Of lately, do many good developments has been coming around for cryptocurrencies. Its very nice seeing these projects performing very well and actually bringing one adoption or the other to the table. Cardano has been doing well fir sometime now, this is surely a more addition to their lists of successful developments.

Nice video by the way. But I dont think altcoin can move faster than bitcoin when it comes to adoption. Yes, cryptocurrency has been exposed and started to gain traction in the real world but adoption isn't achieved by ALL cryptocurrency isn't it?

In my country, there are lots of cool things to purchase and used of crypto, shopping, airline as well, restaurant, electronic load for mobile phones, game credits, and even payment for bills in the house and government mandatory fees.

But only few crypto are allowed and mostly its bitcoin that advanced. Every altcoin out there has used same protocol bitcoin introduced. The point here, not all crypto will be adopted in the future but only those useful one.

It may also depends on the wallet or applications that we are using to determine whether that alt can be used. In many alt that is there. Some is really consider no need as it seems to be the same with other altcoins. Some alts are only made for specific project and may not be easily adopt in different countries that may contradict their tradition and beliefs.

Yes it is. Crypto is currently booming in countries such as China, Turkey, Ukraine etc. a.ka wherever binance is adding fiat-crypto gateways. Interesting time ahead of us...

True. Binance recently added Turkey's Lira.

I'd be more interested to see BTC and ETH accepted locally like on grocery stores bot just to airlines because that's when we finally see adoption takes place in ground zero. Buying a soda with BTC or so.  The talks in the corners probably will involve some cryptocurrencies and bar fight reasons could be because of two guys arguing which coins is better.

Rising rate of adoption is good but this has lead to many scam ICOs too. People are promising to use crypto to do almost anything they can think of. Thus the ICO business is rising and the scam rate is rising too. I just hope we pick the correct projects to invest or to benefit from.

By crypto adaption it means that where the crypto is being used for buying and selling. Scam ICO and ponzi investment schemes are not the proper examples of adoption. These are just evil projects started by the scammers. Once the big names and multinational companies will support crypto payment methods, the adoption will be increased massively.

If that adoption will always came  well provably  we will see a different side on it since many people will evade to use crypto, But  let's not look on that side since there are more adoption happening right now and see this https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/042415/10-cities-leading-bitcoin-adoption.asp this is a totally excellent growth and for sure there will be more global widespread will come in future since the potential of all crypto still in good shape.

Here in our country, we also have some small stores that accept cryptocurrencies as payment. not too long ago, someone in our local board has posted a hospital that accepts bitcoins too. This more adoption will make our country one of the crypto-friendly country in the whole world. according to our national central bank agency, there are a lot of people using digital money now compared before.

Paying with cryptocurrency is quite novel and not popular, hence it would seem odd to those who are is used to more traditional means of making purchases. And there are various options in paying with cryptocurrency , such as lightening network. It would take a while for mass adoption but I believe that would eventually happen, and with it more simplistic ways of making payment through cryptocurrency.

Yea, but I hate it when software developers over engineer things and then they think the general public would find it user-friendly.  Roll Eyes  The

software solution should make things easier and more convenient for people, not more complex and time consuming like in this project.  Roll Eyes  I had

a terrible experience last night when I helped a friend setting up a BitPay wallet on Windows XP and it once again frustrated me that a large

Bitcoin company like BitPay would make things that complicated for people to use their service. It is as if these people are deliberately making it too

difficult for people to use Bitcoin to sabotage the whole adoption thing.  Angry  (or they are just clueless)  Roll Eyes B.t.w Bitpay does not run on WindowsXP

Indeed, am attending to see larger adoption for the Blockchain technology as whole and not just cryptocurrencies. Crypto adoption will always be limited to some specefic fields, as there is no urgent need for it in the actual global market. It's a long hard journey for cryptocurrencies to lead over Fiat for the upcoming decades , Imo. That's why i prefer focusing on the technology behind the bitcoin and how it can be used for other parts of our day lives.

