but looking at how easily the pitch played when the seamers were bowling, it makes me wonder whether England can force a win with Moeen as the only spinner.
Chris Woakes scored first fifty in test match cricket, he is helping a lot to build a wonderful partnership at this stage and i think so before lunch England will get succeed to cross the 400 runs milestone easily both batsmen are looking very set and playing comfortably into this match now.
England is back to the match because 304 are good one with nice bowling attack, today England will try to improve this total and will add some quick score into it, Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes playing very important at this stage and they will get around 400 runs before lunch break.

Don't know why the square boundaries have been brought inside, saw this in 2nd test as well! Traditionally at Lords u would see advertising boards as straighter boundaries and ropes being kept at very end of square boundaries of those boards!
As ever, we wont know what a decent total on this wicket will be until SL bat but they bowled pretty well today. Nicely poised!
In England vs Sri Lanka, 3rd Test Match, I am backing England. Last match was also won by this team and they are in pretty good form. They have relentless duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad who are performing really well. The match will happen at Lord's cricket ground, London which has higher clay content and is expected to favour the batsmen.
What is so special about your decision ? Yes a very important innings by bairstow . England seemed to be falling down in first session , but they came back well in second and third . 300 + is looking easy right now , I think they should let bairstow play as much as he can .If he gets a good stand on other side , then even 350- 400 is also possible which can turn the match into England's side completely. 10 more overs remaining today , 234 on board .

England has now stable position though 6th wicket is down now.This is score which is sufficient to fight for against a team which is weaker and can not perform at all.Sri Lanka has golden chance I do agree on that but they proved once again that they have turned into ordinary team now.
England has been just lost 6th wicket on 227 runs but now it is into very good position, i hope it will get succeed to make score around 300 runs by the end of day 1, Sri Lanka has problem with batting line and this would be nice for England to take it into trouble easily.
England managed to go out of the risky area as 210 runs at the moment.Actually this is partnership which will keep playing in rest of the time today.Now I can guess that at least 50 runs more will be added by the end of first day's play.Sri Lanka failed once again so England will have another easy win.
This partnership going into very good direction and that is good sign for English team and i also think 300 runs would be nice achievement for 1st innings after quick disaster because it have wonderful bowling attacking which defend this match easily.
