It's an irrefutable fact that bitcoin is and will be used for criminal operations. The question is: on what scale?

It should not necessarily be a direct buying of guns or drugs. For example, a terrorist might buy parts for IED with bitcoin which makes the transaction untrackable.

Is there any official data indicating a surge in drugs and arms trafficking with bitcoin used as a payment method?

Bitcoins have both advantages and disadvantages .The feature of being anonymous which is attracted by many bitcoin users is the feature that is also attracted by many criminals. Recently , ransoms in millions were taken from the movie producers of The pirates of carribbiean and Game of thrones. All these activities has led to the increase in criminal activities associated with bitcoins. Bitcoins is also being used by many spammers who flood the internet with spams and make a fool of investors. Many people have lost their money to spammers and there is no way to indentify them as their identity is hidden as per bitcoin property. So these reasons have fueled the criminal activities associated with bitcoins.

This is really true and we cannot deny really that fact. But to new people investing in bitcoin, better focus your full attention on the good side of bitcoin the reality is, everywhere there will always be the bad guys and you just armed yourself with due diligence and vigilance with your investment and make a killing of getting great returns!

Crime is everywhere and we can't ban it. If we even tried, how would you do it? Goverments are trying to get rid of paper money and switch to online banking because they could control everything easier. No more tax evading, buying illegal things etc. If something like this happened, I think they would use gold or silver for transactions.
Criminals would really do anything to transact with those things which do have value which as being said here if they would need to transact gold and silver for sure they would do such thing since they know its still money because it does have value and bitcoin isnt an exception on that one specially its decentralized and anonymous. Its the perfect recipe to commit crime when it comes to money transactions.

I think that this is nonsense, because the crimes committes before the appearance of Bitcoin, and the fact that the level of crime could increase can be influenced by a lot of facts. They simply wrote off everything to Bitcoin.

I feel this is a type of bash or placing the BTC down to its amount, precisely the bank business people collaboration. Despite the fact that its up to them how to choose and normally set malicious concerns to the stable cryptocurrency.

You have a point but really, both in bitcoin and fiat money, there will always be people doing illegal transactions. there is really nothing new about this at all and we should understand that majority of the people using bitcoin are doing legal transactions and it is really a minority of people doing it illegally..

I certainly do not know the exact statistics. But a couple of times I participated in Ico, who were attacked and attacked by hackers. A typical example of Ico CoinDash. This of course was not pleasant and exciting, but it's good that the startup refunded everything to its investors.

I think it's a normal thing to happen. because it is not a little turnover of money in this digital world. although in virutal money. but evil will never fade and disappear, as long as man occupies this world.

Yes I believe bitcoin is used some for criminal activity. But I resist the bitcoin affecting the increase in criminality in some countries. I think bitcoin makes it easy for criminal activities without any casualties, like the example is Silk Road. The Silk Road site bridges buyers and sellers with no casualties killed in gang fighting.
Every currency have been used for criminality,  the law enforcement officer were panicking when bitcoin first emerged. They think that bitcoin is dangerous and made it harder for them to do their job. But now, FBI said that investigators can follow the money.  So, when law enforcement can handle bitcoin / understand how bitcoin works, then the crime rate can be reduced.
It is not only bitcoins that are being used in wrong or illegal activities but fiat has also being misused by humans from time immemorial.

It is not bitcoins that should be blamed for being used in illegal deeds but those people who are doing such activities. Illegal activities are not related to currencies; rather they are in the mind of people who are using them.

When bitcoin started it has been observed that the popular initial users were in the black market, this is due to cryptology design and anonymity, a lot of challenges faced by the authorities to track them down thru the network, not until today that it has been widely used and already been spread the awareness to the people of its usage, Criminality cannot be blamed to bitcoin.

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
I doubt on your statement stated above. For me, bitcoin has decreased the number of criminality in the country because it could give us money to supply our needs. They'll give a bad image to get bitcoin banned and maybe government created this false information to threaten the people and the bitcoin also. They started to ruin the reputation of bitcoin but they will not succeed on their evil plans.

Criminals have existed long before Bitcoin and will continue to exist even if every government bans bitcoin. It's never technologies fault if people use it for bad things.

For example explosives have been invented to help construction workers and miners. But they are also useful for killing people. Does that make explosives bad, would banning production of explosives make people stop killing each other? It would just make poor physical workers that don't want to harm anyone work harder using hand tools. And people who want to kill each other would just choose another weapon.

It's the same with banning Bitcoin, we would loose all the good it brings, and criminals would use some other way of making transactions.

In my opinion, there's a truth behind the bitcoin that before it was created there is a possibility that crimes like cybercrimes which use by the criminals can access bitcoin even though they are people who do such a thing like that it is inappropriate to do because we all know that doing that crime will just gives us a problem which can effect people.

Criminals would take advantage of whatever they can so they can continue with their activities. I am sure that many of them have explored the possibility of doing transactions anonymously to hide their identities. Many governments would definitely take actions once these criminal activities financed by crypto currencies become rampant and banning them could be one of the options when push come to shove.

Criminality has always existed long before bitcoin however the media seams to always play on this very small part of bitcoin. As a result when you speak to people whom don't really know much about bitcoin, they are likely to speak of the criminal element involved with it.

Well its a possibility, but it will not be that great increase. Crime and syndicate has always been present way before bitcoin and criminals have been using different alternatives to traffic money before bitcoin exists. It could be true that bitcoin might have given them easier access  transport and laundering money because of its untraceable nature, but without bitcoin criminality still will survived because it is not the means that produce criminals, its man.

I don't believe on it.  Maybe there are some people who commits cyber criminalities but you cannot link it to bitcoin.  It is true that loving money is the root of many evils and since bitcoin provides opportunity to earn lots of money, maybe some cyber criminals tried it to bitcoin. It is so disappointing that after the good opportunity bitcoin offers there are some people (those cyber criminals) ruined the good reputation of bitcoin in internet world for their own sake.