Facebook's Calibra project would bring Bitcoin to the limelight and Blockchain cutting edge tech would be used for payments. A lot of people thinks that Libra will have little to no effect on Bitcoin  but that's untrue.
Libra for Facebook is not a cryptocurrency. It's a digital money.

Why the hell would a shop accept cardano as a payment method?
A cryptocurrency which loses 50-80% it's value in the last months.

All those qr codes "innovations" can be done with bitcoin, which is much more solid.

I believe those shitcoins are bad for adoption.
Promotion to buy the coins xD.

Anyway, some of payment systems using fiat to their main balance so the fund will never get volatility from cryptocurrency since the customer fund using a fiat. The payment system will process all the transaction with a scheme like this FIAT -> Cryptocurrency -> FIAT in instant transaction, the transaction will automatically send the fund with their own crypto after that the shop will receive USD/FIAT since the app converted the crypto to fiat with instant transaction.

It is indeed rather great news for BTC. More adoption means its name spreads more means a lot more potential investors could come and enter the market which means.. one step closer to its goal of replacing fiat. Although that is still quite far in the future since the market is really really volatile at the moment and it still has to tackle a lot of issues, one of which is the acceptance of the masses of its existence or at least, knowledge of its existence.
But still this adoption is very low as compare to whole world business and marketplaces but sooner or later the adaption of bitcoin will spread everywhere.
It's not really surprising. BTC has lived for only 10 years, relatively small compared to how long the world has run its business. As for adoption, sure I'm pro with it, but it like what I said, it seriously has a lot of problems to tackle before being properly spread. We wouldn't want it to become somehow similar like a firework, where it has a momentary blinding shine but ends up in the dust by the end, right?

Blockchain offers a lot of possibility in terms of comfort in any transaction relating to payment as well management. Many will get interest to try and use it due to it's efficiency and will cost them less fees and operating cost for businesses like stores. What I'm looking forward is to see it used in government to show transparency in their work and positions, budget allocating can be traced thru addresses allotted in every agencies. In a country full of corrupt Politicians expanding in use of blockchain and crypto can solve these issues.

I watched the video and I think there are too many steps to follow to get to the payment option. Why do you have to weigh the item? (explain that

please?) Also, if you have to choose between walking into a shop and taking an item and then using cash to pay for it or going to a shop, and pulling

out your phone and scanning the QR code and then firing up a wallet and weighing the goods and then scanning a QR code again and then putting

in a password to pay for the item, what would you prefer? People are lazy and always in a hurry, so just imagine what they will choose if they had to

decide between the two options? (Or simply using a credit card or debit card)  Roll Eyes

We can also add this up;
Quote
Despite a mixed relationship with crypto, Chinese retail giant Alibaba has partnered with crypto startup Lolli to reward customers in bitcoin for purchases.
This could be also a huge impact on cryptocurrency especially it will initiate on China which also has a lot of population a country for sure that has huge role in the world of cryptocurrency especially in Bitcoin.
Hoping this project will success, especially it is on the business side and will help the cryprocurrecy in massive adoption.

>> Any instance where Crypto is adopted can be shared in this thread. Also, share your comments/opinion on this.

You can find a  big database of online shops and projects which are accepting bitcoins on this link. https://www.spending-bitcoin.com
But still this adoption is very low as compare to whole world business and marketplaces but sooner or later the adaption of bitcoin will spread everywhere.

Why the hell would a shop accept cardano as a payment method?

Because there's an active team that actively tried to get them to use that coin and said it's faster than Bitcoin.

I'm sure they use a fiat exchanger on board so any coins that are used will be exchanged to fiat directly. No way in hell they'll risk saving crypto that went up and down like crazy every day.

Choosing Bitcoin as one of the payment methods wll bring more fresh air to crypto compared to choose altcoin, this is caused by too much altcoin which ends up being rubbish because there is no definite support from developers which will eventually make bad impact to crypto world.
We'll see if this will last a long time because there are also many that they finally no longer include crypto in the type of payment in their business.
