of the lower ranked teams getting smashed all the time. Well they will need to improve a lot when facing the higher ranked teams such as India, England, Australia etc....

Apart from Nepal (and to an extent Malaysia), all the other teams are predominantly made up of expats. Teams such as Oman, UAE and Hong Kong normally doesn't have a single citizen in their playing XI. These teams should not be allowed to take part in such tournaments and even if they are allowed, they should be renamed to India B or Pakistan B.

I do not think that renaming this very small teams to PAK Team A / B can serve any purpose. Rather it will just create the confusion. I think Only the countries which have proper cricket setup in their countries should be allowed to take part in asia cup qualifiers , though as often is the case with most of the qualifiers, the matched are mostly boring and they do get any attention other than the playing XI.

IMHO, Ireland team isn't improving at all. They've been playing like this for a long time and haven't been working on their grass root level. Roll Eyes

The whole domestic cricket system of Ireland needs to be restructured completely.

Today in first ODI Afghanistan done great job and now leading this series by 1 - 0 after today match I can say this is going to be one sided series as Ireland has no answer for great spirit of this new promoted team which is doing great job now its just matter of time Afghanistan is going to be one of best teams from Asia and could be much better then few very big teams.

This match has already started. Ireland won the toss and elected to field first and it looks they have taken a good decision. Afghanistan playing their last over and they have scored 225 runs and only last wicket left. It looks Ireland bowlers have done a good work and batsman job to chase these runs. But Afghanistan got good bowlers so need to see how Ireland batsman will manage to chase this total.

Yes same here, I don't favour any of the teams but like you it would be nice to see India win and make it go down to the wire and both teams fight it out for a series win in the 5th test match. We don't see many 5 test series go into the 5th test match to decide the series so it would be good to see if it happens in this test series and also it will give India some confidence heading into the Australian series later this year where they have struggle and never won a test series in Australia.

If pitch supports swing bowling then we can't expect much different performance from Indian batters except a couple of guys. So it all depends on what kind of pitch it will be. Also, in last test Indian fast bowlers did a much better performance than expected. But what I feel is England may come back hard in the next match so it will be quite hard for Indian to beat the home team.
