There are plenty of currencies to choose from already. Some are controlled by specific nation-states, some belong to corporations. Others, and particularly Bitcoin, are decentralized and corporate-free. Bitcoin is a good currency for those who don't trust govs and corporations. Uniting is not something world knows how to do, that just doesn't work the way you want it to work and usually ends up being a little bit of a problem. I get that it is not really all that simple, but we need to just make sure that it could get better eventually as well. I get that it is not that common and it is not that easy to handle, but it is what it is and uniting is not what we do. For most of the world times have never been better, it is a great shame that wars are happening like those between Russia and Ukraine, or Israel and Palestine - if only there could be a fair and peaceful resolution then humanity could be a lot safer. Unfortunately people have fought over silly things and for ignorant leaders since the beginning of time, we just have to try to stop these conflicts spilling over into bigger problems for the world. We have had the luxury of relative peace, after nuclear weapons ended world war 2 for many decades and should be grateful that only comparatively small conflicts have erupted since.
